Saw this on Micechat. Possible new map! #StarWars land

This is like the 10th one micechat put out. They keep changing it as its they're guess. I'm waiting for the Disney one as there artist rendering blew my mind! (Last week MC  map had the train going another way and a couple months ago the train was around Star Wars land so it shows its all guessing).  - secretagentangel  4717.8 #28 7:47PM
But it's interesting to guess so my hope is there is a walk around to critter country from the other side!  - secretagentangel  4717.8 #28 7:57PM
Seems like every time I look at their website, there's a new "theory" about the island πŸ˜‚  It's definitely fun to guess and speculate  - Spoonful_O_Sugar  613.1 #331 8:03PM
They keep adjusting what they think will happen to the island πŸ˜‚ last week wasn't most of the mermaid's upper body gone?   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  613.1 #331 5:38PM
Indeed! That's why I'm alll whaaaa? - misschurro  6367.7 #17 8:05PM

Good evening everyone! We are looking for help with planning our Aulani trip! We are wondering if anyone has advice for any hidden gems of Oahu or must dos! We of course are planning to see Pearl Harbor, a surf lesson, a luau and Dole plantation! Photo credit Aulani website. Thanks folks!

Okie dokie, I live about 15 minutes away from the Aulani and am happy to answer any questions you might have. Pear Harborβœ… surfing βœ… Dole Plantation βœ… and a luau βœ… There is actually a very nice luau within walking distance of the Aulani, and I highly recommend it. That particular luau uses a small cove for some entertainment features, and it's gorgeous. I go there almost weekly and swim with turtles, definitely worth doing. Will you have a rental car? How long are you staying, and at what time of the year? What sorts of things do you want to do while you are here? Hiking? Beach bum? Sightseeing? I ask as every person has a different view of what a Hawaiian vacation should be.  - DarthTinkerbell  752.3 #251 4:47PM
That sounds awesome! We were hoping for a good luau close by! Does it have a name? Yes we have a rental! We are staying 9 nights in total first 4 nights in Waikiki and last 5 in aulani. We want to do everything!! Haha! Just don't want to miss out! Right now we have a couple unplanned days to work with! Things I didn't mention that we are planning is the kualoa ranch movie tour and a visit to the north shore! - MJmouse  288.9 #982 5:21PM
We will be there end of February beginning of March! - MJmouse  288.9 #982 5:32PM
DarthTinkerbell, I'm definitely going to keep you in mind for future suggestions & recommendations regarding this trip! That is, if my family and I ever make it there πŸ˜‰ - MaddForMansion  226.9 #1644 5:49PM
The luau is called Paradise Cove. I have done this one before (and see the beach entertainment every week) and it is loads of fun. It will be whale season while you are here, so I very much recommend taking a tour to see the whales. Diamond Head is a must in Waikiki, and if you like to hike you can try Koko head, but that one is tough! However, the views from  the top are some of the best. When we go to Waikiki we always buy a loaf of bread and feed the fish off a pier where it's protected from fishing. It is a lot of fun for the kids to see all the tropical fish so close. Up at the North Shore the waves should be big, and don't forget to get a shave ice. They are the best up there! There is good snorkeling complete with turtles in a lagoon by the Aulani, you will love it!  I highly suggest visiting as many beaches as possible as they are all different. From the sand, to the surf, to the scenery...it's definitely worth experiencing as many as you can. You can always DM me with any questions and most certainly let me know when you are here so I can come out and say hi!   - DarthTinkerbell  752.3 #251 6:29PM
MaddForMansion absolutely! I am always happy to help.😊 - DarthTinkerbell  752.3 #251 6:31PM
You are the best!!! Thanks! Sounds like some great info there and I hadn't thought of whale watching! I really appreciate the time you put into answering my questions! 😘😘 - MJmouse  288.9 #982 6:37PM
I would highly recommend the Polynesian cultural center. We only went for a few hours but I'd recommend at least 4 hours, it's free minus the luau or fire dance. It's has  free plays and many many free shows regarding different Polynesian culturals, we thought we would get bored but it was amazing!! - traci3magic  0.2 #0 6:21PM
Thanks we've been wondering about the Polynesian centre! - MJmouse  288.9 #982 6:38PM
When did you visit? I just did a quick check on prices, and the only thing for free is children visiting who are under 4 years old. You really scored a huge deal on your trip! Very lucky, for sure. - DarthTinkerbell  752.3 #251 7:10PM
We did the Polynesian Cultural Center and my mini and we loved it. They have a Luau and show so you might not need Paradise Cove if you don't want two. - DLKenCA  2630.3 #50 9:28PM
Very true DLKenCA. I forgot all about that luau. - DarthTinkerbell  752.3 #251 9:43PM

