It's a great place to enjoy the fireworks without all the crowds. You don't get the castle fireworks but that's the payoff for elbow room.

Great review, thank you so much!! Thinking about doing this for the weekend I'm there in Feb. this kind of seals the deal. I truly believe you aren't paying for the food in these situations, more about not having to wait 3 hours for a view of the parade. The reserved area by IASW isn't bad and there's more room to spread out. It's also pretty good for the fireworks which usually come right after. They have similar castle projections on Small World. But the better showing of PTN is when it originates from Small World. From Main Street, it's a pretty sharp turn and the sight lines are not as good.

Good to know. It would be a good idea to share your feedback with City Hall. They might do something for you, but more importantly...that's the only way they know what the guests opinions are and if things are working or not. They might change the reserved area or at least expand it. - DLKenCA  2630.1 #49 10:33PM

I was just reading the article from the Orlando Sentinel and wondered how fast that would happen. Β The article also mentions that (at least in Florida) "It is also banning people 14 and older from wearing costumes --even at Halloween parties." At the Resort, Safety of everyone is always the top priority. There are so many things we cover from our own roles to other general safety topics that most guests don't hear about, but its implemented so we can assure everyone will have a safe experience. Unfortunately with the events going on outside the Resort, this was the next action to be implemented.  - BaseballMickey_CM  7590.3 #11 10:39AM

Del Amo in Torrance had some late yesterday as well.

I know there has been different responses from AP Services when calling about what will actually happen when we use this pass. I've gotten the same answer twice that it will become Sig Plus, but others have gotten a different answer. I just talked to Don in AP Services. I told him that I have a $779 Premium pass that I bought yesterday at the Disney Store that I have not activated. I asked him when I go to use it, what will happen? He told me that I will now get the new highest AP which is called Disneyland Signature Plus. He told me that Premium is no longer available, so this is the new AP and that it actually has a better perk then the Premium, you get Photo Pass. So then I told him that I know someone that just called and they were told it would stay as Premium, not get switched to Sig Plus. He said that is completely incorrect. Premium is gone, they cannot issue then anymore. He told me that he was in the meeting yesterday morning before they started to actually talk to people about these changes and they were told that those that have a Premium Pass that has not been activated, it will become Sig Plus. He assured me that this IS the correct info. He also confirmed it while I was on the phone. So...I am going to believe it is since Premium no longer exists. But I guess we won't really know until it's actually done in person.Β  - caramiapoohluvsbb8  4088.5 #37 12:58PM
I keep laughing at them mentioning the photopass thing. They are really trying to make it seem like it is this huge perk to having the pass. - Lelundrial  656.3 #304 1:37PM
I'm actually looking forward to the photo pass. I like it when we get the free download at the AP parties. The lighting and quality is much better for nighttime pics than my phone.  - JenGwen323  2025.6 #77 1:41PM
sounds like what AT&T kept telling me about my grandfathered in unlimited data plan. They tried to convince me it was better to ditch it, because I wasn't using a lot of data. I told them no I was keeping it. "Oh but you will save money." Nope, I am keeping it. They try to make it sound all nice when actually it is a joke. - Lelundrial  656.3 #304 5:58PM
I like it too JenGwen323 - I can never get the same quality for my night photos! - TinkerSchelle  1981.1 #81 6:18PM
Update on local store availability... Brea is sold out of the Premium.  I just got back from Montclair Plaza, and they had a pretty good stack of them.  I would say at least 30 or 40.  But while I was purchasing mine, they got 4 calls asking about them.  They also said they could not reserve them, and it was first come, first served.  I was told the same thing about the upgrade that is stated above.  When we activate the new card, it will be the Signature Plus with all the perks.  Just to make sure, I called the Annual Pass phone number when I got home, and they told me the same thing.  I saw someone in this thread below stating that you have to activate the new pass before December 31, 2016.  Both the store Manager and the person on the Annual Pass phone line told me that I need to activate it before December 31, 2015 (This year), and that it would be good through the end of next year.  I hope that helps! - 11Drums  8.5 #12283 6:48PM
The back of the passes that I got state Dec 31, 2016. They will go by what is stated on the back of the card. - caramiapoohluvsbb8  4088.5 #37 11:14PM
I saw that too, and mine has that same date on it.  But since there was a discrepancy between what I read and saw on the card, and what I was told by both people, I thought I should put it in the post.  Hopefully they will go by what is on the back of the card, but for me it doesn't matter because my current premium pass expires on December 31st so I will be renewing before that anyway.  Thanks again for the heads up on buying them at the stores.  Saved me a few hundred dollars. - 11Drums  8.5 #12283 9:31AM
I just got Premium at Santa Monica! πŸ‘πŸ» the cm said as soon as they get the new passes in stock, they will pull the old ones. This could happen at any time. He also said this will auto upgrade to the Signature Plus.Β  - JenGwen323  2025.6 #77 1:00PM
Also, expect this to take longer at the ticket booth when you renew. I usually do something like this and it takes 30 mins or more for them to get it right.  - JenGwen323  2025.6 #77 1:03PM
Got these at the Disney store in Roseville yesterday. When we go to use them for the first time  we don't need to go to the ticket booth do we? All of the passes look the same, we have 1 premium, can't tell which one it is, are these exchanged for another card? Thanks in advance, never been a pass holder  - LiveLaughLoveDisney  216.2 #0 1:53PM
LiveLaughLoveDisney you can got straight to the gate and enter, but they will give you a temp paper ticket so you will have to go to a ticket booth some time that day to get the real pass set up.  - JenGwen323  2025.6 #77 5:48PM

