Got my official Fantasmic seat cushion today when I did the dinner package at the Blue Bayou.

So here are my thoughts on the experience. I used to book the dessert package and compared to the dining package I rather do the dessert because there are nice chairs for you to sit on with a great view. This new dining package makes you sit on the floor. My legs were cramping up and were dead numb by the time the show ended. It was very uncomfortable for me. The view was good, but I prefer the chairs when I did the dessert package. By the way, the dessert package is no longer offered. Also, be very careful about the instructions given to you where to go to check in. Our server told us to go one place, but the crowd control castmembers sent us to another. Very frustrating because that whole area around the river is so crowded and bottlenecked. Finally, the cast members at the check in area will not let anyone in the seating area until the exact check in time. Plus they tell you that you can't wait by the barrier gate because it will block the thin walking area guests have to get by. Finally have tons of patience because there is only one check in entrance with one cast member checking fast pass tickets. Mind you he or she has guests coming in from the left, the right and in front of him or her to squeeze in through the one access point. I had a chance to experience this and probably won't do it again or wait for a very long time to do it again. Sorry for the long post but wanted to answer some of the questions I saw after my original post. Love to hear your feedback.  - anthony91765  86.8 #3624 12:00AM

#NEWS -DAS Update.Today 11/20/2014 they rolled out updates to the DAS system.I tried to ask some of the questions that most frequent visitors would want to know. This is not meant to explain the DAS, just let people know that are already using the DAS what the changes are. There are other posts to do that. The Green DAS is GONE. It has been replaced with your AP or ticket as the registered DAS metho  More...

This is EXACTLY what I heard was going to happen and I'm thrilled to death about it! Thank you for the info! FINALLY this system makes the most sense to me! - missmimi90  1669.0 #84 4:10PM
One other question though if anyone knows: if we are in virtual queue for a ride and then decide to switch to another ride, is that possible? Like could I go to a kiosk and switch from Space to Peter Pan? I would assume the virtual queue would be restarted which is totally fine. I'd just like to think I could because theoretically you could leave an actual line in favor of another. - missmimi90  1669.0 #84 4:31PM
I was told yes you can switch ride. Your time just starts over. Scenario was typically in reference to autistic child that often changes their mind. We will see how all of this works in practice. I've heard they run into issues sometimes with this similar system already in place for wheelchair guests. - DLKenCA  1943.8 #71 4:59PM
So when you return to a ride at yourtime or after, do they scan the passes at the return line and iit's crossed off or will it be done twice. Example at space they check you to get in the return line and again at the line split. Some attractions are set up this way, some like in fantasy land is on once.  - pikarich  3497.6 #29 5:34PM
Alright awesome. Thank you - missmimi90  1669.0 #84 6:59PM
@pikarich Not sure how they will virtually cross you off. Will probably depend on ride. Will do some testing probably this weekend and let you know. Maybe they will give you a FP at the front to physically hand them at the split? - DLKenCA  1943.8 #71 8:44PM
pikarich DLKenCA missmimi90 The way they are currently checking DAS at fastpass attractions is this:  Tickets are checked (by looking up the history of the ticket) at the person who just verifies the correct time.  Then the time will be "redeemed" up where you would normally hand in fastpasses or have your time scratched off.  I hope this will change as it does slow down the entrance into the attraction drastically.  - IDVandalSkipperCM  2279.8 #53 8:52PM
Alright thank you for the info IDVandalSkipperCM - missmimi90  1669.0 #84 2:39PM

Thanks for sharing this specially For when I go with my mom and she uses her wheelchair - foundpluto1  1504.1 #92 9:32PM
Keep in mind the DAS is now a bit closer to the way they operated the wheelchair. People in wheelchairs are considered "mobility" and have something slightly different. Spend a few minutes in City Hall or Chamber of Commerce. They can provide a map and instructions. It is "similar" but you normally have to go to the ride to get a return time. - DLKenCA  1943.8 #71 11:07PM
Question, what's DAS? - TakeMeToNeverland19  11.7 #8794 7:17PM
DAS stands for disability assistance service. It's for those with disabilities where standing in a normal stand by queue may not be feasible for any number of reasons. So those with individual situation can apply for a DAS which allows the person with said dosability and their party to wait in a virtual queue (I.e. If there is a stand by wait time of 45 minutes for Peter Pan, the DAS holder and their party can get a return time of 45 minutes for Peter Pan and then go to the attraction after they have waited the 45 minutes and ride the attraction). - missmimi90  1669.0 #84 7:46PM
This isn't the same thing as the wheelchair pass, is it? The going back after the wait time sounds like it - TakeMeToNeverland19  11.7 #8794 2:39AM

