The strangest thing just happened. I just received 5 texts in a row from MW. I think the email servers are a bit on.the slow side. To all who sent me texts thank you. I did get laid off at the end of 2012 after 17 years at the same company. No bitterness though....business is business. I am actively on the job hunt and will find something very soon. I have severance for awhile & unemployment. Thank you for your kind wishes & support everyone!!

I have been in that position twice in my lifetime, jobs were eliminated, leaving me in search of a new one. It didn't feel like it was possible at the time, but when a door was closed a new window of opportunity presented itself, both times, and I am more experienced and knowledgable now because of it. Thanks everyone. The writing was on the wall for awhile at work so it wasn't a surprise. I survived 2 other mergers/takeovers/whatever you call it so I pretty much figured my time there was up.
