A little help from my MW family. Our original plan was to leave Disney for 1 day and head to Universal, but I am not sure now. The transportation seems outrageous to go, plus the expense of a day trip seems excessive. Any thoughts? Any suggestions about transportation?
Universals is a okay place but doesn't compare to Disney !!!! I would never leave Disney to go there !! If you have your heart set on it , I would wait & make it a seperate vacation . - skcanfield  349.5 #10 12:28PM
My Mom & our friend left Disney for a day at Universal last week. The Mears shuttle was $19 per person but ate up a lot of their time in the parks. The Universal hopper ticket cost well over $100 each. If they were to do it again, they would take a taxi and spend their time in the old park (not Islands of Adventure, which they found very busy and unorganized). It's totally not worth it for one day. CDKG is correct on all accounts. Use the extra day to explore the resort you're at or spend more time at DTD.  - IndyandMarion  912.6 #1 1:00PM

We actually go up there for two days each vacation. We have used mears when there is just the two of us and when we have the whole family(8-10) we book a taxi(van). It still is cheaper than renting a car and less time consuming. It is definatley different than Disney but we si enjoy it there also. Happy planning. - mmddgp  177.9 #27 2:03PM
