Hey guys. In case you missed it, I had an interview awhile back and it went great; but they had to put me on the wait list. (Attractions) 😪😕
Thing is; that was 6 weeks ago today and I'm thinking about calling. Before I do; I was wondering if any of you nice MWers have had experience, either directly or indirectly with the wait list so I can get an idea of what kind of wait I'm in for. I K More...

I haven't been through the wait list process but I wish you the best! They do continue to hire through the summer, though not in huge amounts. Did you request a specific area or just any area? - IDVandalSkipperCM

the quickest way to get work is graveyard custodial and i requested that and got my benefits quicker also but i had to go through the process 3 times and i kept getting the same guy and on the third time we just talked about sports but the only difference was i cut my hair to Disney standards and that was the only reason it took so long for me to get in . but you have to be persistent about really wanting to go and work for the park - sctoaonk75

UPDATE: The interview went GREAT and I am on the wait list for both attractions AND merch.
I am grateful and honored to be considered. I truly believe this is a first step to achieving my dream and it won't be too long before I'm working in the park.

I have a question for you awesome CM MouseWaiters.
I WAS going to be patient and wait until attractions had a posting again to apply; but due to my hours being cut at my current job, I cannot afford to be picky (literally) anymore. So I am going to apply for a position outside of attractions I think.
My question is: how long do I have to wait to transfer departments? What about within one depart More...
If you want to transfer, you will have to wait until your "probation" period is up (about 100 days) to transfer to a different department (also depends on that department's availability of open spaces for CMs). For transferring to a different area within your department, you will have to talk with your manager(s) to see what is available at the moment. - BaseballMickey_CM

I've been looking at working at the parks for awhile now. I applied online 6 months ago and nothing came of it. 😞😢 I'm always seeing new CMs walking through the park for orientation, so there must be jobs open...

me and you are in the same boat, buddy. i've talked to a lot of CMs and currently hired CMs about the hiring process. i think a lot of it has to do with timing, as in when you send in your application. - nicoleface

Let see. Thousand of people either walking or cheering. Plus volunteers as well as CMs. Busier than today (and today was busy!) plus choc walk participants get free parking in pumba lot and Mickey structure. So if you do decide to brave the crowds park at toy story lot. - ImAlwaysCrazy

Not sure how it started, but couple of people in line just arguing about gay rights. It made for a very uncomfortable environment for the families around...
I will not go into my political and philosophical views here; but this is why I don't think events like this should be held at the park.
I think it is wonderful that DL has these events that focus on equality and love. Disneyland can not control that some folks out there are intolerate dumbos. Really would be a great opportunity to share with your kids that it is arguments like these that divid us and hurt. Or you could always ask kindly the people lower their voice and give the eye down to the kid like hint hint. But really common basic human rights for all is something no matter where you go should not be hidden or acted like it doesn't exist. - BooEve123

Personally I don't think we should recognize any group, color, religion. We are all Americans. When we divide ourselves by groups we diminish the fact that we are all one nation under God, the devil the non believers, Muslims, Jews Baptists, Born againers, Catholics or Protestants. We should all be one united people. We all scream equal rights to be treated like everyone else, yet we must have a day that recognizes as one thing special. Okay,I want straight day, wow can you see the protests on that. I want white day, and Afroamerican day, Latino day, Italian Day, people with freckles day, people with brown eye day. See where I'm going with this. It's free to be at Disneyland Day. And I don't want a day for anything I am or affiliated with day. This is what divides us as a nation. - splashphotoCM

For those that went to the party last night; how was it? What were the crowds like? What was the coolest character you saw? And how did wristband distribution work; did the people that were in the park during the day have to go out and go to a ticket booth to get it and then go back in?
Sorry for all the question, but this is my first year doing the Halloween party.
We were there last night- early entry starts at 4pm, but it was super crowded when we arrived at 5pm. You have a special entrance to go through at the gates- then you get a wristband right there and a small goodie bag for candy. Once it's 7pm- you can't get on any rides or walk through parts of the park without a wristband. The rides were practically all walk-ons or less than 20 minute waits! Trick or treat lines were long- but moved fast. Dance parties were fun with variety of music. Fireworks were incredible! Don't miss them! Didn't see the parade or many characters walking around, but then we weren't looking for them either. Well worth the ticket price! Dress up- everyone does! Have fun! - princessSue

There were crowds but the candy stations moved very quickly. Some thrill attractions had longer waits (30-40 minutes) while others were walk on. You could get a wristband in the park in Frontierland, where the pin traders use to be. The far right main entry gates were reserved for party goers. Either provided bags and wristbands. The villains on Main Street were very cool but there was a plethora of characters for every taste. Have a great time! - minigirl1156

Like what they said, it was crowded during the mix in time (which is typical). The thing I noticed was the conjested areas around the ROA, having two treat trails, POTC and Mansion being in the same area, causing a lot of traffic. But other than that, the crowds were a lot less after fireworks and the second parade - BaseballMickey_CM
