Good morning everyone. This is not Disney-related,but it IS important. I am a native New-Yorker (I live in NJ now). I remember this day like it was yesterday and knew people in the buildings. To honor the memory of those we lost, always remember this day and never ever forget. God bless America now and always

Good morning! That day was a rough one for America. Too many lives lost. Some innocent and some brave. All will be missed! Thanks for the post. - JetsamsTwin  379.9 #21 8:23AM
I think I read somewhere on a post that you're a police officer john? Thank u for your service to this country. God bless all of those who protected and served others on 9/11. U all are heroes for your daily work and contributions! - mickeynme  177.5 #52 10:12AM
I have proudly served and am currently on my seventeenth year. I don't consider myself a hero although I usually don't stop to think about it often. I am saddened when I watch documentaries about that day because civilians, firemen and police officers perished. I do know that if I had been serving in manhattan that day I wouldn't have hesitated to be first in line to help save those lives. Thanks for your kind words. They mean a lot. - JetsamsTwin  379.9 #21 1:05PM
U know, many rushed back in to help others and many only thought about themselves...a person's true character is tested at times like those. I can tell by your character that u would've ran in to help others and not hesitated. Thank u for your service and dedication. THAT means a lot. Hope all is well with you and your family=) - mickeynme  177.5 #52 4:40PM
I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for your service, John. I have been watching countless documentaries this week on 9/11. My heart was broken that day. As an early riser and having a home-based business I had the TV on and watched with horror the events unfold that entire day and night. The sadness and resolve I feel have not subsided. Americans can stand tall and salute the incredible men and women for the heroic sacrifices made that day and the days since. - jacdanfan  11394.2 #5 4:11AM
Thank you Gary! I admire the brave men and women who serve in our nations military. I consider those people to be the real heroes. On 9/11, the front lines were at the towers and ground zero. I remember the panic and the shock. I also remember the patriotism. Flags were flying on vehicles. I had people stop me while I was working and thank me for just being in their neighborhood. 11 years later, I think some of that has faded and some folks have forgotten how tragic 9/11 was and what a huge impact it had on the country and the world for that matter. Our freedom, our Disney park tickets, etc we are able to enjoy because of the courageous people you mentioned. Thanks to all who serve. - JetsamsTwin  379.9 #21 7:04AM
I just wanted to mention that there is n amazing documentary called "102 minutes that changed America" It is a documentary put together from the points of views of about 5 different people as they videotaped what unfolded that fateful morning. It shows exactly what went on and you can literally watch it through the eyes of the New Yorkers who were in the area that morning. I don't mean to bring it up. I know that it is a very heartbreaking subject to say the least....but I strongly believe that everyone should watch this documentary at least once. It is truly touching and moving and you will never be the same after it. It's live videotape through the eyes of those who were there. A truly amazing documentary. I couldn't take my eyes off of the screen. Please watch it if you get a chance. "102 minutes that changed America" - mickeynme  177.5 #52 9:51PM
It shows exactly what the first responders went through and everyone else there. It's just raw human emotion. No acting. Just humanity. The video can be found on YouTube at full-length. Its only an hour an 41 seconds. Please watch it if u have the time. Thank you - mickeynme  177.5 #52 10:04PM
Good Morning. Never forgotten ... - JessiBelle22  78.4 #82 7:28AM
We MUST never forget - lala03  76.5 #84 7:29AM
All I gotta say is thank you I was a volunteer firefighter I also lost a good friend that day in the first building hit - firestorm64rt  41.9 #117 3:15PM
Thank u for your service as a volunteer firefighter. And I'm so sorry about your friend. I understand how u must feel. Very heart-breaking for ny and for the whole country. All those names read. Your friend is in a better place now. Prayers with you and with your friend's family - mickeynme  177.5 #52 4:51PM

😭. Hard day. My friends daughter is getting big. We ( my sorority sisters ) make sure she has what she needs. - 5disneylovers  1152.5 #6 12:02PM
Aww..I'm sorry you had a rough day today at work. So sorry for your friend and your friend's family. It's tough. Your friend's daughter is very lucky to have u - mickeynme  177.5 #52 5:15PM
Thank you for posting this, I'm also a new Yorker and my parents both know people who were involved but thankfully no one they know died but I'm still sorry for all those that were, my friends dad used to work right across the street and she has pictures that he took. We'll never forget the importance of that day - nodell111  166.4 #54 3:53PM
Yea,we knew many people who were around there and someone in the building. Many friends and family who walked in silence home across the brklyn bridge and who made it across the water to jersey city. So sad. Some of the victim's children who read the names today were only babies when their parents passed. So many people were affected directly and indirectly all across ny,the country, and the world. Thank u for also giving recognition to this day - mickeynme  177.5 #52 5:05PM
I was living in CT at the time of 9-11. I was pregnant with my now 10 year old, and had an almost 3 year old. I was so scared! Living right in between New York and Massachusetts, I didn't know what was going to happen next! It was a day I will NEVER forget as long as I live! I remember how weird it was for days later to not see any planes in the sky too!! - ncjal  288.4 #28 5:45PM
I know what you mean! We were supposed to fly out to Vegas on 9-11. Hadn't been on vacation for about 2 years and my wife's sister called us at 9am. Never made it to Vegas. - JetsamsTwin  379.9 #21 5:59PM
We had friends and family watching from rooftops in Manhattan. To watch documentaries of it now on tv just brings chills up my spine. I tear up every time. Nyc is where my heart is so I consider it to be my city...but after that day it became the city of everyone in America. So heart-breaking - mickeynme  177.5 #52 6:08PM
You're right...it was really odd not seeing planes in the sky for awhile.. - mickeynme  177.5 #52 6:10PM
