When my hubby and I are out with our kids, we tend to not drink. (we're not big drinkers anyway, but do imbibe on occasion). I was telling him that we each needed a day where one of us can have one adult beverage on our next vacation. I'm having a shrunken head, I told him he needs to have a black pearl as he is a long island iced tea fan - GoofyMom77  728.7 #250 10:56PM

I'm sorry to hear you did not have the day you were expecting. Sometimes that happens wherever you go. Just have to make the best of it. That is usually when we decide to try something we normally wouldn't have done and then discovered something really cool.

Hello and welcome to mw,I am happy you came accross this app,but we are a happy community and don't like to hear negativity.I wish this story would have read like* I went to Disneyland yesterday and noticed the times were off so I updated them accordingly. Some rides did go down at times but at least I was able to enjoy the day with friends and family and still had a great day* Also if you keep expecting to continue to have a Bad day then your point of view would be to point out everything that can or will go wrong, many mwrs live hundreds of miles away and would easily trade your day just to be there. - pikarich  4444.8 #26 9:18AM
Excuse me, but she was just stating what the day was like. You don't have to be so rude about it. Wait times are messed up a lot and people only have so much time. They do use that to plan their day. - Mickeyandfriends  4.8 #18432 9:50AM
I live over 400 miles away. I would trade you in a heart beat!  - PrincessDaisy  323.7 #732 9:54AM
Mickey and friends- pikarich is one of the nicest & generous guys I have met. he would never be rude-for you to say he's rude is silly. Wait times work best when they are updated by all, not just a few - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  5640.8 #17 10:02AM
M&F, Rich wasn't being rude, just pointing out a more positive spin. If you see wait times are wrong then please help fix them, if you can read them you can input them. - Linzee  1122.7 #150 10:03AM
I don't think pikarich was being rude. He was just stating the perspective so many MWers share. Unfortunately wait times are subject to change and even MWers can't post the accurate wait times all the time. Sometimes service prevents that and if other MWers see that the wait time is not accurate on the app, they could update it. It helps keep the app accurate for all users. We can't rely on a certain MWer to be in the park all the time keeping the wait times current. - IDVandalSkipperCM  2407.6 #51 10:04AM
I live over 400 miles away too and am always looking forward to my next trip and the new things I wanna do and try that I've laearned about from other MW'ers on this app. Pikarich was really being helpful to you ,not mean . I've not met him yet in person, but he holds himself with dignity, loyalty and humor when he posts . Hope this makes you feel less offended - eviljules  1351.1 #114 10:25AM
Bummer. To me, It's not about how many rides we can go on,but how much we can enjoy each other's company, the Immaculate scenery, people watch, and notice new things. Did you, per chance, enter wait times to help the app? I wish I could have been at Disneyland. Alas I am over 350 miles away.😊 - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  5640.8 #17 8:49AM
Well said! I had so many other less eloquent things going on in my head! - DisneyGrandma  870.4 #200 8:51AM

Oh yes!! The delightful smells!! *breathes in* - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  5640.8 #17 10:27AM
We were there yesterday also & it was a sad day also but that's because we had to leave at 3 to head home because we live almost 700 miles away. Was it crowded, yes, did that get us down, no. We only went on 4 rides while there & when we had to leave the kids were complaining about not wanting to leave, not about the crowds or not being able to go on rides that may have temporarily been down. Great memories can be made for the good if you have a good attitude. - UTDISNEYFAMILY  1639.5 #95 10:21AM
Well put - vincentchase1  672.9 #279 10:23AM
Wow. I didn't realize my realistic view of MY experience at Dland would elicite such negative comments. Being a frequent visitor and lover of Dland it was honestly a shocking day. I have just never experienced a day at Dland like that. Sorry to ruffle some feathers. Just thought that since my experience was so out of the Dland norm I thought I'd post. - dvjen  3.7 #25100 10:22AM
Well they weren't really "negative" lol. Negative would have sounded much worse. Plus people were willing to share their experiences and give you some ideas of what to do when its busy. - madsdad  1868.1 #81 10:24AM
My MW friends were just trying to help you while preserving the integrity of this amazing app. Admin's rules are very clear. I hope your next experience is better. - LaPearleNoir  1638.1 #96 10:27AM
Not every single trip of mine has been absolutely 100% blissful but I never brought my complaints here bc it's not the place. Vacation atmosphere is what this great app is about. there are ways to turn it around and make it better 😊 - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  5640.8 #17 10:30AM

Monsters is so much better. Only went on the prior ride once and that was enough. We go on Monsters almost every time we go to DCA.

to be honest, how was anything in the original DCA disney related? - nicoleface  1752.6 #88 2:44PM
Yeah, I think it was mostly just geared towards the California theme... hard to have a Hollywood "land" without a Hollywood themed ride - KylaShea  632.7 #298 7:54PM
They were going for an EPCOT but only for California. Hollywood fell into that category. - cesium55  531.6 #371 8:34PM
I never rode this. Actually, my first visit to DCA was in 2007 so Monster's Inc was already there by my first visit. I kinda wish I could've experienced this attraction. - aidensmama  340.2 #661 12:38AM

We ask the kids what is the one ride they HAVE to do that day. We make sure to do that one and then from there we take it as it comes. Sometimes it is BTMRR or POTC or Space Mt or Buzz Lightyear.

I park my truck then ride the tram. It happens 8 out of 10 times. - vincentchase1  672.9 #279 9:26AM

I first saw it a few years ago with my family, and we /never/ used to see any shows. We went just because we were passing by and the next show was starting soon. We now go to see it every time we come. It's really a fun and entertaining show and even if you're not a "show" person, you gotta see it at least once. Never been on Xmas day or Xmas eve. When I was younger my family would always go new year's day. It is crowded new years eve but the morning of new years day was wide open. I guess everyone was watching the rose parade or nursing a hangover...or both. Haven't done that in a couple of years though so I am not sure if it is the same now.

I didn't watch the performance (waiting until Sat.) but found myself several times on Main St during the show. BBM is correct...know where you want to go as the sidewalks on Main St are one-way. There is a cross-over area at the Market Place corner. And since the stores are open you can double back through them to avoid the one-way on the street. But the only doors open are those at the corners. - Gia  802.0 #215 12:33PM
