We had an unfortunate event occur which made us have to cancel our room before it bounces our bank account. This was very uncalled for and came from left field. Our trip is still on though, yay! We just have to literally wait til the day before our trip to make reservations. now i'm trying to be sneaky by telling him we'll save a lot of money "now" if we get the AP right below the premium I think More...

Keep in mind as amazing as it is to have an ap, each future trip is going to cost $$. Plan accordingly. We have been going once a month for about 2-3 days each time, there are 3 of us and it costs us average $800 each time (hotel, gas, food). Just make sure you are ready for that type of commitment. (I'm not trying to offend you or lecture you, you've mentioned not being able to afford Disneyland before). I have seen those who have gotten 'ap blinders' on and don't think about the future financial aspect. I'm sure you will have a wonderful trip with AP's or with hoppers. - Linzee 516.5 #226 10:58PM

I totally see where you're coming from (my previous posts) but we can afford it now. I don't mean that in a snotty way. My hubby finally got that 100% rating we've been waiting on. We weren't even going to make the trip until it happened, and it did! I thank you for pointing out that concern. And with the AP we wouldn't really have to stay at a hotel every time we went up there because my sister lives not too far away. I live about 45 minutes away and only get hotels twice a year, but go about once a month, and even on our day trips we never leave without spending at least $100 - and half of the time we pack sandwiches. Although having an AP is an amazing experience, it's only part of the expenses unfortunately. That being said, I'm not trying to talk you out of it AT ALL. We will likely be renewing in November even though we are pinching pennies, it's not something we are willing to give up. Just be realistic about future expenses in you decision. yeah we vets kind of get screwed. we don't get a discount for being vets...only active and retired ( 20yrs ) get military discount. Wow i'm sad to hear that. hubby applied for his in June last year and got rated by nov. Then they told him to apply for IU for the 100% and he did. We just got it a couple Weeks ago. We've been going through the San Diego VARO. Which one are you going through? I'd say just keep on it cuz the longer they make you wait, the more money they owe you. Don't give up. You earned it. Yay! Hubby surprised me with 3 day Hoppers! I kept telling him one park one day to save a little, but he refuses to listen. Then he says he booked a kud suite at the portafino or something, I've never heard if it. Any opinions on that one? I looked it up and its all the way passEd katella. I told him to book close in case he needed a breather. Once again, he doesn't listen. So we're going the 31st More...

I have stayed at the Portifino many times, and thought it was fine. The walk was a bit longer than from somewhere like the HoJo, but not bad at all. The kid's suite is nice, two rooms separated by a French door. Each room has its own tv. The kids' room has a microwave and refrig if I remember correctly, as well as a bunk bed and small table. Nothing super fancy, but clean and safe and staff was friendly. Also, it's Labor Day weekend (and Half Marathon), so hotels are filling up and more expensive. when I say "breather" I mean he needs a long time out because he's agrophobic with anxiety and ptsd. (disabled vet) so that means he needs to be alone in his room. Portifino is not bad. Close to park. I to am a combat vet and really like to take a break mid day to decompress. Hope you have a great time. We actully leave in 8 days. I have a question about the $99 3 day hopper for military...I know the active/retired member has to purchase the tix, but do they have to be present with the party at the gate?

Every single time we have used these tickets($99 3 day hoppers), which is about 10 times now, we have been asked for the purchasers ID on the first use. They put the last name of the person on the ticket, so the spouse or member has to be there. My sister went to use hers and the lady accidentally put my parents name instead of her husband that is also military. The required my parents to come back before they allowed her in. If the service member buys the ticket at.the park, with all guests there, (they ask for the specific names so they can print it on the ticket.)he/she doesnt have to be present at park entry. and have until september. In the ER since 400 this morning from waking up from chest pain. I'm waiting for my discharge papers since all my labs and xray were normal. Dr even said it could have been a could heart attack which blew my mind BC I turn only 30 tomorrow! I hope its not something else that can be serious. I'm supposed to be excited for going to the Parks dagnamit!

Well it wasnt the heart attack afterall. Good thing! but I guess they say its gerd. I recently had a relapse of asthma and gerd is associated with it. I'm so relieved it isn't something too serious. Yay! Going to the parks someone on the next couple Weeks. My hubby is a disabled vet and has severe ptsd with anxiety and agrophobia. We've been taking little trips here and there to get him prepped for this. He feels he's about ready. does anyone think there's a possibility that if we go to city hall that they'll give us fast passes so he can enjoy the rides with us? And is there anywhere kind of More...

At City Hall you can ask for a Guest Assistance Card. It will allow him to use the wheelchair/fast pass/single rider line depending on his needs. They will ask a series of questions to determine which access would be the best for him. They don't need a doctors note because of HIPPA but they just want to make sure no one is abusing the GAC. Watch out for the fireworks, loud noises (parades), Fantasmic, World of Color. They all have sent my friend who also has PTSD into relapse episodes. Also those are times and areas with a ton of people in a very close proximity. We bring ear plugs for him to filter the noise. He wears them at all times. I wanna go to the parks! Dangit! Its my bday and my sons bday next month. The big 30 and 3. Someone brought up Vegas and now thewhole fam including extended are going. I dont know how many times in the past month I have said I dont wanna go to Vegas. Shoooot I can spend that much money at the parks and have stuff and memories of my kiddies to show for it. Blah!
