Good Morning Everyone :). Our trip next year doubled on size....from 6 to 12!!!! We are getting 2 cabins at Fort Wilderness. How many have of you guys have had a "Family Gathering"? Any turn into disasters or was it still "Magical" for everyone?

We had a group of 30 at OKW and it was magical. Don't do it all together! We had one big family dinner and one big family breakfast. I was the biggest "planner" so I made an itinerary for me and my DH. I then shared it with all and those who wanted to, joined up. Most days we had about half the group together at any time. The last day we took a family photo with matching shirts and then all went to a park in them. CMs were making a big fuss over all the matching blue shirts all over the park. Need any info/advice let me know - timonT  410.5 #20 11:54AM
Thanks...I was definitely thinking ofatching shirts:). We are going to MNSSHP, hoping to coordinate costumes :) - dragon16025  3.9 #635 4:45PM
Coordinating costumes would be awesome! All Alice in Wonderland or something with a big cast - timonT  410.5 #20 5:38PM
We had 10 at our last trip. The only thing that we missed was WDW had just stopped doing the Grand Gatherings 2 months prior. We broke into smaller groups than designated certain meal times or events as group gatherings. - Grumps10  6.8 #326 8:07AM
We had 13 one time! My in laws, my parents, sister and her ex bf, brother, other brother and wife and my 2 nieces. My husband proposed to me that trip too!! It was DL's 50th anniversary year :) the trip was interesting with other things that happened but still a memorable one :) - brodysmommy  430.9 #508 11:10AM
Wow. Happy planning. You can make it happy. Just don't feel you all have to do everything together. My sister and her family were there last August it was the best decision to stay in the same hotel not the same room lol - 5disneylovers  1152.5 #6 1:38PM
This past April we had 11..it was great to have the famiy together...Im with Grumps10 do what you want we all stayed together and it was not fun some were mad that they had to see things they didnt want to see.. - dxcmama  333.4 #26 2:33PM
Thanks everyone:). We are super excited. We are going to plan a few dinners together, but our big kids (ages 22-19) will be off on their own doing adventure rides while the little kids (ages 8-11) will hang with us "old people" :) - dragon16025  3.9 #635 5:46AM
