My aunt just told me that she is taking my son and i to Universal Studios for a day. I have never been there, is there anything that i should make sure i see? I know she wants to see the Harry Potter thing. My son is 6 years old is this park too old for him?

Is she getting the park hopper ticket? We are doing a day there this summer, and I was looking up the ride locations online. The HP world is in 1 park, and there are a few rides a 6 year old can go on. It could just be me, but it seemed like that park was not an all day thing.

No, it really doesn't take long if your not doing any thrill rides :-) - justGoofin  128.8 #55 9:41AM
My son is only 2 years older than her's, so we won't be. So I told him we are definitely buying the park hopper. Honestly, he just wants to go there and get a wand. Won't stop talking about it. Wants to go to the other side of the country to get a wand, and a broom. But I told him I am not buying him a broom. Just as bad as when we went to the bahamas and he got a sandwich from Subway. - Lelundrial  440.1 #418 11:33AM

ET is very cool! - justGoofin  128.8 #55 4:15PM
They have some kid rides. Are you just going to the kid attractions? 1 day 2 park pass might be an option if your not doing any thrill rides. - justGoofin  128.8 #55 5:26PM
I Love universal! DEFINATLY ET! - MunetMorelloMouse  15.6 #174 5:19PM
Men in black ..is so much fun ..also bring some swim trunks they have a big splash area from woody wood pecker and friends.. also they have Simpson's ride that's fun a little dizzy but cool..:) - Disneymom36  62.4 #81 6:05PM
What a great surprise for you & your son!โœจ๐ŸŒŸโœจ - Tinkerbell1265  441.1 #13 6:06PM
Thank you all for the tips on Universal. I will bring the swim trunks, check out Harry Potter, ET and Men in black. I think we will only be going for 1 day. I know the park is huge but i would rather spend my time in Disney parks. :)  Thanks again for the tips! - disneyworldsbiggestfan  53.7 #88 8:36AM
I wasn't suggesting 2 days..the 1 day 2 park pass will let you go to both parks for that one day so you could hit all the kiddie rides at both Universal and Islands. I would only do that if you were strictly just doing kid rides and not riding any of the thrill rides. Have fun! - justGoofin  128.8 #55 9:11AM
Ohhh i didnt even think of that. I dont know what pass she is buying? I need to look into the other park too. Im just going with the flow. lol - disneyworldsbiggestfan  53.7 #88 9:40AM
There is a Dr.Seuss land that looks like it jumped out of one of his books like cat in the hat( this is in Islands of adventure . I love that area. There is also a place that serves green eggs and ham.In universal studios ย there ย is also a Curious George water area so bring swim clothes. Last time we were there Barney was still there but i am not sure about that. There is also Feivel from American tale play area. Universal has rides that are more height restricted than Disney so I would check their website about it.ย  - majickingdom79  77.3 #71 9:21AM
ya thats what i ment - poohbear6382  37.5 #106 9:30AM
Oh thank you majickingdom for remembering that mouses name ..feivel I kept raking my brain last night..lol - Disneymom36  62.4 #81 9:43AM
I loved him when I was a kid. I wanted to go west too with him lol! - majickingdom79  77.3 #71 9:46AM
I LOVE Dr Suess....i hope she gets that pass now! It sounds like the Island one is more for a 6 year old. Is Harry Potter on the Island pass or just Universal? Oh boy this sounds like a ton of fun!!!! - disneyworldsbiggestfan  53.7 #88 9:43AM
I believe Harry Potter is in islands of adventure. I haven't been since HP was added. I am with Justgoofin, get the 1 day 2 park pass, because there is plenty to do with him in both parks. Plus you won't be restricted to just one park. - majickingdom79  77.3 #71 9:49AM
^^ yeah HP is on the Islands area, with the Super Hero rides. Hope you all enjoy. - Lelundrial  440.1 #418 11:35AM
If you're wanting to do Harry Potter, get there early and plan to spend half the day there. - IndyandMarion  1236.6 #1 9:51AM
Thanks Indy we will have to do that!  As for the comment about wanting a broom and wond and eating subway. I laughed really hard at that! My son is just like that, but with Pirate stuff! I swear i bought the entire store the last time i was there and im hoping it hasnt changed that much so i donthave to but that store out again. lol All my son ate last time was chicken nuggets the entire trip. I wanted him to try other things but he didnt like anything else. We will see how it is this time around. He will be 1 1/2 years older.  Thanks for your help everyone! - disneyworldsbiggestfan  53.7 #88 1:34PM
Haha, creatures of habit. - Lelundrial  440.1 #418 1:35PM
The Dr Seuss area is fun. That side is not even a full days worth. - DisneyLisa78  41.1 #102 5:31PM
It's a fun park for all ages. There are plenty of rides and attractions he should enjoy. There are several water rides where you will get soaked so bring quick dry clothes including footwear or changes. Make use of the lockers and zip lock bags!