If you go to DCA, there's a mostly quiet area (during the day) inside the Mad T Party section all the way back.  There are some semi-comfortable lounge chairs to sit in while your baby naps.  Spent many an afternoon nap with my baby there.

We take our two grand babies almost weekly, the 6 month old struggles a bit with napping in the stroller,  the 1 year old hardly naps at the park, he takes it all in and enjoys running around. But if the youngest one really needs some quiet time we head to the baby center off Main Street, which has A/C, a kiddie table and a limited seating (4chairs) to sit indoors, away from the hussle and bussle of the park. It also has a nursing room with chairs to feed babies and could possibly be used to sit in there with baby while he/she naps. However, we're AP's and have only stayed once from opening until evening and the youngest slept through the parade and fireworks, but the 1 yr old did get fussy while waiting for the parade, but we think that was mainly because his mobility was limited once the crowds began to build.  - aztkdiva  0.2 #0 10:39AM
Thanks!! I've heard great things about the baby center. I may have to do that for nap time - FoolishMortal138  405.3 #554 10:50AM
You can't bring the stroller in there, so napping might be difficult and it tends to be busy. If you really want them to nap, try over at the Grand California. They have some quiet cool areas. Just don't expect napping at regular times. The park has a LOT of stimulation and they don't seem to sleep as much. - DLKenCA  2630.1 #49 10:58AM
We've always stayed from opening until fireworks with our littles when they were babies. They took naps in the stroller and I'd sit with them while the others went on a attraction or two or get a parent swap. And they'd always sleep through the fireworks without being phased. I have pretty go with the flow kids though haha. - MellieKay  286.4 #1000 10:17AM

There are places you can go that are more quiet. A great place is back behind Indy where there are benches for people waiting for others to get off. Or I love around the back of hungry bear by the rivers of America. It's nice and quiet so they can sleep. Those were my go to places.  And the fam would ride Indy or splash. - MellieKay  286.4 #1000 10:53AM

The train is a fabulous idea!! - FoolishMortal138  405.3 #554 4:49PM
I've taken all my kids when they were little and always watched the parades and fireworks. Depending on the hours of the day, if it's a long day (8-12) we tend to go back to the hotel and relax at nap time and have a drink or nap myself. But if hours are short (10-8) then we wing it. The kids would either sleep in the stroller or in the baby carrier. I never had a problem wearing them while they slept. We would take advantage of getting parent passes during that time for rides and then I'd go back later and ride them. And also go on the long, cool rides to relax for a bit (haunted, small world, Pirates). To me they are actually so much easier when they can't walk and talk πŸ˜‚ oh and the train is a great one too! Hope that helps :)  - brodysmommy  430.8 #508 11:35PM

I love Toy Story parking lot! Nothing's better on a hot day than sitting on an enclosed bus with A/C...and the same goes for cold nights and hopping onto a warm bus. Shorter lines too IMO - MommyandBash  374.2 #608 11:21AM
I've never been to any parking structure & it looks like there are quite a few - UTDISNEYFAMILY  1901.2 #88 9:09PM
Zazu?!? I've never seen that one. We once parked in the Simba lot. I was all excited because I love the Lion King... Then we asked a CM were the tram was and he said there isn't one... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ was a nice walk though! πŸ˜‰ - Madgesty  325.9 #770 9:51AM
