Getting pretty excited!!! Only 31 more days until my trip to WDW....If you guys have any great tips while I am staying at AK Lodge, let me know...So far for this trip I have a couple new places I am eating at like Jiko, Bomma, Citrcos and Tutto Italia, and donig some of my favs like Le Cellier and Tepan Edo!!!.....

Umm, my Family and I are of the Hispanic race so we *wink, wink* should know what good mexican food is. And, when we ate La Hacienda last year it was quite yummy, and we found it to be good mexican food. It really all depends on what you consider to be authentic mexican food. My Grandpa had the pork mole negro, and he just about licked the plate clean, lol. My parents had the Del Mar (seafood platter), they really loved that. The quality of the food is very good, and fresh. For me, I had the shrimp tacos! I loved the shrimp, and the tortillas were pretty good too! It's a really beautiful restaurant with a beautiful setting! Espcially to watch Illuminations fireworks! So, I think you maybe should consider eating there? Another great restaurant is Les Chefs de France. I love the France country in Epcot! Then for dessert go to Boulangerie Patisserie for yummy pastries!! - DesiBelle9  25.5 #149 12:29PM
Akl is Such a wonderful resort it really is an attraction itself , take advantage of all there is to do and see , the rms have a guide of all the animals in the savannah so we like to try and find as many as possible , every cm we have talked to there always has a great story to tell , oh and have a zebra dome, hope you have a great time , can't wait to hear how you like it:) - tracsant  1479.6 #2 4:24PM
Can u describe to me these zebra domes? I keep hearing about them on here! Everyone seems to love them. Are they really good? Lol - mickeynme  177.5 #52 6:40PM
Your going to love le cellier. Try Ohana. 50's prime time sci fi dining. - 5disneylovers  1152.8 #6 4:28PM
Enjoy Boma, it's my favorite! AKL is an amazing resort. I love the architecture and animal watching on the private savanna! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  1397.7 #3 4:41PM
looking forward to it...this month will fly by - Dave  13500.6 #2 5:27PM
Sounds like you have all the good ones booked! It will be here before you know it. - Disneyaddict  374.7 #606 5:30PM
I was at Teppan Edo yesterday, loved it! Also, I believe a couple of meet ups are necessary. - dlmickeymouseCM  2405.8 #62 5:41PM
yea, just found out today that Nghtygale from MWDL side will be there same time I will be so I know we are going to meet up for a couple hours also probably on thursday - Dave   13500.6 #2 10:01PM
Sweet. See you then! - dlmickeymouseCM  2405.8 #62 2:31AM
Loveee tutto italia, wasn't crazy a/b citricos. Really want to try boma. Heard it's amazing. Have u tried narcooses? Great seafood (and view) and la hacienda de san angel is the newest restaurant in mexico. Really good. Sry,i could babble on for hours about food at Disney...lol:D enjoy all those places..sounds like u have a great schedule! - mickeynme  177.5 #52 10:52PM
I mean plan..schedule makes it sound like work which it is NOT...lol - mickeynme  177.5 #52 10:53PM
for those who know me, I am a huge foodie so talk away...I refuse to do Mexican food in Orlando since I love in Southern California and the Mariachi band that plays at the Mexico pavilion told me in April that the food is nowhere close to anything traditional...Maybe I will switch to Narcooses instead, I have heard good things about it as well..I have eaten at most of the top fine dining places so trying to get the rest in..Still want to do Victoria Albert s but think I will wait - Dave   13500.6 #2 11:00PM
Dave you are right about Mexico , my hubs is Mexican and doesnt like any of the food at the pavilion , haven't done citrocs so I'm looking forward to hearing about that , also yacht mans steakhouse at the yacht club is absoultly delicious :) - tracsant  1479.6 #2 4:01AM
