Luuuuckkkyyy. How does this happen. :'(
In the morning on a non rainy day ask at the main street train station if the Lilly Belle is running today. You can make reservations there and come back at your designated time. The car is beautiful and you get a round trip around the park with a cast member. The cast member will talk about Disneyland and answer questions the whole trip. It's really fun and free :) - danee0123  114.0 #3184 2:26PM

Cookies and ice cream? Rainbows and puppies? Whiskers on kittens? Come on folks, just a simple yes or no would be nice. :) lol
I think the pass/ticket requirement should not go by age... It should go by height... I passed off my kid as 2 until she was 4 because she is small/pettite. I didn't think it was fair to have to buy her a full price pass since a lot of the attractions at Disney and CA Adventure park require you to be 40" or taller to be able to ride. That's why I say a better system would be to go by height rather than age... At 40" you should have to buy a pass or ticket for your child. They should have a place for kids to be measured at the gates just like the attractions have. If they are 40" time to buy a pass/ticket. That way their is no trying to guess age, or trying to hide your kid in a stroller. I always felt shady doing that... But it's just not fair to charge as much for a small child that can't go on everything. 😌 so says I.... - BambooMike  133.4 #2840 12:34PM
I think universal studios has something like this! Key word I Think lol - MikaDreamsEverythingDisney  249.1 #1249 12:36PM
I agree with you that it should go by height. I think that's fair. However, we don't get to decide these things and have to deal with it. - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #162 12:37PM
But we do decide... It just takes enough people to complain. Disney is in no way a perfect company they make many mistakes and in my opinion this is one of their biggest. 2nd only to the Princess fantasy fair meet and greet setup... - BambooMike  133.4 #2840 12:59PM
Please keep in mind there are almost 50 'rides' for the under 40" crew and only about 16 they can't ride. Over 70 attractions they can experience and that's not including parades. - Linzee  896.6 #173 1:03PM
Go ahead and complain. Let me know how that works out for you. - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #162 1:10PM
Ps, I like you linzee. Stay awesome. - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #162 1:10PM
Complaining is completely different from purposefully sneaking a child in...just sayin' - Darlingwendi  897.9 #172 1:11PM
Here is the list of rides a child under 40 can't ride... Starting with DCA...Radiator Springs racers... TOT... Soarin over Ca... Grizzly River Rapids... California Screamin...Goofy's sky school... Jumpin Jelly Fish... Now Disneyland... Big Thunder Mt... Indiana Jones...The Matterhorn... Space Mt. .. Splash Mt. and Star tours... Tell me those aren't the best attractions at both parks... Therefor unfair to the vertically challenged (small kids). - BambooMike  133.4 #2840 1:26PM
Ahhh 40" not kids under 40. - BambooMike  133.4 #2840 1:27PM
I don't think those are the best attractions. POTC, the mark twain riverboat, and the little mermaid are my favorites and ironically they don't have height restrictions. You're looking at this situation with the cup half empty instead of half full. - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #162 1:29PM
Those are great attractions... But I mean... Come on... The reality is after you get off the Mark Twain. Your right at the walk on for BTMRR. It's like starving to death going to Flo's cafe and just smelling the air. - BambooMike  133.4 #2840 1:45PM
Character is built when decisions are made when you are alone, or when you can get away with it. - Villescas8  601.0 #290 1:46PM
I can see your point but I will say I don't go to Disneyland for the big hit rides/attractions. I go for the feel... The nostalgia... The magic. Yes I know... But I'm sure there's a group of us that dont get our kicks from the rides. Therefore I'd be paying to get into the park but not riding the rides... Same as someone not tall enough to ride the rides. Just my opinion. - EpicDio  433.1 #440 1:53PM
I totally agree!! My cousin was very small when we took her. I think we only took her like twice before she got her pass. Now, if my son ends up being really tall for his age (which I'm sure he will) and he's 40' by age 2 then we will pay for his pass without any question. - MrsDisneyMommy29  280.3 #944 2:06PM
I agree with epicduo. I go for the atmosphere, the magic, and the food. In my opinion if someone wants only the thrill rides, then Disneyland might not be the place for them. Also, bamboomike, I see what you're saying, but if a kid hasn't been on the ride, then they don't know what they are missing. It's up to the parent to make the best of the trip no matter what restrictions the child might have. What we get out of experiences is directly effected by what attitude we approach the situation with. - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #162 2:07PM
Don't get me wrong... I love Disneyland for many other reasons than just thrill rides.. And me and my family have a great time reguardless. I just do not see it as fair to charge the same for a child that can't go on everything in the parks... That's all I am saying. It's still fun and yes I love the atmosphere and the magic... Like i said my family and I are not there just for the thrill rides, but it would be nice to have the option if I'm paying the same. - BambooMike  133.4 #2840 2:21PM
No I see what you're saying and I get your point. I do agree with you that ticket prices should be by height, but in the meantime I don't think it's right to steal by lying about a child's age. Just my opinion. - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #162 2:25PM
Wow seriously? I'm ashamed of some of you. Passing off a kid as younger to get free admission is plain stealing, no matter how you try and justify it. Look at what a great example you are setting for your children! You must be so proud. - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #162 12:31PM

