Do you guys do all of the parks each time you go? I'm playing with the idea of skipping AK for more time at MK. Some people I know keep talking about Dole whips and I need to make sure I have plenty of time to enjoy them. 😉 However, we were excited to try Tusker House at AK. Hmmmm...

We always go to every park , we don't always stay all day , but we check each one out . Get a Park Hopper for this , that way your not tied to one park that day . - skcanfield  475.2 #13 12:01PM
If you get hopper passes you can do multiple parks on the same day so you won't miss out on any park. I gave skipped AK the last few years opting to spend more time at my favorite park, Epcot. - Tinkerbell1265  442.0 #17 7:12PM
Love Epcot too! - BagGal  228.9 #31 7:44PM
Yep, we love the hopper passes, too! We go to MK the first day and last day (split with another park). We usually try to assign a full day to each park though, then the last day is a free-for-all, and another visit to MK. Last Oct, we hit 3 parks the last day. :) - mrsincredible  922.7 #5 7:18PM
Do you feel like you spend a lot of time going from place to place? I was wondering about that with the park hopper. Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe it's the table service meals that at time killers. - BagGal  228.9 #31 7:46PM
TABLE service meals are def a time killer. We are going to just do 2 or next visit! - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 10:22AM
Didn't mean to shout table, not sure what happened! - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 10:25AM
I don't think we spend to much time going from one place to another, you can just take the monorail or the bus to another park - nodell111  166.4 #49 12:16PM
Last time we said we would skip AK. But just couldn't miss it. Love everst and lion king show - radman70  4.1 #538 7:41PM
I know! I keep going back and forth! - BagGal  228.9 #31 7:43PM
Thanks!! So, you ladies think the park hopper is worth the $$? I've been trying to decide. - BagGal  228.9 #31 7:43PM
Absolutely, loved being able to go to AK in the morning than hitting MK for the afternoon on. - Lelundrial  478.2 #387 8:06PM
Very worth it! There's not too much travel between the parks so you don't really lose much time away from the magic. - Tinkerbell1265  442.0 #17 8:06PM
We always spend an entire day at a park, so need for park hopper and save hundreds of $$ - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 10:26AM
I think the hopper is worth it. I went once and didnt get the hopper and we were stuck at AK on the second day the entire day and was a little bored. This time were getting the hopper. Its nice having the hopper because you can go to EPCOT for dinner every night if you want to. EPCOT has the best places to eat. - disneyworldsbiggestfan  59.3 #87 1:15PM
We don't like to do the parks without the hoppers. Last year there were several days that we spent time in more than 1 park and our last day was a free for all too. We hit 3 parks our last day. - girlonfire  54.1 #93 8:02PM
Park hopper is worth it. We love going from park to park!! - Ariel42  262.0 #25 8:08PM
Cool, thanks everybody! - BagGal  228.9 #31 8:22PM
If you are looking to save time, go with the medium sized dining plan. We had way too much food and spent too much time traveling last time with the full meal plan. I felt bad that the only park I hit really seen is animal kingdom - Plimpton  13.7 #194 9:16AM
I fell ya! Our first trip, all we seem to do was eat and spend time traveling to the places we were going to eat. I felt like we missed out on so much! - BagGal  228.9 #31 10:14AM
One trip the entire family didn't go to AK, but the hubby took the middle daughter.  If your time is really tight and you have to cut out a park, I, myself would cut out AK.  However, knowing it's my 5 year olds fave park, I couldn't do it. - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 9:29AM
Thanks! That's a good idea... To split up a little if we need to. Neither of my girls are big animal lovers (gasp!). I had to drag them to the zoo last month and in the end they liked their ice cream as their fave part! - BagGal  228.9 #31 10:16AM
We almost always divide a conquer. I have a little one that can't ride thrill rides, so her and I do the mild rides and shows. - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 10:24AM
Here's my thoughts on park hopper.  We plan which day we will visit a park and spend the entire day there (with a mid-day pool break), since we can spend an entire day at a park we don't park hop.  However, if I were to have a day or two that I was going to park hop, I'd buy a ticket for an extra one or more days, it's cheaper.  Follow me?  So, say you are buying 7 day tickets, add park hopper it's $1250 (for a family of 4), BUT if you know you are going to park hop only 2 of those days, buy a 9 day ticket for $1094, this saves you $156!  Or if you have 5 day  tickets at $1186 and want to park hop three of those days, buy 8 day tickets for $1062, saving $124! - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 10:36AM