I've got a few... 1) Our Target usually has the Smart Water bottles they sell in the parks for $1. I buy at least 3 for each day we will be there and freeze them. That way they stay cold all day. I carry one and put the others in the backpack. 2) The picnic area lockers! These lockers are bigger than the ones inside the parks and the esplanade and you don't have to take the stuff through bag check. You could fit a small ice chest in one of the large lockers and keep cool items. We once mixed up some tuna and kept that, bread (well, we forgot the bread which resulted in some creativity lol), snacks like Cheezits, etc. Then you can keep all your meals in there and the patio is usually pretty empty. PLUS you're still on property!!! 3) I got this one from MW. If you have a Target Red Card, purchase Disney gift cards with it when you can. You'll get 5% off (plus whatever you get on your AP) 4) I have several apps on my phone that I use to build up rewards. I then redeem those rewards for Starbucks gift cards that can be used in all the park locations. We've gotten a whole meal for free with this! The sandwiches they have at the DCA location are yummy! Here are my regular apps: Viggle (check in on tv), Shopkick (scan items on your phone when shopping), Mom uses Mango Health (check in when you take your daily medications, including vitamins!). I'm sure there's plenty more, but they're SUPER easy!!!Β  - SPandEvLover  3282.6 #34 3:28PM

Definitely utilize Costco. People have this impression that I have all this $$ to come to Disneyland everyday and that couldn't be further from the truth. I SAVE money by being here. I bring my own drinks & snacks like Triscuits, trail mix, apples and other tough fruits that can withstand the backpack; also Cliff & other snack bars. For those of you without annual passes like myself, ARES travel is offering two great specials.  Adults pay the kid's price for 3-day, 4-day or 5-day Hopper Tickets.  Or, they also have 3-day or 4-day Hopper Tickets with One Extra Day free.  I'm always looking for ways to save so I have more money to play : )  Thought I would share the information.  Have a great day!!

I asked this on the WDW side, but thought I should ask here, too, since a good number of you have been to WDW. The plan is to rent DVC points for our upcoming trip in Nov 2014(the week after Thanksgiving). Family of four, kids age 6 and 13. What resort villa would you stay at for 9 nights and why. I've got my eye on the studio villas at Beach Club and Bay Lake, but open to suggestions.

If you don't mind me asking what kind of budget are you working with? Are you going super nice hotels or looking at the moderate ones? - lostgirl7988  697.6 #239 11:24AM
I'm on a moderate budget, for the cost of a moderate hotel I can rent points and stay at a deluxe villa hotel studio (some 1 bedrooms). - GoofyMom77  643.2 #271 11:28AM
I see. We'll if you go bay lake towers see if you can go all out and get a room facing the magic kingdom. They pipe in fireworks music at night and I've heard it's amazing. As far as moderate I really love port Orleans French quarter and Coronado springs. Coronado is a little more business-y but the quick service restaurant in there is phenomenal. Caribbean Beach is pretty gorgeous as well.  - lostgirl7988  697.6 #239 11:31AM
I should have been more clear. Which Deluxe Villa Resort Studio or 1 Bedroom would you stay at and why? The cost (via renting points) is the same as booking a moderate Disney hotel. - GoofyMom77  643.2 #271 12:27PM
Do you still get magic morning when you rent points? - minnielove83  28.4 #5557 7:43AM
I would assume so you're still on property and can get meal plans through your rental.  - Pixarprincess  540.7 #336 8:32AM
Yes and you still get the free parking. - georgieporgie  183.6 #2095 10:27AM
Yup :) The only thing I wouldn't get is the free dining if it's offered, since I'm not booking through Disney - GoofyMom77  643.2 #271 8:05PM
We stayed at the old key west villas with our DVC. It's a nice hotel, but I do recommend staying at a hotel that is connected to the monorail. We had to wait for the busses and most many times by the time it got to our resort the busses were full. We actually waited 45 min just to get a bus ride to the parks. That was pretty disappointing.  - MrsMinnie  58.5 #4192 10:34PM
