Space Mountain just broke down. Undetermined when they'll start up again. 40 min wait was closer ti 50 and we weren't even in yet. :(
If it's closed, you should mark it as such on the wait time list. I noticed it's marked at 45 mins at ~1:16p. - SergZak  3125.8 #31 1:19PM
You could wait for it re open too. Its very possible that people will leave which gets you close to the front of line. - vincentchase1  672.8 #246 1:20PM

Taking 3 boys, 14, 10 & 7. I haven't been since 2001. Anything new we want to make sure they don't miss?
Fantasmic! Bring a blanket to sit on and get their early so you can sit in the lower section. Everyone has to stay seated in that section so you won't have visibility problems :) They'll love it! - MayBie  1885.6 #65 1:38AM
Oh lord, the things you've missed. - SoloSiyoNqoba  598.9 #285 1:33AM

A friend told my kids about trading pins, now they want to try. I have less than a week to figure out how and where to start. Any tips and ideas?
You can get starter sets in the park!!! Gives them a few pins to start with! - SassyKittyMeow  377.6 #517 1:12AM
Any idea how much? - LilMom  5.8 #13763 1:16AM
$30 for a lanyard and five or six pins. - susieQzee  547.4 #313 1:23AM
Yikes! Any cheaper ideas? With three old enough to trade, that would be a little too much. - LilMom  5.8 #13763 1:48AM
There is A deal going on that if you spend like $40 in the stores you can get 8 pins with a lanyard for about $19 pretty sweet deal :-) - Timechaser_cm  265.3 #1075 2:14AM

What day are you coming to the park? I have a few extra pins they could have to get then started, but I will only be there from Sat-Tues - PrincessKristin  780.2 #199 8:10AM

Such a sweet offer PK., but we won't be there til the eighteenth through twentieth - LilMom  5.8 #13763 12:10PM
Tip number 1 - when you buy your "starter" pins to trade through the parks for other pins, make sure you buy pins that you (and your kids) don't really like! Because otherwise they won't want to trade them away, and you'll end up having to spend more money on pins that they are willing to give up. lol  - jmgphx  323.1 #684 9:10AM
If you're in the park, I'll be glad to explain everything to you. Most of what I've learned about pin trading is either from other MWers and working in the park. - BaseballMickey_CM  6040.0 #12 2:34PM
We will be in DL on Mon - LilMom  5.8 #13763 11:20PM
As a kid I liked the starter kits. You can trade the ones you don't like from there :) - Raeofsunshine  12.6 #8015 4:17PM

SUPER EXCITED ... 1st time back to DL in 10 yrs. Never been to DCA. The plan is big kids first day at DL. 2nd day DCA with baby and Grandma. 3rd day back to DL with everyone. Any recommendations? Also, can we take some of our own snacks?
Of course you can! Bringing your own snacks saves you money and keeps your hunger down while in line I suggest you do an adult dinner at Blue Bayou because it is an amazing experience although a bit expensive and for the whole family I suggest Pizza Port delicious pasta!!! - Disneyrockstar  165.3 #2335 9:02AM
Hi and welcome! You can bring snacks. My only suggestion is to see as many shows/parades as possible. Fantasmic, fireworks and soundsational parade in DL & world of color in DCA. Everyone will enjoy these. - VeloMouseGirl  549.8 #310 9:04AM
Soarin' and Screamin' are definately a must at DCA. We bring in our snacks and lunches all the time so that we can spend more on a nice dinner. The only thing I have been told by a CM is that the sandwiches have to be made already. We once brought stuff to make the sandwiches so that they would be fresher, and we had to stand outside of the gate making them real fast before they would let us in. This was about 2 years ago. - Photogirl7  198.1 #1888 10:37AM
I see people making sandwiches out by the bag check area all the time! Now I know why! :) - LoveDland  321.1 #695 10:16PM
Lol, you could go to the picnic area. So in the future, I would preassemble the sandwiches with the meat and cheese only. Wrap in waxed paper, this is the best option for preventing sogginess. Pack the condiments and veggies to add later. - bluefairy  643.3 #258 1:56AM
Have an amazing time!!!! - DiamondInTheRough  345.3 #599 11:57PM
