We are second year annual pass holders. We love spending a whole day or just a few hours in the parks people watching, snacking and catching a few rides.

We stayed at the Anaheim Marriott Inn and Suites which has a shuttle for the Tink last year. We have also stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites for the Disneyland half last year, which was convenient because we were able to walk through the plaza to DTD.
For the DL 1/2 last year, I stayed at the Hilton and I just walked to the starting line. For the Tink 1/2 last week, I stayed at the Clarion. The ART busses started running at 3 am so I took that instead of walking. I know that the ART shuttles stop at a bunch of hotels near DL. As it gets closer to the race, the brochures will come out with lists of hotels that have shuttle stops. I hope this helps! - PirateQueenBriezy  294.7 #817 10:21PM

Did you girls stay there too? Not sure if I'll stay there again. Our room was right by the hotel's air conditioning unit and it was a bit loud...good thing I had to wake up early! Also, our heater blew the curtains up all night- very weird. - PirateQueenBriezy  294.7 #817 11:04PM
It's cheap, that's why we stay there. Plus for us we just walk across the street to the toy story lot so we don't have to pay for the art - AshleyLynn22  791.2 #187 9:57AM
Just did the Tink and stayed off property near Paradise Pier Hotel. 5 minute walk to start/finish line. Here's a link to the race info (which I wish I had earlier). It listed where race transportation picked up from. I'm sure there will be changes but just to give you an idea. http://tinyurl.com/bbt4wg4 - NikkiMickey  1682.7 #72 10:56PM
Thanks! That helps. Maybe I should wait for that before I book. - AZDisney  598.0 #282 11:03PM
I wouldn't wait. I saw it only a few weeks before the race. Perhaps I missed it on the website. - NikkiMickey  1682.7 #72 11:21PM
I was also thinking about calling Hojo but was concerned about transportation. Anyone stay there this time for the Tink? - MoonWillow  380.9 #501 2:03PM
I like the idea of staying at HoJo because it is walking distance and would be great for warm up. - AZDisney  598.0 #282 2:08PM
I have a ton of friends who have sayed at the HoJo for various Disney races and there is always a ton of people walking to the starts race morning. It's actually a cooler experience then a shuttle in my opinion. I'd definitely go with a good neighbor hotel. - SorcererMky  299.6 #790 10:48PM

We used the kennel for our dog and it was fine. They are in a cage, but the cast members are great. You have to have your shot records and are responsible to come back often to take them out. They have a little area for them to do their business (astro turf) on the side. If you have a nervous doggie, they might not like it. There is quite a lot of barking going on in there. One tip, we used the 15 minute parking to unload and walk him in. I understand that area is now for guest drop off, but if you have someone who can drop you and the dog there, then you don't have to take the tram. The dogs are not allowed on the buses, but can take the tram. Hope that helps. - goofymom2boys  1408.3 #87 2:20PM

Layers for sure. You never know.
It actually tends to be a beautiful time of year to visit. For the most part I would expect cooler conditions with a breeze and slightly warmer afternoons. Definitely pack a sweater, you might want to being a rain coat too- we've been in a couple of mid-fall Disney downpours that left you soaked through and shivering. I always recommend packing extra socks too, even if it doesn't rain they are handy to have after a trip down GRR. Have a magical trip! - makingmemories  311.8 #724 4:27PM

When Space Mountain first opened, all the kids in the neighborhood piled into a car and went to DL. We stood in line for 3 hours, as it stretched down Main Street. Finally, we got inside and I saw that giant, orange, glowing planet inside (the queue was different then). I was absolutely convinced that the rockets looped upside down around that planet, and there was no way I was getting on it. I took the "chicken exit" and waited for my friend's dad to come find me after they rode it. To this day, they never let me forget about that! - susieQzee  540.1 #316 7:53PM
Mr Toad. I balled my eyes out the first time I rode it. - aidensmama  340.1 #608 11:19PM

It drives me crazy that People don't stay to the right in obviously small/crowded walkways. It would be so much easier for everyone to get around if basic traffic patterns were followed.
groups that stop in the middle of a narrow walk way to decide where/what to do next. just pull to the side people! :p - tuesday737  1235.0 #102 7:35PM
You do realize that MWers are notorious offenders? 😜 - SergZak  3125.8 #29 7:41PM

We need ShakeWait. Shake your phone and it tells you where to go next!😜 - SueBayou  2019.4 #55 8:10PM
I don't stop in the walkway, I pull over.. or walk dangerously fast while looking down at my phone ;) - tuesday737  1235.0 #102 8:12PM
MWers are SO bad at this lol - MarshaMouse  3691.6 #25 8:18PM
I didn't see this when I just commented. I said the same thing!! - LilSterner  4420.0 #19 8:27PM
I am surprised no one has mentioned the strollers at Mickey and friends parking structure... At 1230 and people all trying to leave after a long day. It's kind of annoying when a family stops all traffic to remove a sleeping child in front I a big sign of a stroller with a slash through it - marineed07  32.3 #5040 9:17PM

The NEVER go to DL Paris. The BO remains in the air even when nobody is around. I couldn't walk into some shops because of it! - LilSterner  4420.0 #19 9:17PM
Never been to DLP, but I've been to Paris--it's a stinky city! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  517.3 #338 9:26PM
People who TALK THROUGH THE ENTIRE RIDE AND THEY THINK THEY ARE WHISPERING BUT REALLY I CAN HEAR THEIR WHOLE CONVERSATION!!! So annoying! I once heard a lady admit to cheating her husband on POTC :/ - tiggertwin  329.5 #647 9:39PM
I'll have to agree with the BO issue. Some dude on the tram last night could have given a skunk a run - GusGus  776.9 #195 9:09AM

We love the Hilton and you can walk to the Toy Story lot.
We always stay at the Best Western Park Place Inn .... It's the closest as far as walking distance goes and the rooms are good, not fancy but it's a good clean place to rest your body and it has a small pool, hot tub and laundry room. Hope that helps - EdLovesAlvena  252.3 #1186 11:59AM
Was checking the Motel 6 out online and sounds like its safely walking distance? - TigrLvnMomma  154.0 #2487 9:59AM
It's a long walk. The ART picks up from there pretty regularly though. The price is very reasonable. - minigirl1156  672.7 #236 10:04AM
We stayed at the Red Lion in May and thought it was great. We paid around $80 for the night and that included a breakfast buffet. I called and the rate we got was a Disney special. They also had a room with a view of the fireworks for $10 more. - kgmommy  252.0 #1189 1:23PM
Red Lion has a "Cars" promo going $99 a night free parking and what looks like a very yummy breakfastπŸ˜„ - TigrLvnMomma  154.0 #2487 4:33PM
Just got back from 2 nights at the Park Vue Inn. its right at the bus entrance where everyone crosses the street to enter Disney. Our room was about 50 yards from that traffic light. Can't get much closer. Nice rooms. Decent free breakfast. Nice staff. Would stay again. - charles  11.1 #8457 5:51PM
