Disney has been part of my life since I was little. I successfully brainwashed my husband to love Disney, and we are raising a son who loves Disney.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/234094570021776/,  this is a Dooney disney facebook group, sometimes you can find older Dooneys on it for sale. There are a few of us from MW on this page. - Sleepingbeautysmom  298.3 #834 8:57PM
Awesome! Thank you so much! 😊 - ames013  76.9 #3779 8:59PM
I'll keep my eye open for this one if we go to the parks this Sunday. It took me over a year to finally pick the first Dooney I wanted! Found it on eBay because it was no longer sold in the parks... And it was a fairly good price! And was in excellent condition as well. So you may want to see if there are any good deals on there as well.  - Madgesty  68.0 #3955 10:45PM
Thank you so much ! That's really sweet. I appreciate it! ☺️ And I am keeping an eye on eBay. Crazy how they range from "like new" for $145, and new for almost $300! - ames013  76.9 #3779 11:25PM
I'm on a Facebook Dooney & Bourke group and they go on sale occasionally from folks selling their bags.  - Plumiegirl  8344.4 #3 11:17PM

I did this April 2013. I had my DL annual pass. I booked my hotel and mentioned I would be upgrading my DL pass to the Premier Pass. I was able to choose a dining plan because I had an annual pass. Once I checked into the hotel and made my way to my first park, I upgraded my pass at the ticket center. When I returned to my hotel, I was able to provide my Premier Pass and get my room rate adjusted for the annual pass discount. I stayed at POP value resort. I was by myself due to a work conference. When I travel with my 6'1" husband, I go with the resorts that offer at least a queen-sized bed. Most value resorts only offer a full.( One of those weird things that I take into consideration so we can sleep comfortably.) We are going next month and have the dining plan because it is free during the dates we are there. We would have chosen it if we did have to pay. We aren't big drinkers, so it's ok with us to have sodas. We are able to eat at places where one plate might be $30+ for dinner which would normally prevent us from eating at such a place. We're never hungry with the dining plan, and we make great use of it.  I would recommend looking at the plans and deciding if it is for you. Keep in mind reservations for table service restaurants open way in advance if you stay on property,  and most people make their reservations the first day they can. Also, being in CA, I was able to make our FP+ reservations at 9pm PST the day before I was technically supposed to be able to book them because they are based off EST - duckymomo  36.3 #4967 11:20AM

I don't know because I did mine all separate for various reasons but ask this on MW Florida.  They will be a ton of help with all of these questions!!   - MinnieMousewife  805.4 #197 10:41AM
I will thanks.  I just figured there are probably more people on this side who have premier passes.  So you did not do the meal plan?  It's probably more than what we want anyway. We like to eat when we want and not plan everything out... - AZDisney  610.2 #289 10:50AM
I missed that part, sorry!! Β We did not do the meal plan because I have 2 young kids and we weren't doing the super fancy places. Β So for us, the $ didn't make sense at all. Β I calculated the total cost of the meal plan for all 4 of us and knew we'd never spend that much. Β We ended up not even spending half for all meals on our trip, even with 3 character meals a few nicer places and tons of snacks and treats everyday lol. Β For the meal plan it just really depends on what kinds of places you'll be eating at. Β Hope this makes sense. Β How exciting you're going to wdw!!Β  - MinnieMousewife  805.4 #197 11:05AM
Thank you!  We don't normally eat 3 full meals plus snacks anyway.  Probably better for us to eat when and what we want with AP discount.   - AZDisney  610.2 #289 12:32AM

Gah! you are blessed my friend! I'll be following this post myself, as it peaks my interest in upgrading. Did you happen to see yesterday's Disney Parks Blog post regarding "Winter Stays in WDW" you may want to check that out to see if it would benefit your upcoming trip.  - FrankenweenieVelinee  1630.1 #84 6:32AM
I am lucky!  Carter has a conference in Orlando, I am going to meet him at the end of it.  I did see the winter stays rate.  It is $134 + taxes without AP at a value resort during the time we want to go.  I'm sure February is off season too.  Weather should be nice. - AZDisney  610.2 #289 7:59AM
It's a good deal to upgrade, if you have a premium pass.  The difference is $330/per pass.   - AZDisney  610.2 #289 8:02AM
AZDisney which dates in Feb.? the only way Snoop will go, is if it runs in line with Daytona 500 **eyeroll**, and that, I believe is on Feb. 22nd.  - FrankenweenieVelinee  1630.1 #84 9:28AM
We only paid $103 for a value resort. Honestly, I like where we stayed for the price. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  635.0 #269 9:35AM
FrankenweenieVelinee. We were looking at 2/18-2/24.  But my husband texted me that it may have to wait. 😒. He just found out about a big project for then and can't take the time.  We might have to push it to April.  But April is a big anniversary for us, so that might be better.  HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper where did you stay?   - AZDisney  610.2 #289 9:55AM
The All Star Sports Resort. It was the first stop for the buses, which was nice after a long day. It was a tad Motel 6ish, but I've gotten that impression from all the value resorts. It wasn't bad though. If you're going all the way out there, and like Harry Potter at all, I highly suggest going to Universal for a day. It was unreal! - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  635.0 #269 11:52AM

