today I had a tough day at the parks...my son is autistic and I'm amazed at how crude people are especially today...people were telling my son to shut up... I just left the park heartbroken

I'm so sorry you had to experience that. A few weeks ago my daughter got made fun of on Pooh. She's hard of hearing so she still makes a lot of babbling sounds and can be quite loud since she doesn't understand how to control the volume of her voice. The couple in front of us were annoyed by the noises she was making and the wife started to mimick her halfway through the ride. After we got off they walked away from us quickly, I shouted after them that I hope they were proud of themselves for making fun of a deaf 4 year old. I'm really sorry to hear this, people never change.. I was at the parks a year ago and got a really bad sun burn on my chest and shoulders that started to peel really bad, people actually were making fun of me in the lines for rides, I ended up buying a jacket because I felt so insecure. - steffi 5.6 #9826 8:55AM

hey guys last week was one of the hardest weeks of my life...my lil guy got diagnosed with autism and I've been having a hard time accepting it so this week I decided to take him every day to dl and ca so he spend time with his "buddies" like he says

Twelve years ago they tried to diagnose my son with autism. I refused to believe it and always kept him challenged and pushed to do his best. This year he graduates high school as valedictorian, president of two different clubs, and on his way to the Air Force Academy. Do not think of it as a bad thing. You were blessed with a beautiful child that just so happens to have a little special attribute to him. I have a brother who has Downs and as much as it saddens me, everytime he laughs or smiles it absolutely brightens my day because I know it's true.
