Hubs and I were throwing around the idea tonight about going to Aulani in Oct '14 to celebrate 10 yrs of wedded bless. Just curious how many of you have experienced it and what your thoughts were. I was surprised at the bad reviews out there (high priced food, lack of restaurant options, etc).

My husband and I went in Jan and loved it! The food options were limited but we are pretty pick eaters so that is some of it. Disney did add one more quick service option a few months ago. Very beautiful there, relaxing, and many free activities, and it's Disney! I didn't care for too many other activities on the island, but loved the resort. If you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation with Disney magic, Aulani is perfect! If you have any questions, just let me know! - Andrea84  625.8 #7 9:08PM
Sounds great!! We definitely love the idea of relaxation, but is there enough to do to have an activity or two planned everyday for a 6-7 day stay? I don't want to feel bored with nothing to do but lay on the beach, lol. - mrsincredible  768.9 #6 3:38AM

I would say spend couple of days in aulani, and couple of days in Waikiki...more to see, and do on waikiki side of the island...dining is very limited near aulani resort...food is expensive near the resort, because it's where to big resorts are located...aulani and koolina resort... - islandgirl58  251.7 #25 11:33PM
Two - islandgirl58  251.7 #25 11:34PM
I lOve Disney, but I would only spend 2-3 days there...I enjoy Waikiki since more to do...shopping, and u really don't need a car on that side of the island.... - islandgirl58  251.7 #25 11:36PM
So, if we did split it up, what are the must see/do's on the Waikiki side? - mrsincredible  768.9 #6 3:39AM
Waikiki is mostly shopping, eating, and beach relaxing...there is also a zoo, and aquarium near by...if u have a car you can tour around the island...it's good to research through google on tour spots, and must do on Oahu...Waikiki at night is more for adults a lot of bars...it's almost like Vegas minus the slot machines lol... - islandgirl58  251.7 #25 7:44AM
Oahu is nothing but beaches...visit the north shore, dole plantation...also in town Arizona memorial, a lot snorkeling at Hanauma bay in Hawaii Kai...also you have boat tours to see dolphin's, fishing ect... - islandgirl58  251.7 #25 7:48AM
Also in Waikiki u can learn how to surf...Aulani you can as well, but little more waves in Waikiki... - islandgirl58  251.7 #25 7:49AM
Was also going to ask, is the first week of Oct good weather wise? Is there ever a time it's too cold to swim? - mrsincredible  768.9 #6 3:41AM
