Hi! Would AK's "It's Tough to be a Bug" be scary for a 6-year-old who is afraid of real bugs, but likes the movie, "A Bug's Life"? Thanks!

ok confession time, I got scared (not last yr but previous times) so here's a spoiler alert******************************************************************* things hit your back and your legs and that scared me!!! not the bugs. even tho I'm terrifed of real life bugs. So when I see bug's life, I always sit with my back off the back and my legs raised a little so I don't feel anything lol. - Polynesiangirl  98.4 #63 7:25PM

My ex didn't warn me about the "sting" part, and I ended up with a bruise ony back. It really hurt. - Lelundrial  478.0 #387 8:29PM

I was so scared of that ride and all rides like it when I was younger - nodell111  166.4 #48 3:46AM
I took my goddaughter to it when she was 3 & she loved it. She's a girlie-girl & hates real bugs too. - Tinkerbell1265  441.1 #17 7:08PM
Thanks everybody!  You guys are awesome and so helpful!!! - BagGal  228.9 #31 4:11PM
Depends on the child. Took my son when he was 5 and he hated it. - Lelundrial  478.0 #387 7:15PM
That's a great question. I think as long as they know it's just pretend, it should be ok. My 5 yr old niece was a little hesitant, but I also made sure she sat on my lap so she wouldn't get freaked out at the end. :) - TangledNdisneY  324.7 #20 7:21PM
My 5 year old was very scared but my almost 2 year old was fine. Really depends on the child. - Ariel42  262.0 #25 7:23PM
Took my son at 4 and he did ok but didn't wear the 3-D classes. It really does depend on the child. I've seen alot of crying kids in this one. - disneycm  607.6 #9 7:24PM
I think the scary part for some kids is when the spiders fall from above....of he's afraid of bugs, that might scare him... - islandgirl58  289.3 #21 7:25PM
You guys are so great!! Thanks for all the tips! So... Back off the chair, legs off the floor, and watch out for falling spiders at the end... Right? If I prepare her, she'll be good to go. - BagGal  228.9 #31 8:15PM
That part with the spiders and stings is pretty loud. I remember my son complaining about that. Although I just asked him and he can't remember. He is 8 now. - Lelundrial  478.0 #387 8:32PM
You got it! My kids worried about the loud noises more so than being scared by the images. When they were little, they would cover their ears! - JetsamsTwin  379.9 #18 8:34PM
The show itself is really cute, with alot of funny parts (stink bug), but yes, if she is sitting back at the end, it will prob freak her out. When we went in Oct, our son was 4 1/2 and he was fine, though I made him sit on my lap. I have seen so many kids get upset during this show. It's quite dark, too...just prepare her and remind her it isn't real and she should be OK. You might try getting in an empty row, so you can move all the way down to the other end by the exits in case you need to take her out mid-show. - mrsincredible  921.1 #5 12:39AM
Great idea! Thanks for your help! - BagGal  228.9 #31 9:30AM
When we took my nieces they were 3 ,let's just say it pretty much scarred them the rest of the trip, lol, everytime after that when we tried to take them to one of the 3d attractions they just kept saying we don't want to see a movie, but I guess every child is different:) - tracsant  1033.7 #2 3:50AM
Oh no! That's terrible for your nieces. Also, you just reminded me that this happened to us when my daughter was 4. She was scared at Mickey's Philharmagic and didn't want to see the Muppets or anything else in 3D. Hmmm... thanks for the reminder! We may have to experience the bugs without her first to make sure. :) Thanks! - BagGal  228.9 #31 9:33AM
It depends on your child. My son loves everything he tries since he was little. My daughter is more cautious and got scared the last time she watched it. She is 6. Just let her try it out n see - Disneyaddict  358.1 #576 10:38AM
I think it depends on the child. My 7 year old gets a little nervous when we do shows because of things like that. My four year old LOVES tough to be a bug and all other shows! - BodinFabFive  26.3 #131 2:56PM
I think she will be ok - skcanfield  474.9 #13 7:57PM
