Question: We have a lot of character dining reservations this trip for our 5yo son, and 9yo niece. Which would you rather choose Hollywood & Dine or Chef Mickey's (keeping in mind we are already seeing Mickey at Tusker, possibly Garden Grill, and Ohana's)? We don't have Cape May or Chef Mickey's on the list this trip (we have done them both and enjoyed both), but feel guilty for not trying to work them in. Can you really see Mickey and Minnie too much?! What do you think???

Chef mickeys!! Never been to Hollywood and dine tho for character dining so I can't give u an unbiased answer..lol. Def try to fit one of them in tho! Y not? :D - mickeynme  217.4 #44 1:21PM
Haha, that would be my first answer, but then I can hear the hubs now (esp for the princess dining): "Why have we seen Cinderella THREE times already?!". LOL!! - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:23PM
The more times the better!! If u can,y not?? Lol. Many ppl would give anything to see Cinderella up close and personal. U only live once right?? Haha:D - mickeynme  217.4 #44 2:03PM
The reason I first chose H&V was only to work some different characters into the dining mix (and, see Jake, who wasn't there last Oct). But, is it worth it to go to Cape May or Chef Mickey's instead even though we'll see Mickey and Minnie (seperately) at Tusker/Ohana? - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:25PM
I don't think that Mickey and Minnie are actually at Ohana I thought it was just Lilo and stitch but ok not sure, also I don't know about tusker house having Mickey to, I'm pretty sure Minnie is there though - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:31PM
Cape May is wonderful! - totfav  8.9 #277 1:31PM
Somewhere I read it was a best friends breakfast with Lilo and Stitch, and Mickey and Pluto, but never been to Ohana's so not sure. - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:32PM
Well I've never been to ohana for breakfast so I'm not sure I'm just guessing since I read there where lilo and stitch there so I don't know since that's all it said - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:36PM
Mickey is at Ohana too! - BodinFabFive  26.3 #150 3:29PM
There's no such thing as seeing to much Mickey and Minnie! It depends on what kind of characters you son and niece want to see, If they want to see the Disney junior characters go to Hollywood and vine, of they love Mickey and Minnie then chef mickeys, but if they want to see princesses don't do either and go to akershus or CRT. - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:26PM
We have ADR's for both CRT and Akershus already, lol. These kids just might be all charactered out by the end, haha!! - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:28PM
Wow! Well then ask them if they prefer disney junior characters or Mickey and Minnie - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:32PM
I'd pick Hollywood & Vine, just to see some different characters. Not sure you can see Jake anywhere else? - DizneyGirl  1417.5 #6 1:31PM
That's what I was thinking, too! I just can't shake the guilty feeling of skipping Chef Mickey's, lol!! - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:33PM
Just remember, you'll be back!! - DizneyGirl  1417.5 #6 4:02PM
LOL, for some reason, I treat every trip like it's going to be my last and feel like I have to see everything, lol!! :) - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 4:34PM
So far, we have 1900 Park Fare (dinner), Tusker, Akershus, Garden Grill, Hollywood & Vine, CRT, Crystal Palace, and Ohana. No Chef Mickey's and no Cape May - there are ADR's still open, debating swapping out one or two to work them in. Decisions, decisions!! - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:31PM
You should probably swap out one of them for chef mickeys since I don't think you can see Mickey anywhere but Chef mickeys but like I said I'm not positive - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:33PM
Well, I do know (I think) that Chef Mickey's is the only one where you can bank on seeing the fab five together. Tusker I guess is hit or miss with Minnie. - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:36PM
Well I know Minnie is at cape may but there is no Mickey there, everyone else is there though - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:38PM
So, that's another reason I think I should definitely swap one out with Chef Mickey's. Ugh, it is just trying to figure out which one. :/ - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:41PM
I think you should swap out either tusker house or garden grill - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:46PM
That is a good idea... Garden Grill is the only place to see Chip and Dale, but they are easy to spot in the parks, plus, Mickey is in his farmer's outfit there, and a chef suit at Chef Mickey's, :) - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:48PM
I agree MrsInc, we met Chip and Dale 3 times last trip. It seemed like they were everywhere. Lol - BodinFabFive  26.3 #150 3:35PM
Does anyone know if you see Mickey and Pluto with Chip and Dale at Garden Grill? - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:38PM
I just read that Mickey Pluto chip and dale are all at garden grill, however not on the Disney site - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:40PM
N the pictures Mickey and Pluto are ther to so yes they are there - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:41PM
