My daughter and I are just starting to plan a trip to WDW in 2013. The last 2 times we took her kids (our grand kids) there were three or less. Now there are five, ranging in ages next year from 2 to 10. There will be at least three adults. Any suggestions for on site accommodations? I think it looks like we will need two connecting rooms. Those of you who have traveled with large groups, do you have any hints?

we always travel with a big party, we once stayed in Bay lake towers which was great cause we had 7 people with us and we had a room with a master bed/bath, living room with couch bed, kitchen, and another room/ bath, everyone had a place to get ready and sleep comortably but i do believe that bay lake towers is a DVC resort so if you are not a DVC member you cant book there, other times when we have traveled with multiple people coming along we stayed at value resorts and just book multiple rooms. - kerielizibeth  10.5 #225 10:03AM
You can request adjoining rooms even at value resorts. Otherwise, they can try to put your rooms as close together as possible on the same floor. - JetsamsTwin  379.9 #17 10:05AM
The suites at DVC resorts would definately be the best...but if you're not members they're probably to pricey. I know AoA has larger rooms and, as Jalex said, you can request two adjoining rooms. We've done that at POFQ. - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  801.1 #3 10:16AM
go to pop century or the new art of animation the art of animation resort one room sleeps up to 6 people but pop century my family and I always stays there and get connecting rooms I love it you should look there - minniemouse815  7.3 #288 10:18AM
Any of the DVC resorts you can get a 3 or 2 bedroom villa or you can stay at the treehouse villa which can fit up to 12 people also the AoA resort might be good for your amount of people and you can always get adjoining rooms anywhere else - nodell111  165.0 #44 10:53AM
Thanks, nodell! - ally  506.0 #11 11:02AM
There are websites that allow you to rent points from DVC members, usually for $10 per point and you could get a 2 bedroom villa. - Andrea84  625.8 #7 11:18AM
You can rent them at http://MouseOwners.com/ we met another DVC member at my little sisters friends party and they told us about it they said they can sometimes get the points really cheap on mouse owners - nodell111  165.0 #44 11:22AM
Yes, it's a great site. We did a points transfer with another member because we needed more points for another trip! - Andrea84  625.8 #7 3:27PM
Wow, thanks for the info! I will definately file this info away for when we firm up our dates. - ally  506.0 #11 4:48PM
Are the Ft Wildeness cabins an option? Don't they accommodate many and have a small kitchen too? Good luck. Planning is a lot of fun. So many options. - jacdanfan  6243.6 #10 6:17PM
We've looked into these, and probably stay in them next visit. Can sleep 6 - DizneyGirl  546.4 #9 6:58PM
We checked on them because they sound great, but they said the max is 6 plus a baby in a pack and play. We will have 8. I think two adjoining rooms would be better due to it being "legal" plus two bathrooms. - ally  506.0 #11 7:59PM
I love big families in wdw! So cool for u guys! We always just got the same floor except once when I was real little had the adjourning door. In the polynesian - Polynesiangirl  98.3 #63 7:12PM
My daughter and her kids spent last week at our house and we had so much fun, but we're we ever tired when they left! Lol, her husband is a family doctor, so his vacation time is more limited. She takes the children on trips across TX to museums, etc, because she home schools. WDW has classes for home school students and if they attend one or two, you get discounts on your passes for the parents and children. :) - ally  506.0 #11 8:04PM
When I went last time, I stayed at POFQ and loved it. Maybe we can look into adjoining rooms there or one of the values. We aren't DVC, so that's out. Thanks for all the ideas! - ally  506.0 #11 10:30AM
You can still book DVC rooms if you aren't DVC - nodell111  165.0 #44 10:54AM