@ladylikesdisney, I totally agree with you! My son is three and I told the truth when we booked our 6-night upcoming vacation w/ 6-day park hoppers and it was an additional $800. It was the right thing to do. Disney provides tons of entertainment, smiles, and memories that are priceless. That's not cheap for them to provide to all of us. Just my two cents. My son can't wait to go ... asks everyday are we leaving tomorrow mom :) - BibbidiBobbidiBoo  54.9 #4243 1:29PM
I can't lie. I've done it (not at DL) but since I look so young I would sometimes use my school ID (cover up the Faculty part) and get the student ticket at movie theaters. I figured there had to be a benefit to looking like I'm in high school! But now you have shamed me. - LilSterner  4663.4 #18 1:59PM

Hi genie. Your ethics are questionable 😜 - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #162 2:07PM
I could only imagine the confusion on my kid's face hearing me lie. At the zoo I had a similiar moral dilemna when she turned 5 and no longer free admission, but no way would I want my kid to hear me lie, it would take away too much from morality talks we would have to have later. - madsdad  1800.8 #74 2:24PM
hehehe LLD. You were raised right, good job to your mother. She did a good job. - VfxGenie  1509.0 #89 2:54PM
I had the opposite problem, my oldest had always been super tall so when he was two people always thought he was much older. Not cool to pass off kids as younger just to get cheaper price. Or in this case. Think of all the people that will never get to even experience Disneyland even once. So i'm grateful to pay what i'm expected to pay and wish everyone else was as well. - Tinkerbellmom4  400.7 #495 2:56PM

Not my all time favorite, but my mom loooved it. Guess its just "onr of thise rides". I go on tho again just to catch few lil hidden suprises so thats fun
Personally I look at it from a child's point of view and I think it's amazing. It's very smart how they make it seem like you're going underwater, It's very colorful and there's a little scary part to it but it's not too bad. So maybe to us it might seem a little meh but just think to a kid it's seeing one of their favorite characters come to life, and they get to be apart of it. 😊 - AshleyLynn22  791.2 #198 9:53AM

I couldn't agree more! I think it's amazing!!!! - Duchess_SMK  5777.4 #14 11:22AM
I completely agree. These are attractions for mostly children and those who wish the still were. The attractions are a short glimpse of the movie, to have all aspects including the happy climatic ending would mean an attraction that take 30 minutes. Simply skip those or accept the magic. No offences but Knott's is down the street and Magic Mountain and Universal are down the freeway. These are Walt's original attractions and I cherish them for what they are and the smiles they gave me, my kids and now my grand kids. - splashphotoCM  885.6 #176 5:44PM
My daughter loves this attraction. I think the parents here will agree, when viewed from your child's point of view, you love it. My sister in law thinks it is a waste too. But she has no children. Children change your perspective on things. - PrincessAuroraMomma  515.5 #356 6:44PM
Yes- they cut the whole climax of the movie out. It stops short. I don't think it will stand the test of time. - tattooedmum  109.9 #3253 9:18AM
You could say the same for Snow White's Scary Adventures but it's still holding up. - LaneSparrow316  847.0 #186 9:22AM
So funny lanesparrow! I always thought the same thing about snow white too! No one wakes up snow white at the end of the ride! Lol! It always cracks me up!!! - deedub  40.8 #4726 9:47AM
Most of the attractions in Fantasyland don't have a proper ending. One of the reasons why I don't go on them very often. Always leave feeling like a big portion of the story was left out. - KermitFan13  646.5 #259 10:55AM
Agree. The whole climax is cut out. It goes from the "kiss the girl scene" to them getting married. Seems rushed. - keikoanddaphne  5.7 #14390 12:31PM
If anyone has the DVD that was released around 2006 it had the imagineers original plan for the little mermaid ride which I think would have been amazing compared to what's there now. - WaltDisney83  187.4 #2035 1:41AM

I'm old enough to remember when you paid to get in and then bought ride tickets that were lettered A-E. As a kid we would search the park for leftover ticket booklets. - potatohead25  575.6 #306 5:00PM
Each ride cost the value of one of these tickets. I can't remember if A or E were the most popular, but different rides had different values. Dumbo and Carrousel were cheapy ticktes and Space Mountain or Matterhorn were more expensive. It worked a lot like a county fair system. - potatohead25  575.6 #306 7:11PM

Yay for fixed car!! - SylSnowWhite  310.1 #758 4:52PM
And for purchased cars too! πŸ˜‰ I went a year and a 1/2 without owning a car so I could save to buy one. (I hate having car payments, would rather have Disneyland payments for my family) so I had to rely on friends to take me to Disnelyand, and that didn't happen very often. But now I have a car, just in time for Carsland and got to go opening night! It was awesome! - nittywitty  195.5 #1940 5:12PM
