Long time fan of Disneyland. For years my career has been in the facilites operations field and Disneyland has always been an inspiration to me. If I am not working or at Disney you will either find me riding my bike or out for a run.

My family and I are going to be in the parks this Labor Day weekend for the half marathon. We are wanting to have a reward/splurge after the run and are thinking of getting the s'mores bake at big thunder bbq. We have never been to that restaurant before. A friend of ours is recommending we get reservations wen if we just want to have dessert. What do you guys recommend? Thanks a lot.
Doesn't hurt to make reservations - especially since it's so easy to do! Just go ahead and call up the disney reservations line and it will only take you a few minutes - rather that then not be able eat there right? 714-781-DINE - lohofosho  784.5 #198 10:02PM

I will be in the parks Labor Day weekend. My wife and I entered our 9 month old in the diaper dash event for crawlers. We are trying to plan out weekend in the parks and we were wondering if anyone has done the diaper dash and could tell us how long this event usually takes? We are trying to figure out if we should go to the park then his event or just start our day at the diaper dash. Thanks ahea  More...
Welcome to MW. Sorry don't know the answer to ur question. I am sure someone will be able to help u out - antetr95  1644.8 #76 9:52PM
I volunteered at the diaper dash last year. It took a very long time (babies don't always cooperate). They would go in groups of 3 or 4 babies at a time. Most of them would just sit there or crawl and then stop. It was really cute to watch. Mickey & Minne were there cheering them on. I was handing out the medallions ☺ - goofymom2boys  1435.6 #90 9:53PM
What is the diaper dash? - antetr95  1644.8 #76 9:58PM
train your baby!!! just practice having them be a bit far away at start line, one parent by baby one at end and hold their favorite toy and wiggle it or whatever. that should work and your baby won't be sitting around all day!!:D - secretagentangel  1252.0 #103 10:22PM
Bring your smart phone!!! Most parents figured out their little ones were attracted to their iPhone when it was turned on and placed a few feet in front of them. Some liked keys or toys, but the phones were most effective to motivate them 😉. Well, except this one little girl who bolted for her sippy cup filled with milk! - goofymom2boys  1435.6 #90 6:19AM
Go to Diaper Dash first. That morning is crazy busy in that area. Plus there are some kids in super cute outfits. Overall a fun morning, just keep mindful of your events starting time and when it actually starts. - MeridasHair  346.5 #599 10:32PM

My wife and I love coming to Disneyland. We will be in the area for an event this year and will be spending at least two days in the parks. It will be our first trip with our son and he will be 11 months old. Does anyone have any tips for traveling to Disney with a very young child? Thanks.
Get a room near by and head in for a nap. Plan ahead. But most importantly have fun! - TangledsDad  232.0 #1449 5:23PM
Find a good spot on main street to watch the parade. Nap time works good if you have a good bench to people watch while baby sleeps - pinkmonkeys  515.9 #350 6:00PM
Bring your personal stroller. They're way more comfortable than the rentals. - Witchie77  319.4 #707 5:41PM
I agree baby care center all the way. Bring snacks, camera, stroller, and patience. Have fun! - chadwick  90.8 #3509 6:23PM
Thanks everyone. Great tips. Getting more excited everyday for the trip back to the park. Its been about 6 months since my last visit and it already feels too long. - junglecruise80  30.5 #5228 8:47AM
