Hello everyone!! I'm from the disneyland side if mw, but am happy to say my WDW trip is finally being planned :) I was just wondering for those of you who have been too both dl and WDW, what is your favourite difference between the 2? Anythings that I shouldn't miss in WDW that they don't have in dl?

My fave differences are: Everest (amazing, worth the trip in itself!), all the extra magic hours if you stay at a resort (which I recommend for that reason, the amazing transportation, and the beautiful properties), and the Little Mermaid show at HS! And a bunch more! It really feels like you're in a private world there! - iwannaBAprincess  14.2 #7678 1:17PM
Welcome to this side! My favorite difference is that potc and BTMRR are longer and better at dl but wdw has more parks, test track, rockin roller coaster, and animal kingdom which only has one thing that is the same as dl(well two if you include the rainforest cafe) which is bugs life Epcot and Hollywood studios are also very different then dl and dca but ak has the most differences Also I like the wider variety of restaurants as resorts and the fact that is bigger but it's also nice sometimes that dl is small also it was a park Walt actually got to go to - nodell111  166.4 #48 1:19PM
Hi and welcome to the Fla side,I havent been lucky enough to go DL yet but as for wdw you def should go to epcot ,its absolutely beautiful ,illuminations is wonderful has great food (Crepes yumyum) animal kingdom is also great with everest as a must do but with 4 parks there is so much to and can be a bit overwhelming so we really never have a plan and always have a blast as I'm sure you will ,some great places to eat are ohanas at the poly ,whispering canyon at wilderness lodge ,yactsman steakehouse at yachtclub and chef mickeys at the contemporary, happy planning:) - tracsant  1033.7 #2 11:01AM
I've been to both many times. I love DL because it's the original and you can feel Walt there. It's more densely packed with attractions, so I don't get as tired. However, when it's crowded, you can barely walk! At WDW, the walkways and distances are further and you don't feel as claustrophobic. There are many different rides and some that have been gone from DL, like the people mover and carousel of progress. I think the food and food choices are much better at WDW. It's a huge place with so many things to do, you can't expect to do even 1/2. I love both WDW and DL. Oh, and the heat and humidity can be brutal at WDW. - ally  509.2 #11 11:35AM
I completely agree with all of this (we love the quality of the food at DL more even though there are less options compared to wdw)! - Andrea84  653.2 #8 12:55PM
One of the big differences I discovered it that if you embrace the right mind set you totally leave the real world and live in a fantasy land if you're staying on property. You never encounter the outside world unless you go to Universal or something. So restaurants usually offer something special like in character waiters or an experience, everyone is extra nice and knowledgeable, there's extra thought put into everything, you can take bthe bus everywhere and hotels are amazing just to check out all the details.  - Westcoast  127.8 #2919 1:08PM
Yes, you described the immersion factor perfectly! It's always a bit jarring to leave DL and hit the real world on Harbor.πŸ˜₯ - ally  509.2 #11 1:38PM
But at WDW people are usually going for more days and not leaving the property. Many people go to DL for a day or two. If they go for a week they usually visit other So. Cal. attractions off property. WDW is escapism. - Westcoast  127.8 #2919 3:01AM
My favorite attraction, ToT is way better at WDW and the queue for TSMM is much better too. Of course DL doesn't have a World Showcase (best during the Food & Wine Festival). Finally, DTD is way better (& bigger) at WDW than DL. It's a destination all in itself! - CollegeDisneyKnowledgeGrad  932.1 #3 4:23PM
