For those of you who fell in love with the homemade pixie dust and was wanting to experience it  with your child: First of all, I found cutting the glow stick and removing the contents to be quite challenging so I suggest that an adult should handle that part but if you are looking for another safe and non toxic alternative try the Crayola Glow Sand. This product I found at my local Walmart. I haven't tried it personally but according to the description on pkg it should create the same effect.