I like the cost break down. I agree with you. I'd rather spend more time enjoying each park then taking transportation between parks. The only reasons I would consider a park hopper ticket is if I went for a short visit or wanted to dine in different parks then I was spending the day in. - NikkiMickey  1685.5 #79 11:32AM
Wow, I thought I was the only one, LOL! I just can't justify the cost. We try to nickel and dime (sorta) our trips, that gets us to go every year! - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 11:43AM
I think sometimes people will go to one park most of the day because it's projected to be lower crowds, but then that evening they want to see a show at another, like Fantasmic (since it's not going on every night during value season). This I understand, but again would just buy an extra day and still have a lot! - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 11:44AM
I'm so glad you explained this!!!! Thank you!!!! I was wondering about this exact idea just today! We have 7 day tickets penciled in, but if we go to DD the first night, we'll have an extra day ticket. So, I would be able to use one ticket the morning at AK and then one ticket for the evening at Epcot, right? - BagGal  228.9 #31 1:15PM
The problem with that and we did run into this is once your card is scanned for that day you cant scan it again. The parks wont let you use single day passes as hopper passes. We tried that and were very bummed out. - disneyworldsbiggestfan  59.3 #87 1:17PM
Yep! - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 1:17PM
We did this, but it was in 2009 - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 1:19PM
OH! Okay. That's good to know!! Thank you so much for your help! - BagGal  228.9 #31 1:26PM
I say don't skip ak, there's alot to do there even though most people say it takes only half a day, when we go there we never seem to do everything we want, it's fun seeing the animals and there are also fun rides there and a finding nemo show, and you should go to the Tusker house, plus you don't need a full day to get a dole whip(even though they are delicious), if you don't have time to get one when you are at MK then you can just go there with a park hopper or leave ak if you get bored with it - nodell111  166.4 #49 12:00PM
AK is always a full day for us too and we don't see it all! - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 12:18PM
I dont see how people get bored with it and only spend a half day there, well I did spend a whole day at the NY aquarium once and didnt get to see everything when we were there but I knew someone that only went for a hour and then they were done - nodell111  166.4 #49 12:38PM
I guess we stop and smell the roses :) - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 12:40PM
I guess so :) - nodell111  166.4 #49 12:41PM
I love AK. I spend 1 day there and then hit DTD. I dont think i could go to WDW and not visit AK. But if i was short on time i would probably cut that park out before any other park. - disneyworldsbiggestfan  59.3 #87 1:08PM
I think you're right. We really want to try Tusker House and my husband said he doesn't want to miss Expedition Everest. We didn't have time for many rides there in the past. I think we took too long going trough the animal area and going to that cool character area. Maybe next time, we need to start on the other side. Anyway, thanks for your help!!! - BagGal  228.9 #31 1:19PM
Great idea, AK and DTD! I'm going to do this! Last visit we did AK, then visited AKL, then went to dinner at The Wave, then swimming! - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 1:21PM
That's what we did too! AK then DTD. We were exhausted though. Next time, I'm going to make us take little breaks. :) - BagGal  228.9 #31 1:29PM
Stop and smell the roses you guys are funny!! :) - disneyworldsbiggestfan  59.3 #87 1:30PM
We do AK and DTD on the same day as well since AK closes early. :) - disneyworldsbiggestfan  59.3 #87 1:31PM
Thank you, DizneyGirl!! What a FANTASTIC tip you just gave me!!!!!!!! - BagGal  228.9 #31 1:21PM
I confirmed they no longer allow this :( - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 1:29PM
Boo! Well, it was a fantastic idea anyway! - BagGal  228.9 #31 1:35PM
Thanks for checking!! - BagGal  228.9 #31 1:36PM
When we did it we had military tickets and it was several years ago. I don't know whether we just got away with it or if they changed it :( Sorry, I was so excited to help you save some $$ - DizneyGirl  671.3 #7 1:37PM
Aw, that's okay! I appreciate you filling me in on your insider tip anyway! They probably just changed it. - BagGal  228.9 #31 1:39PM