Good for you, Dave! You're right that it is a lifestyle.  I started eating better and exercising regularly (cardio only) and lost 30 pounds between February and July. I added strength training in August and have lost another 8 pounds, but I look leaner. It definitely does not happen overnight,  but I tell myself it took 10 years to pack it on, and I'm surprised I've lost almost 40 pounds  More...

Thank you for sharing Dave, very inspirational.  I've started eating healthy just this past month because I feel finally settled in at work, and I need something more sustainable for my 10 hour shifts. It's so easy to just grab something unhealthy but we've done a lot of replacing foods in our house for healthier options. I even had the ultimate test when I went to DL last week.  Darn brownie cupcake called my name so loud, but cravings pass or you just have a little. My Drs I'm working with have told me to look at food as a bad relationship that you don't want to go back to. That seems to work for me since I'm an emotional eater. You've shared your story before and I just want to let you know you've inspired me again. Next time I see you you're getting the biggest goat smelling hug ever. LOL - MrsSchnooks  2925.5 #38 6:55AM

I have always wanted to dine at Napa Rose, especially after seeing reviews on MW.  I've looked at the menu and thought how good everything sounded, but my husband is a picky eater and would not enjoy the meal so it would not be the experience I would like. If you are not a picky eater, I would try Napa Rose because as you said, you should try it at least once

Thanks for the input everyone. I am thinking I will stick with my napa rose reservations :) - kbritt27  278.1 #968 9:35PM

Its always hard to make tough decisions around food. I cant help because I havent had the privledge to dine at either. This is good advice.  Look at some reviews and pictures of the food at both.  Also, what kind of food do you like?  Napa Rose is more high concept than 55, you may find that it is not to your liking if you are more of a meat and potatoes kind of eater. - bluefairy  643.3 #263 9:53PM

We took our son when he was 6 months and now he is 6 years. He has been MANY times in between, and it's the feelings of happiness and being with family that stay with them, if not the memories when they're young. My son seems to remember more than I thought he would. Good for you for giving your child this experience!

When my son was six months old, we took him for the first time. We were ap holders, and the trip was really more for us than for him anyway. But we ended up in line behind the sweetest older couple who started discussing the pros and cons of bringing a baby that young to the parks. The husband insisted (somehow without seeming insulting) that it was a waste of time and money since the baby wouldn't remember any of it. The wife, however, said something I'll never forget: "he won't remember the particulars of this trip, but he'll know he had a happy childhood. He'll have pictures that he can look back on as proof of how much his parents loved him, and he'll know that his smiles and giggles at this age were a big deal, as they should be." I don't know why that stuck with me, but I think about it every time someone says a baby shouldn't go to Disneyland.  - LittleAprilShowers  559.5 #319 10:39AM
Also as parents we get to have the memory. It starts as babies that they love Mickey and all disney. I had so much fun experience the joy and excitement my children had the first time they saw Mickey and I wouldn't trade that memory for anything.  - Bassplayerswife  205.2 #1828 10:45AM
We were just telling my son how before he could even say Mickey he called him "Dot dog" (because of the hot dog dance) and would do his dance for him. His reply was "I must've been really cute."πŸ˜‚ - LittleAprilShowers  559.5 #319 10:47AM

Aww! Brought a tear to my eyes this is so cute!!! - ILuvSleepingBeauty  215.4 #1695 10:11AM
If I was coming from out of the area to bring my baby for a quick trip, I might reconsider (or at least admit the trip was for the wife and I). But my youngest is 1 and she loves the parks as much as my other two. Something for everybody! Also, free child is nice and so is a lap child, so the limitations on rides are few.  No matter what, great memories at the end of the day!! - chrismis21  492.7 #383 12:40PM
We just got a few attitudes from friends when they found out we were coming. They were like they won't remember it! That's why there are pictures. And I'll remember it too. πŸ˜πŸ˜›πŸ˜œ - Dsc1983  10.3 #9401 1:00PM
I went when I was 2, my brother was a newborn, so he didn't go.  I have a few sketchy memories (mostly of a dark scary ride, lol), but to this day I still like to look at the pictures and they make me smile, so there!  πŸ˜œ - bluefairy  643.3 #263 1:15PM
