Good morning mw family!!! Hope everybody had a great night! I have a dilemma, need some help!! Okay so my brother in law is in the military and we were going to stay at Shades. Well yesterday ChipandCo sent out a post a fb that said military families get 40% off at select resorts...so here is the dilemma do we wait until Oct to see what rates will be at other places or go for shades. I also didn't know if we do get that discount at the other hotels would we also get the dining plan included?? My thought was since Shades doesn't offer the dining plan it they still have free dining offered it might end up being cheaper in the long run....Sorry for the rambling lol!!
I'm only guessing but they probably limit the discounted rooms and select resorts may be limited to only a few of those too. You may want to call and verify so you don't miss out in case either of the two get booked. - Jalex239  379.8 #7 11:47AM
Just to give you an idea.....we are staying at Pop over Thanksgiving (so it is an expensive time) for 5 nights plus dining plan and its going to cost us about $2800! - momknowsbest  3.1 #1253 1:02PM
The 1200 for us is 2 adults and 1 child since our 2nd is only a yr. It only includes dining and room for 1200 I think our ph Passes are like 500 for 5 days, so the total would be close to 1700 for everything. - ccmom  174.6 #29 1:44PM
I am retired military, so my wife and I take the discount on the rooms, which ever one fits our situation. We then use the discounted military tickets or the Stars and Stripes tickets. This allows for us to pay more out of pocket for food instead of using the dining plan. This has allowed us to save from 500 to 750 on our trips. We also eat easy things like sandwiches in the room. Nothing difficult. Doing this allows for a couple of character sit down meals. This is just how we do it. I hope this helps. - wchutch  229.2 #19 4:52PM
When was that $460 for 6 nights at Pop? My dd and her bff who is Army are planning a trip in Dec. and were already planning to stay at Pop. It sounds like doing this and paying for the dining plan would be less than pay regular price for the room with the free dining plan. - poohbr1205  13.6 #157 7:46PM
