Disneyland History: this was shared on the Disney History Institute page. It's a copy of the original prospectus for Disneyland. Very high level explanations of what Walt wanted. It's interesting to read how much if it actually went through, and what didn't. Be prepared there are a few comments that are very un-PC, but keep in mind this was written in 1954 and is a written history in itself of tha More...
This really is incredible! I wish there was more to read & aerial photos from when this was written... Very cool piece of Disney history, thanks for sharing! - DiamondInTheRough

Wow, I had forgotten about the moving walkway that went to the monorail. I think his vision of Main St was pretty spot on, down to the taped second floor 'happenings'. What a nice read, thanks Gia. - Linzee

I enjoyed watching this video.....brought back a lot of memories. I love how they showcased some more of the old dancers like Phil and Bill and they talked about Rose and Dubby who were very close family friends and part of the scene in the beginning and then into its revival in the 90s...The big problem was that these videos dont show when it was dead on most Saturday nights as the older folks have been dying off and the younger crowds stopped going. It was not until it was doomed that the crowds started comeback and that was great to see..I know when it comes back that the crowds do as well and management decides to keep it past the summer - Dave

I watched this the other day. I was asked to be interviewed for the documentary on the final night, but I couldn't go the day they needed me bc of work 😞 It was awesome seeing Dave's and my good friend Alex in it!!!! It was really well done and I loved seeing them talk about Rose and Dubby!!! They were the one couple you looked forward to seeing every week! Their enthusiasm was amazing!!! The one thing i loved the most about going back in the 90s was it was like having a family there every weekend. But like Dave said, in the beginning of 2000, it started to thin out and slowly the older couples passed away. It just wasn't the same. I know I stopped going for quite a while in the early 2000s. Every now and then, I would stop by to see if there was anyone I knew, but usually not. It was nice to see a new scene growing and it coming back to life in the late 2000s. I can't wait for the 15th! I'm really going to try and get back into dancing as much as I can once it returns. I miss it. I hope everyone comes out like on the closing night!! Thanks for posting this link. I was going to but forgot. - caramiapoohAKAface

Swing dancing at CPG has been on my list forever. My husband and I even took dance lessons so we could go dancing but every time we went everyone was so good and knew each other we just sat and watched. We went the last 3 Saturdays and even got enough courage to dance the last night. We will definitely be there on the 15th. I didn't know they gave lessons at 6:30, we will be there for that. Thank you for all the info!!!!! - Boundin

New bratwurst at Troubadour Tavern! $7.19. Delicious flavors - savory, buttery, with just the right hint of vinegar from the bacon sauerkraut. Only issue is that it's more of a knife and forker because of the casing on the sausage. Tough to just bite into. So I definitely recommend grabbing a seat and enjoying this fantastic meal!
I'm about 15 mins early but I'm ready to be in bed bit want to wish MissMolly a very happy bday...so glad that you decided to join mw and it's been a ton of fun helping you and learning more about your journey on learning more about your grandfather who was a big part of the Disney company for so many years...Thanks for being a good friend over the last 6 months and I know I'm not the only one on More...
From yesterday: Trying to get a picture with these three was not easy. They were being so silly.
You and your mini got some of the best character pics of the weekend!! - Willierose

Thank you! There are more. We were there when each of the fan 5 came out to dance with the band. It was amazing to see them out doing more than just taking photos. We got very lucky with timing. - goofymom2boys 394.9 #338 1:48PM

Please indulge me, but can we please take a quick moment to send our MW family thoughts and prayers out to part of my "family" of First Responders who are dealing with the tragedy in Oklahoma today. No doubt we have MW family from there too. Thank you all!
Thanks for saying it brotha. They definitely need our prayers right now. I'm checking if they need volunteers to go help their national guard with relief effort. - SpiritOfAdventure

I'm sure they can use all the help they can get. I'll be checking into seeing if emergency personnel is needed too. - DisneyDavidEMT 451.2 #273 9:58PM
Hats off to all you crazy nice peeps that risk your own lives for perfect strangers who might otherwise not survive if it weren't for y'all being so crazy with consideration of the well being of others and stuff. - GrumpyPirateDad

Hee hee! Yeah, my husband actually hurt his foot pretty badly and didn't think he could make it. I'm so tired, though, it probably worked out for the best :) Thanks for having me as your roomie!!! I can't believe we didn't get a shot of all 6 of us squished in the 3 beds! 😂 - MissMolly 692.8 #143 9:18PM