Oh ok..i understand about the mexican food then.lol. Narcooses is really good. Even better if u get a reservation around the time of MK fireworks. U can go out onto the back porch and watch. It's really pretty. Citricos we had horrible service. Food was ok. Hopefully your experience will be better. Victoria and alberts we wont go to because my father refuses to get extremely dressed up on vacation (since that's their dress code..lol). Heard the food was excellent tho. As tracy mentioned above my comment, the yahtsman steakhouse seems like a really good dining experience. Also, have u eaten at artist point at the wilderness lodge? Really great fine dining as well. I highly recommend it - mickeynme  177.5 #52 9:04PM
California grill is also good. Sushi, flatbreads, and desserts especially. Have u ever tried sci-fi at HS? Not fine dining but a fun experience and good food. Cool atmosphere. And brown derby is fantastic at HS for fine dining - mickeynme  177.5 #52 9:09PM
Ahh wait...nevermind..i remember u posted pics from both california grill and brown derby..lol.. - mickeynme  177.5 #52 9:11PM
So def try yachtsman steakhouse as tracy mentioned..and narcooses and artist point if you've never been there. Great fine dining experiences. Ohana is great for all u can eat (really good) and sci-fi is just a cool experience overall. Sry,i really can babble on about food for hours...bad habit! Lol - mickeynme  177.5 #52 9:13PM
cool, yea I ate at Artist point in April and loved it, been to Sci Fi a few times as a kid...I can really do the all you can eat places, I'm sure its good but I dont have a huge appetite and not the best person for a buffet - Dave   13500.6 #2 9:57PM
Ah ok understood..lol. It's great if u dont intend to eat during the day and if u have it for dinner.lol. So you've been to most of the top fine-dining places at WDW. That's great. I'm trying to refresh my memory a nd think of the other great culinary delights of WDW..lol. Earl of sandwich at DTD is a really great QS if you're a sandwich-lover. And t-rex is like rainforest cafe in theme but the quality of food seems to be slightly better. All depends on the type of food u like, etc. - mickeynme  177.5 #52 10:22PM
yea I have also done CA Grill, Bistro Paris and Coral reef...Earl of Sandwhich I had and I like it and look forward to it opening out here at DTD but north worth making a trip to WDW DTD IMO since Pleasure Island is closed these days.... - Dave   13500.6 #2 12:14AM
CA Grill was great,Bistro Paris was good too (liked the escargot..lol),and the Coral Reef was okkk. If u liked Coral Reef, then u should def get a reservation for Narcooses. The food is so much better. I think you'll like it - mickeynme  177.5 #52 11:52AM
Have u noticed btw that the CA Grill and the brown derby have the same sonoma goat cheese ravioli? Lol..good stuff=) - mickeynme  177.5 #52 11:53AM
I had no idea about the goat cheese, I looked in the Yachtman and it seems like a royal pain to get there just for dinner then leave..I did that a bunch of times during my last trip and it took up too much time..Oh I did Coral Reef for lunch last trip and really liked it..I think I might hit up the bar at CA Grill just to have that goat cheese again. - Dave   13500.6 #2 12:14PM
Ahaa..ok..yea,i understand about getting around. Can be tough depending on where you're staying. U know what, they took the ravioli away from the derby. I just checked the menus.lol. They used to have it there all the time. Guess it's a permanent fixture now at CA grill. Yea,i would def go to the bar and order that,a nice drink, some dessert and watch them make those sushi rolls. Sounds great.lol - mickeynme  177.5 #52 5:37PM
I'd order two or three plates of that actually. I love it.lol - mickeynme  177.5 #52 5:38PM
Wow, Dave, you are SO close!! Would love to stay at AKL!! - mrsincredible  1190.2 #5 3:44AM
If you like steak, Yachtsman Steakhouse is a must do. Narcoosee's is great for atmosphere. - goofygal  11004.7 #7 6:09AM
I can't wait to see your pics! - MomWithAJuiceBoxBuzz  1190.7 #146 6:43AM
We've set aside an entire day to enjoy what AKL has to offer, plus, maybe a round of mini golf :)  I would get a schedule as soon as you get there.  I've found one online but it's for September 2011, could be different by now. - DizneyGirl  937.9 #8 11:58AM
Diz, we decided to do Boma for breakfast the morning we go to AK, so we will allow for some sight seeing time around the resort to take in all their Christmas decor, and hopefully get a sneak peak at the animals!! :) - mrsincredible  1190.2 #5 2:02PM
