Good morning! This day in Disney history, Sep 7th, 1997. Disneyland's CIRCLE-VISION, which offered daily showings of America the Beautiful, the last film Walt Disney worked on, closes in Tomorrowland. Take a tour around America by watching the eleven movie screens that form a circle above your head. The screens are perfectly synchronized to show the 16mm films, surrounding you w/a 360-degree vie  More...
I totally remember this attraction, it was my Dad's favorite as he loved to drive and travel by car. He would have loved Carsland. Every trip to DL included this and Great Moments with Mr.Lincoln. Yes the screens were used for Rocket Rods. You actually walked through the old queue of Circlvision which displayed many of the old vehicles of closed attractions like the People Mover, Skyway, Rockets and Autopia Cars. I think they were trying to hide how long the lines really were from the outside, cause it really chris crossed inside the old attraction. It was sponsored by Bell telephones and I always remember going in the large phone booths and making phone calls to someone on the speaker phones, we thought it was so cool. - splashphotoCM  885.6 #163 10:20AM
Of course being older than DL I remember just about everything since we went the second week it opened. lol - splashphotoCM  885.6 #163 11:00AM
Thank you so much for adding that awesome info! Were the vehicles in the queue accessible to the guests? Or blocked off somehow? I think something like that now would be an amazing photo opportunity! - Duchess_SMK  5550.9 #14 12:56PM
Our family did the same thing! Amazing! - Sandy  245.7 #1260 3:47AM
Who else remembers hanging on to the railing while turning the corner on that fire engine?? - Bo22  383.9 #497 9:23AM
Yeah, I was going to mention the trip on the fire engine. I always loved that. Also, the booths you could sit in to make a group phone call to family or whoever, it didn't matter,it was just such a cool thing because you were doing it from Disneyland! - CVDisneyland  357.3 #555 9:51AM
I absolutely remember the firetruck scene! - Grindcore  450.9 #410 11:41AM
I remember standing there and having to hold on to the bars bc I would get dizzy - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3905.7 #23 3:39PM
I remember this as a child. My parents loved it. My brother and I would lay on the floor and watch. It was nice to relax and cool off during the summer days. - MousekaNinja  414.7 #453 6:10PM

I wanted to thank everyone for their support today. I had the pleasure of joining your wonderful community here. However, something kss4tink wrote prompted me to remind everyone of this. I have shared a few small tokens that are easy for me to share. But I receive as much if not more in the process. I feel so blessed to be in a position in life financially and socially, that I have the ability to   More...
You forgot me! I'm kidding. Nice post. Many MWers contribute to this community something money can't buy . . . . . true friendship. That friendship consists of many factors but ones that are hard to come by such as supportive, caring, encouraging, cheerleaders, loving, humorous and so many other virtues not purchased or made! - Romec123aKaSmartyPants  627.2 #264 10:54PM
Amen. - VeloMouseGirl  549.8 #309 11:02PM
Absolutely agree. It's the beauty of generosity and kindness from the heart that has become priceless. - Willierose  1951.9 #61 11:08PM
Yes very true romec! I like to think i contribute in the humorous part. Ssss ssss sss - ScarfGirl  638.6 #258 9:42PM
You have said what many of us new people think every day. This site and the people on it have totally changed how I live. Someone told me last week that a RAK is an Act of Kindness which is what I try to do every day now whether letting someone merge in front of me in rush hour traffic, holding a door or even just saying something nice to someone. I too work hard for what I have but still struggle to a degree but I have a few things I would like to do to thank those on this site when Im in Disneyland next week (YEAH, almost there!). I just hope I can meet some of the wonderful people on this site, such as yourself. I hope you learn to love this Disney spirit as much as I do. - justme2012  142.5 #2660 10:50PM
Your acts of kindness will somehow repay you.. no matter how big or small they are, as long as you know that you are blessing someone else you will also be blessed. ๐Ÿ˜Š - gigibunny2  242.8 #1304 12:57AM
I just saw this. I cried.I'm sure my husband thinks I'm crazy. I sometimes feel like I'm Anne Shirley and I just found a couple thousand kindred spirits. Thank you, Fairygodfather for the reminder of why I love all things MW. I confess, I've been trying to indulge in my guilty pleasure that is this lounge a little less lately, but after reading this I can't remember why. On a very happy note, my husband just recently recieved a little (and much deserved) raise, and we are going to try our darndest to squeeze a Disney day out of it!!! If we do manage, I really hope I can have the privilege if shaking your hand in the park, sir. - LittleAprilShowers  554.7 #305 7:57PM
oh congrats to him! I was thinking so strongly of you this morning :) - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3905.7 #23 7:59PM
Thank you. I've really felt the prayers and pixie dust from all of you, and it's really nice to hear that someone is thinking about us. Besides, I was wondering why I was craving churros all morning. - LittleAprilShowers  554.7 #305 9:31PM
Thank you for adding to the pixie dust that floats around here on a daily basis. We all could use some Disney magic any way we can. Hope one day to meet you just to be able to shake your hand and personally say thank you! - pixiedreamer  130.3 #2848 10:15PM

Good morning! This day in Disney history, August 24th, 1914. Lieutenant Harry Colebourn (a Veterinary Officer) stops at White River Ontario, Canada, on his way to fight the ongoing war in Europe. There he purchases a small black female Canadian bear cub (for $20) & names her Winnie, after his home town of Winnipeg. In October, his regiment will be sent to England (& ultimately France) & Colebourn   More...
