Thought I decided on the Swan, but now we are going back and forth between the Swan and POR royal rooms. The price is about the same, but the swan has no shuttle service to the airport. POR has the magical express, but is not walking distance to any parks. We will not have a car. My husband told me to ask MWrs so here I am! Swan or Port Orleans Riverside Royal rooms and why???

I am biased to POR. I have never stayed at the swan. Go try something new if you can afford it. - 5disneylovers  773.9 #5 11:54AM
They are both similar in price including the shuttle fees. Are the royal rooms close to the food court? Can't decide!!! - Disneyaddict  340.6 #600 5:54PM
That's a tough one, they each have their own pros and cons. Since the price is about the same, I would go with the Swan due to location. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  801.1 #3 8:38AM
Are the grounds equally as nice? - Disneyaddict  340.6 #600 9:05AM
I've not personally stayed at the Swan, but to be walking distance (or a boat ride away) from the Boardwalk, Epcot, and HS beats just being close to DTD. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  801.1 #3 9:39AM
You can get a town car or Mears , but that's extra money . I would go with POR, but that's me !! - skcanfield  467.9 #12 9:09AM
Remember, Disney's Magical Express IS a Mears shuttle. It's just arranged and paid for by Disney instead of yourself. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  801.1 #3 9:41AM
I would price out a shuttle from the airport to see how much it would cost to get to the Swan. The location of the Swan is much better but it is not Disney themed at all, so it depends on what you are looking for. POR does have a boat that you can take to DTD, but you will have to take the bus to the parks.Good luck, it's a hard choice! - Andrea84  625.8 #7 9:18AM
My hubby had a conference at the Swan and it is a beautiful hotel BUT it is not Disney themed and the lack of buses was a pain. Also it's restaurants are not on the dining plan if that us a concern. - mzdisnee  435.0 #14 9:34AM
We stay at the dolphin its 57.00 from airport to dolphin. We had no problems with transportation during our 17 days stay... ferry service as well bus service no problem...yes it's not a Disney hotel , but you still get the magic hours. - islandgirl58  251.7 #25 9:55AM
Also enjoyed the location of the 2 parks (epcot and hs)...even though we walked almost everytime to epcot...ferry service is great....plus you can enjoy boardwalk at night if not going to downtown Disney... - islandgirl58  251.7 #25 10:01AM
POR rooms were BEAUTIFUL! They're newly renevated and the bus shuttles go to every park and are not too far from the rooms. It's so nice to walk outside the room and be outside with fresh air and the New Orleans style lobby and dining hall is fantastuc - ariel116  98.3 #62 10:17AM
Fantastic* and u can take boat rides to DTD and there's horse carriages around the resort - ariel116  98.3 #62 10:19AM