OK, thanks for checking that for me!! :). As for Minnie, I think she is at Tusker. Maybe I should swap one out with Chef Mickey's just to ensure we see the Fab 5 - Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy. - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:45PM
Is Goofy only at Chef Mickey's? - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:46PM
And, Cape May? - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:46PM
It looks like he's at tusker house and I know he is at cape may - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:47PM
Cool! Thanks for your help!! :) - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:52PM
Are you guys doing any character dining when you go in a couple of weeks? - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 1:53PM
Yes! We are only doing two though, On our last day and Chef Mickeys in the beginning of the week - nodell111  166.4 #56 1:55PM
CRT on our last day - nodell111  166.4 #56 3:16PM
If it's for breakfast, my vote is Chef Mickeys! - JessiBelle22  78.4 #85 2:00PM
Do feel bad. How can you try new thinks if you only stick with what you know. We have a few favorites but we are exploring other dining this visit. - 5disneylovers  1261.2 #9 3:14PM
Which are your favs? - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 3:19PM
Cape may boma Ohana le cellile those will never be off the list. Ha ha. We are giving up all buffets this year. - 5disneylovers  1261.2 #9 4:07PM
We are trying Ohana for the first time this trip!! :) - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 4:35PM
Go with a empty belly. Your going to love it every bit. - 5disneylovers  1261.2 #9 8:39PM
In my opinion the breakfast was basically the same at Chef Mickeys as it was at H&V. I loved Chef Mickeys and thought it was a little better experience. But my kids loves H&V. They were so excited to meet Jake. And even though they are not big Handy Manny fans they got up and did a conga line with him and danced. Then they danced with June from Lil' Einsteins. Hope this helps! - BodinFabFive  26.3 #150 3:32PM
It does, for sure!! I asked my 5yo when I got home who he most wants to eat breakfast with and he answered Jake, lol. Soooo, I moved some things around, added Chef Mickey's in place of Akershus, since we are doing CRT as well. The only character we'll miss seeing not doing Akershus is Ariel, and we can see her at MK if my niece really wants to see her. :) You all have been SO helpful - thank you!! - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 4:05PM
Not doing Cape May, but I figure we can walk over via the Boardwalk the day we're at EPCOT when we're ready for a break, to just see the Christmas decor over at the Beach Club, and maybe have an ice cream at their little shop (I think I read they have an ice cream shop). And, now I have all the major ones crossed off my list!! :) - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 4:07PM
OK so I'm not aware of all the character dining restaurants. Could someone name them for me plz!!! - yessy  289.2 #32 4:10PM
I've been to crystal palace, chef Mickey's, Hollywood & Vine, akershus, Cinderellas castle and along time ago it was with Donald I think it was restaurantasaurus. - yessy  289.2 #32 4:29PM
We did the Restaurantasaurus in 2005, now I guess it's Tusker. Outside of what you named already, there is Ohana's (which is a fav of most, we are trying it for the first time this trip), 1900 Park Fare, Cape May, Garden Grill, and Garden Grove. - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 4:38PM
Were is cape may, garden cove, ohana's, 1900 park fare, I've never been to none. Hoping to make some rezzis for next years trip. - yessy  289.2 #32 4:43PM
Cape May is at the Beach Club - we did it last Oct (saw Minnie, Goofy and Donald in their bathing suits), Ohana's is at the Polynesian (Mickey, Pluto, Stitch, and Lilo), 1900 Park Fare is at the Grand Floridian (breakfast has Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh and Tigger; dinner has Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tramaine, Drusella, and Anastasia - we are doing this one for the first time this trip, too!) Garden Grill is dinner only at EPCOT with Chip and Dale, Mickey and Pluto, and Garden Grove is at the Swan, and it varies by night who'll be there (could be Pluto, Goofy, Rafiki, etc. depending on when you go). - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 4:50PM
That's awesome so I could make the reservations there even if I'm not staying at the resorts just like chef Mickey's in bay lake. - yessy  289.2 #32 5:00PM
Yep!! That's what we do!! This year, we are eating at most all of the Deluxe Resorts (GF, Poly, Contemporary, and will walk over to Beach Club to visit the day we're in EPCOT) because the resorts are beautifully decorated for Christmas in Nov/Dec!! - mrsincredible  1392.9 #7 5:22PM
We went to Hollywood & Dine when my daughter was 5 years old & she likes Chef Mickey better. I don't think you can see Mickey to much, but it depends on which characters your kids like - perdita  74.4 #89 6:32PM
We did H&V a few times a go. It was cute and had lots of the Playhouse and Disney Jr characters. If the kids enjoy dancing and singing on the main floor with the characters, then this is for them. The characters i saw were: Little Einsteins, Oso, and Handy Many. Some different names for that old autograph book! - samndawn67  21.8 #168 8:31PM