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with "renting" DVC points? Is it legit? Seems a bit sketchy!

DVCrequest.com is reputable.  I have never used as  I am a member but know many who have and its always been a good experience.  - streetsweeper  529.7 #392 12:37PM

Check mouse owners .com they will have a bunch of dates available for around 10 to 12 dollars a point. I'm a member and have never had to rent but I know people who do. Also David vacation rentals is very legit. I think it's 14 dollars a point. I would check it out and see if you can save some money. - richiii3  1173.5 #153 3:02PM

I have a question for anyone that has been to Aulani. We are looking to go and are comparing the standard rooms to the standard villas. Would you recommend one over the other, any perks to either? We have never been and are hoping for some insight! Thanks in advance!

The villas usually come with full kitchen. Aullani doesn't have a lot of food choices so you can save quit a bit of money making breakfast in the room. The villas have more room also. When we went it wasn't that much more for a villa  - DLKenCA  2630.3 #50 12:59PM
Yes, I'm seeing that price wise they are simalar which makes me wonder why one wouldn't get a villa?! Thought maybe there was a drawback. - MJmouse  288.9 #982 1:08PM
Yes, if you get a villa there is a ABC store across the street which you can buy breakfast food and lunch if you want to save some money or we got cereal and milk from the ABC store and then had a snack during the day while out at the beach/pools and ate dinner either across the street or at the hotel 😊 We saved money for all the merchandise and pins we wanted πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ - AlyssaDisneyland  106.7 #0 3:11PM
This is fantastic information! Keep it coming! - MJmouse  288.9 #982 7:16PM
This might sound silly but is the abc store easy to walk to? I know you mentioned it's across the street but sometimes that stilly require a car lol - LittleMermaidLover  290.6 #971 11:28AM
ABC store is probably a 5 minute walk down the hill to a shopping center across the street. Not too bad. Prices are "reasonable" for Hawaii. - DLKenCA  2630.3 #50 1:55PM
Thanks DLKenCA - LittleMermaidLover  290.6 #971 1:27PM
villa, villa, villa!  Besides the full kitchen there is a washer and dryer.  We went home with clean clothes.  This was a one bedroom villa. Ours was standard view and we had a great view of the Night time show.  - cinderelli  383.1 #586 2:45PM
Awesome! While reading about the villas I wasn't sure if they all have kitchens/washer and dryer or not. - MJmouse  288.9 #982 3:13PM
Yeah. that was another big deal. You can wash wet clothes...that you will get wet daily when swimming. - DLKenCA  2630.3 #50 12:37AM
We stayed in a Villa.  We saved a lot of money by going to Costco and buying groceries there.  We only ate out once a day. By the way, you are absolutely going to love it there!  The snorkeling is awesome. You can book some excursions from the travel company in the Lobby.  If you get a chance to go to Waikiki, try to eat at Dukes!  - luvthemouse  277.9 #1076 8:32AM
Thanks a million!! 😊I really do appreciate all the great advice and tips! - MJmouse  288.9 #982 3:42PM
If you like the Disney Dooney Bags they have some there that are Aulani specific. I splurged and bought one for me and my daughter.  - luvthemouse  277.9 #1076 6:08AM
