Good morning MW family. what's everyone's countdown? Mine is 227 days !!!guys Thanksgiving is coming and I don't know how I feel about spending it with my husbands sister,brother and his brothers wife. there's a lot of conflicts there. I personally don't like them that much because of arguments of the past. at the same time I feel bad for my hubby. what to do???
Our countdown is 8 yes 8! Mrs I said it! I'm always telling people how lucky we are that we all get along. I sent my daughter's in laws a card saying that after hearing in law stories I was so happy they were our in laws. Good luck

Our countdown is at 23!! I completely understand... my sister, brother and I have experienced similar drama with our Dad's wife and adult children and their kids in the past. So much so, it takes alot of effort (especially around the holidays) to put the past aside and enjoy our time with our father with them around. We do it for him, because we love him dearly. So, my only advice for now is, if it makes your hubs happy to see his family, make an effort for him and your kids, and try to enjoy yourself as much as you can. Sorry Yessy, I know it's tough. Goodmorning yessy. I don't have a countdown yet but probably end of feb/beginning of march. Why does dealing with family have to be so hard? I have it in both sides and right now for my side I do it for my Mom and dad because I don't want to hurt them. I am having thanksgiving at my house for @ 50 people and my husband is ok with it because he knows I enjoy doing it. On his side he hasn't been close to his brothers since his mom passed away a couple of years ago she was our link with everyone I feel bad cuz I know she is not happy about that up there. I'm not sure of the exact number but it's September 12! I don't get along with my SIL either. She's done some pretty crappy stuff to me in the past but on holidays I just ignore her and hope she chokes on her turkey leg! Haha! Just kidding - girlonfire

We are at 73 days. I get it about your husbands family. My in laws don't like me. Lets just say one of the many examples is the offered my hubby a new car of his choice and to pay for him to go back to school if he devorced me. But obviously he said no and in jan well be married 11 years. So I just think about my hubby when it comes to holidays. We go to their house and ill play nice for his sake. Hang in there - Schramke

Don't have a count down yet, I was hoping for early May but I offered to foster a pet for a family that lost there home to Sandy so I'm not making plans until I know they are settled. As far as Thanksgiving just put up with it for your husband & hope the day goes fast. - perdita

I'm sorry to hear there are family issuses. Last 4 years my parents, husband and I have been kept out of holidays and anything important (unless involves us giving gifts such as bridal parties and weddings, no thanksgiving or Christmas). So my grandma ends up having to go to three different places for Christmas dinners, on different days but still stuck because growing up we were all very close and would have Christmas dinner with the whole family. I know it's tough but I would try to tough it out if your husband wants to be with family for the holidays. I go to some of my husbands family's party when sometimes I don't want to (I do love them but they can drive ya nuts lol, even him). - TinkTinkTink

Yes grandchildren but they all get along fine. I'm grateful for that. They are all over 21 now except a 14 & 15 yr old. I'm just thankful all my children & GRANDS live close. - lghr
