Picnic vs dinner same reserved spot??
I am going to have to say yes the WOC dinner is worth it. The food is great and then you get tickets for front and center. Bring a jacket because the best part in that area is down low but you will get wet a little. You want to be able to see the water top because it looks super coolr to and laser effects are down there. I had the dinner and WOC this last week and we stood a little further back but we could not see over the heads of people to the water. Sorry rambling hope that helps - BooEve123  800.9 #180 11:02AM
agree with boo, i think it was worth it, so much more relaxed, good food, good "seats." you do still need to return maybe 30 min before if you want to be right up front. - Pixarprincess  539.3 #315 11:17AM
Picnic vs dinner same reserved spot?? - julia4disney  3.4 #25462 11:04AM
I am sorry I am not sure if it the same spot or not. Does anyone know? I have only done the sit down restaurants - BooEve123  800.9 #180 11:06AM
no, picnic will get to FP's the same as the machines. the reseved spots are for the dinners at WCT and Ariels (ending mid june) and soon to be Cathway - GoofyMom77  469.3 #387 11:06AM
picnic is not the same as sit down, picnic fp's are not all in the same section, and the food was so so. i wouldnt recommend this rout - Pixarprincess  539.3 #315 11:15AM
Heads up I called for the dining package for our trip next month and was advised that the front center section that was previously given for packages at Ariel's Grotto and Wine Country Trattoria has been moved to back center. Only reservations at the new Carthay Theater Restaurant will be front center. This is for all dining bookings after June 15th( opening of the new restaurant) - Keala76  293.5 #829 11:47AM
I thought I read that Ariel's Grotto was going to stop the WOC tix altogether. - Lelundrial  446.4 #417 11:50AM
Ariel's did stop the dinner plan. I was trying to explain the location of the reserved seating that was included with their package :) - Keala76  293.5 #829 12:04PM
Thanks for the info on the new Carthay Theater restaurant. Do you you happen to know what the price range is? - julia4disney  3.4 #25462 12:28PM
I have no idea, it's not open yet and there isn't a listing for it on Disney's website yet. Kinda odd cause they have Flos up. - GoofyMom77  469.3 #387 12:39PM
I was told that each person has to order 2 items ( app and entree or entree and desert) for the dining package. Appetizers range from $9-20 Entrees range from $19-41 Desserts range from $8-12 Children also have to order 2 items Dinner $8-16 Dessert $4-5 - Keala76  293.5 #829 12:46PM

I took my son out for a week two years ago to go to DL soooo worth it!! He is in 5th grade now and at the top of his class so didn't hinder him one bit. Life is about the memories you make with your children this is what they will cherish for years to come not always what they learn in school
My kids miss all of the time for DL. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I don't care. When they grow up I want them to remember the magical memories they had as kids as well as reading, writing and math. - Mrsblue  692.7 #221 11:50PM
Thank you! This makes me feel better, cause I've always told my husband that family time and memories are more important than anything! He agrees πŸ˜‰ - lynniesue42  232.4 #1420 11:54PM
Plus we always justify the cost of disney trips by saying these memories will be something she cherished for a lifetime as passes onto we family! - lynniesue42  232.4 #1420 11:55PM
^^^her family (not we family!) - lynniesue42  232.4 #1420 11:56PM
We have a deal with our kids, as long as they keep their grades up (A's - HpplyEvrAftr  223.0 #1539 11:43AM
Mads is in the first grade, last year I took her to DL for a week in October. I talked to the teacher about it beforehand and got her homework to do, but honestly it seemed that missing one week wasn't a good idea for her, probably won't do it again! - madsdad  1800.8 #65 11:48PM
Thanks for your honest review...I wish it was closer to the school year so I could talk to her teacher before putting all this money out to potentially have it do more harm then good! - lynniesue42  232.4 #1420 11:50PM
Yah I will probably do it for a day or so at a time, since I want to go again in October. I don't think there is anything wrong with it, just for us a week was too long for her! - madsdad  1800.8 #65 12:00AM
My son and his fiancΓ© were in court last week as the ex stated that his daughter missed a day of kindergarten to go to DL Judge asked the ex if he paid for the tickets. Upon his "no" case was dismissed. - SeΓ±orBuzz&Jessie  68.5 #3825 6:25PM
Two days and that's when they were both in elementary school. It's harder now that they will be in Middle school and High school. Can't miss thenπŸ˜” - tigntink  180.8 #2091 6:34PM

This is a great idea!!! Thank you!!! - Zipitydoodahdad  269.0 #1029 1:40PM
That's a great idea--seems like it would also make DL more special, in a way? By this, I mean that kids (and adults) would be less likely to take it for granted? - Spoonful_O_Sugar  509.4 #344 11:18AM
Thats exactly what I plan to do. I'm going to continue to pay my Ap AFTER it expires in a money jar at home, then when it comes time to get new APs after a year or so they will be almost paid for. - piglet25  533.6 #320 9:14AM
