Our daughter has her own "Disneyland Plaid Doggy" to escort her around the "hood" on Halloween! She came up with this costume for our dog Flynn all on her own! I think it's pretty stinkin' cute and clever! 😊 We also thought that of we couldn't find one, we wouldn't need a costume, he could just go as the dog from Pirates of the Caribbean! But this costume wins this year!! 😊
I just want to say that the Birthday Bash celebration last night was so awesome!! I loved talking with so many of you!! I thought La Brea Bakery was such a great location, and the staff there served our crowd beautifully! The planning team went above and beyond... There really aren't words to express our gratitude to all who helped make this event so fun and welcoming for everyone!! Once agai More...
Our server went to check if there was anyone to write on the plates... I wanted "Mother Daughter Weekend"... He said that there wasn't, but if we didn't mind waiting a few minutes longer, they would have someone up in the club write it special for us!! I love that he went the extra mile to have this special dessert made for my girlie!! 😊❤️
When I was here about a year ago with my older daughter for a mother daughter weekend, my daughter got to meet and take a pic with Bella Thorne... Now I am here today with our younger daughter, closing out our mother daughter weekend, and my girlie got to meet Olly Murs (sp??). Haha!! We didn't know who he was, but were told he is huge in the UK and opened for One Direction! Fun!! 😊👍
I'm so bummed that mine wasn't with this one, but going through a box of old letters and things from our dating days, I found Admin's first annual passport!! He said I could post a picture of it here! This is what they looked like back then. A printed photograph laminated right on to the pass!! And, it looks as if they cut them out by hand!! This was issued on 12/10/93!! We got them for Chri More...
20 years ago today, my sweet Prince Charming and I went on our first date! It was at Disneyland, of course!!! We spent the whole day together at the park... At the time there was just one park, and we parked our car where California Adventure now sits! I was wondering earlier, about why we don't have a single picture from that day... At first I was thinking that our phones must not have had c More...
My cousin, her hubby, their two young adult children, and their son's girlfriend drove out from Texas to visit us. They spent the day at Disneyland with us today! For all of them, it was their first time ever experiencing Disneyland!! I just LOVE walking through the park with someone who is seeing and experiencing it for the very first time!! 😊 My cousin said, "I just think it's so cool th More...
Mr. Disney was one of five children, four boys and a girl. He was the fourth born Disney son. He was named after his parents pastor and friend Walter Parr, a preacher at St. Paul Congregational Church. The pastor, in turn, will later name his son Elias, after Walt's father.
Most of Walt's childhood was spent on a farm in Marceline, Missouri, where he began drawing, painting and selling pictures to neighbors and family friends. In 1911, the family moved to Kansas City, where his love for trains really developed. His Uncle, Mike Martin, was a train Engineer who worked on the route between Fort Madison, Iowa, and Marceline. Walt would later work a summer job with the railroad, selling newspapers and snacks to the travelers. To read more about Walts love for trains

To watch a short biography of Walts life:
Walt and Lillian Disney with unnamed friend, London, 1935.
Walt Disney in my opinion, is a wonderful example of the American dream! He represents: imagination, optimism, creation, and self-made success in the American tradition. He brought us closer to the future, while telling us of the past, it is certain, Walt Disney was a great man! He and his brother Roy co-founded Walt Disney Productions, which became one of the best-known motion-picture production companies in the world! Disney was an innovative animator and created the cartoon characters we all love to watch today. :) He won 22 Academy Awards during his lifetime, and was the founder of the magical playgrounds that ties us all together, Disneyland and Disney World. Had he been alive today he would be 112 years old! Happy birthday Walt! Thank you so much for believing in your dreams! You are a true inspiration.
In honor of today, it would be fun if we all mentioned our favorite quote from Mr. Disney. I'll go first, I have many, but this one always sticks out:
"I've always been interested in the past and history and I think it's vital."
Thanks for reading and watching! Hope you all have a terrific Thursday!
