So I was talking to my husband and he thinks we shouldn't be doing chef mickeys he just cant seem to justify spending almost $100 to eat breakfast. We aren't on the dining plan...I am assuming that would be how much it costs since the site said prices are $15-35. I just don't know how to talk him onto it or is it just something that isn't a must????
We enjoy it , a buffet is a buffet but still was a fun time , and lets be honest we all have seen kids and adults do gross things at disney lol, and that's just the things we have seen , I won't even touch the rails :) - tracsant

It's not a must do , especially since your not on the dining plan !!! Characters can be seen elsewhere !!! I would bypass it !!! - skcanfield

Ohana has a really fun character breakfast. The food is good & the characters are fun(Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, Stitch). The food is served family style. - perdita

We eat breakfast there almost every trip. We love it!! I've never seen anything gross. The food is good but we mostly go for the characters. We do the Dp, idk if we would still go if it was out of pocket. - Schramke

That's a tough one... we try to always work this one in, or simiilar character dining favs, but only because we usually do the dining plans. We did it once without a dining plan and it was ~100 bucks for 3 of us (that was in '05). Like 5DL said, you can see all the characters in the parks, so it isn't a must, really... unless you just want to do a character dining.

If you want to do a character dinning the garden grill has an excellent one with Mickey, Pluto , chip and dale and they bring the food to the table or holly wood and vine with jake, and a few other characters and I think tuskars has one also but I don't know who is there - mmddgp

Garden grill is nice because it is served to you. But expensive. I personally love the character spot at epcot you see everyone in one spot it was great. For the money i feel so rushed eating then quick get uptoget a picture then shove more food in then quickbget a picture now food is cold and i have indigestion - Bakerjars

Character dining is fun but your meal does get frequently interrupted. We did chef mickey's last time and were not impressed. The food seemed old. We really enjoyed tusker house. The characters were in safari clothes (very cute). We made a reservation around 111am so we started with breakfast and ended with lunch! Plus we got a fast pass to the safari before we ate and it was time to ride as soon as we were done. It worked out great. - Disneyaddict

My family enjoys chef mickeys. We have always gone on the ddp, so I can imagine your hubby being picky. If u haven't done chef mickeys yet u def should. Good food, tons of choices for everyone, and character time ! - Staceymouse

I still haven't canceled I am going to wait until we get there.....maybe he will change his mind. Although as of right now he thinks I should cancel. Its such a tough decision for me since my son desperately wants to do it. I am almost to the point of taking my son by myself and since little miss is 1 she won't know what she missed. That way he can still have the experience. - ccmom
