Hello, I'm a married 37 year old Disneyland fan who visited the parks for the first time 2 years ago. As a costume maker, I love seeing the Disney costumes. Living in Los Angeles, I'm in the parks often. If you see me, say hi.

The FPs aren't unlimited. The earlier you get them...the better. The later show is usually less crowded. The dining FPs are nice, but not always worth the expense.

Looks to me like Blue Bayou is the best for fence huggers! .  - secretagentangel  1696.0 #87 3:26PM
But that's for Fantasmic isn't it?  I think they're asking about WOC in DCA.  - TiggersAndTinks  130.5 #2943 6:31PM
Oh I thought they meant DL. Then I would say FP's are good without dinner or lunch if you would rather do that for WOC.  - secretagentangel  1696.0 #87 9:03PM
Consider renting a paddle boat to get a really up close and personal view of the show...remember, give yourself some distance from the shooting flames! Wade out into the water by the old tortilla factory, and a CM will bring one out to you! - gobigdan  10.2 #9939 7:25PM
We just did the dinner package at wine trattoria last night. The food was great. WoC, not so much. I didn't like it like i like the original. We got there at 8:30 and got the last spot next to the stairs, second level. Corner spot so we had a perfect view! We got a little wet and def felt those flames! Even with the dinner FP it's better to show up earlier for a spot - wickedale  378.9 #554 12:01AM

Checked the Weather Channel app and next week should be mid 80's all week. Californians do not know REAL humid. We are so spoiled with great weather. But I always tie a light sweatshirt around my waist or jam one in a backpack for cooler nights, and inside buildings. Ive returned a Dooney to the Vault after my 30 days was up. I was issued a merchandise credit in lieu of a refund. And I always ask if I can return a bag incase I change my mind. I'm told I have 30 days with receipt.

So my sister went to city hall about what happened to her. One CM said to go to the manager about it, but she told the CM that the store told her its 3day exchange policy.... on a good note, one plaid hear her and said, there is no such thing as 3day return, ITS 30 DAYS! LET ME CALL THE MANAGER RIGHT NOW... and there you go, my sister was able to replace the bag ans ahe is now happy and worry-free - otilegna  2170.1 #64 7:06AM

Maybe she needs a break for a while. Time away from Disney may make her more excited for it later.

Buy her a pass to Knott's....she'll be begging to come back to Disneyland!  πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - DisneyDavidEMT  2280.4 #56 9:20AM
Maybe she'd enjoy DL more if she were allowed to pick the attractions? Sounds like she's being coerced into riding what the adults want to go on. You mentioned several attractions that she does like, why not make those the focus?  - Atora  2674.7 #42 7:38AM
Honestly, I feel like these trips should be about her. If you want to go on specific attractions, perhaps solo trips, or trips with friends, sans kids, may be more appropriate. I feel like you are setting yourself up for disappointment when you are trying to weight the trip in your favor, rather than in your granddaughter's. I know this sounds harsh...but you might find more pleasure in these trips if you focus on creating magic for her. - Atora  2674.7 #42 9:28AM
I agree with this. She's still a young child. Not every young kid wants to ride Star Tours and Soarin all the time. Heck I know adults that won't go near either. Maybe she has a fear of darkness? Heights? Loud sounds? If you bring young ones the focus will and should be on what they want to do. You can come without the kid, the kid can't experience any of it without the adult, if that makes any sense. - missmimi90  1982.3 #70 9:42AM
missmimi90 Brings up a good point--she might have a bit of a fear or even be getting a touch of motion sickness, but not know how to communicate it.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  592.7 #320 9:46AM
Great points missmimi90 and Spoonful_O_Sugar! I'm an adult who loves thrill rides, but can not handle Star Tours. 😷 - Atora  2674.7 #42 10:23AM
She does pick. She's never been coerced into anything.  - FairyGrandmother  292.0 #902 5:09PM
I think there are some people who don't like a lot of rides. A friend of mine took her daughter when she was around age 3 and she wanted to meet all the characters, so that is mostly what they did. My kids have been a few times and we try to introduce them to a new thing or two each time. They still have never been on Alice or the dark rides in fantasyland. Haunted Mansion is one of my favs but they won't do it yet. They have been on jungle cruise but can't appreciate the awesome jokes yet. We don't have a pass so only get to go once a year ish, so maybe what helps us is talking about what we all want to do and see and what we might try that is new on our next trip. Even with a pass and going more frequently, maybe that would help her? - LookSomethingShiny  28.7 #5707 12:46PM
Thank you all for your input. I think a few people didn't understand what my post was about. I don't always express myself very well in writing. So it might be my fault. I have my own pass. I go alone and I participate in meetups. I've never not had a good time. This isn't grandma trying to get a four year old to do only what grandma wants. My mini seems to have fallen into a rut. Rides she has enjoyed, like Pirates, she doesn't want to go on anymore. She's not interested in jungle cruise any more either. She loves haunted mansion and wants to go on it all the time. I just think she'd have more fun sometimes if we had others to go with. We mix things up too. Parades, rides, shows...  We throughly enjoy our visits, they are very special for both of us.  - FairyGrandmother  292.0 #902 5:45PM

Jedi training is great! My daughter was picked last summer when she had just turned 5. She was the smallest/youngest looking kid they picked. She jumped up and down excitedly when they were choosing. She loved it and got to fight Darth Maul. Her and her brother had cheapo light sabers at home, but then they saw the customizable ones at the Star Trader and wanted them. After being picked, they were thrilled to get them! We kept them packed away in the park. They caused modest mayhem in the hotel room. And they still play with them a year later here at home! I hope your mini loves it! We will be there this Monday and Tuesday and will try to be chosen again! - LookSomethingShiny  28.7 #5707 12:33PM

Yes, you can go and just have dessert! I'd go to the reservation podium first thing in the morning during the busy summer to make a reservation and then tell your server you're just having dessert. This way you can be quicker than eating an entire meal (all-you-care to eat BBQ) and you'll free up the table for the next person/family. Stay and enjoy the entertainment during your dessert though, it's really fun! - Catski23  5.0 #0 7:26AM
