I live in TX but grew up in so Cal going to DL was a huge part of my life. Having an AP a majority of my life. Although far away I'm now passing the tradition onto my own 2 sweet children.

Advice needed for CA ADV for our trip in a few weeks. We have a 3 yr old and 4 yr old. Where do we go first, RSR or ?? Should I get fastpass for WOC and RSR, which do I go to first? Now I've been to the park a million times but never started our day there. I know DL you go to Fantasyland first but know nothing about CA Adv in the morning! THANKS!
Personally, I wouldn't worry about WOC until later. Go to RSR first and then get a fast pass after you ride it once. That way you can do it twice in one day. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  620.4 #274 12:47PM
And then go to TSMM - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  620.4 #274 12:48PM
Make sure your kiddos are tall enough to ride.  It's a 40 inch height requirement and they will be measured several times along the way.  - IDVandalSkipperCM  2072.4 #55 12:55PM
πŸ‘†That too! - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  620.4 #274 12:57PM
Yes they are both tall enough, I have tall kids! My 4 yr old is 45 inches and my 3 yr old is 43 inches! They both love Big Thunder already!   - disneymommy0910  234.4 #1405 1:11PM

Booked our flights to CA for the 1st week of May, which means 2 days at DL/CA Adv!!! SO excited! We got spoiled in Dec with free dining at WDW and did a lot of character meals! So I booked for my little princess a lunch at Ariels Grotto, any suggestions for food or reviews of what we should do/not do? Also when I made the reservations it says 4 adults, is that correct, can I not choose children?
There are different prices for adults and kids, so I'd check on that. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  620.4 #274 10:25AM

It's been a while since I've been on here. Hope everyone is well! I have a wdw question, thought there was a mw for wdw but can't find it. Just wondered if anyone knows how the crowds are the week following thanksgiving at wdw. We are hoping to go for the first time dec 1st for a week. I figured the same as DL so I was hoping not super crazy! Thanks!
I hear that is a good time to go cause most kids are in school. When we go in a couple of years that is the same time frame we want to go. We've done the middle of October and it wasn't bad. - GoofyMom77  474.3 #384 10:22AM

I wanted to post a warning about the special for tickets at Costco that was going on not too long ago and if they are still selling them (I don't know if they are). We flew out for Christmas and had our 4 day tickets a friend bought us. On the 3rd day we were denied entry. After some research I'm finally getting answers from Disney. Apparently our tickets were used 2 days in October. I'm thinking   More...
They aren't selling them anymore but that is very interesting. Thanks for the heads up! - brodysmommy  334.8 #627 5:27PM
I would imagine Costco could access when you purchased these tickets because dont they swipe your membership card when making a purchase? If so, they could print it out for you and compare it to the first day the tickets were used. That way it would be easier to settle your issue. That is just crazy and I'm sorry that happened to you. - aidensmama  340.1 #610 5:35PM
Yeah, no matter what there's always some crook, trying to come up with someway to steal, that is why its always best to double check the balance or whatever is on the card. I hope you somehow get your money back or ticket exchanged! - secretagentangel  1242.8 #101 6:08PM
What a mess, I hope you make sure Costco is aware of this they should not accept a return of tickets or gift cards and if it isn't against their policy it should be! - akpoppins  263.1 #1091 8:29PM
I agree, stuff like that should be non returnable - MarshaMouse  3953.0 #23 9:35PM
I don't know that gift cards are refundable, they generally are not at other stores. If they were, I would think they would check the balance first and void it out rather than put it back in circulation. - bluefairy  643.3 #257 10:46PM
Call the Costco you purchased the tickets from & ask to speak to the warehouse manager. They should take care of you especially since you have the info from Disney. The tickets sold at Costco came directly from Disney, not another source. Costco will take care of you - I've worked for them for over 25 years & at our building we take care our members. - Anders  4.2 #19092 9:06PM

I was wondering if anyone knows if DL still sells the travel coffee cups that were a hard plastic and had a handle? My mom wants one and I didn't see them when I was there and ran out of time to look. I'd be even more grateful if someone would be willing to buy/ship to me and I'd pay for all the costs. Thanks!

Quick question about disneyland tickets, hope someone can help... We have a 4 day pass and our first use was dec 26th, I had always planned to go on the 7th but now I'm doing my math and so my question is does it expire the 13th day which I assume is the 7th or does the first day I use it count as day 0? I know I'm more of a lurker than a poster so I apologize for that. It seems I can only post quickly when I have questions as my 2 little ones keep me running! With that said, I'd like some advice on what days we should plan for Disneyland around the holidays. I did ask a few weeks ago but now we are planning for 2 days instead of 1 and they don't have to be consecutive. We are flying in on the 24t  More...
Well, the downside to going after Christmas week, is *most* of the Holiday decorations will come down after New Year's Day. Which means you will not be able to see NBC Haunted Mansion and possibly no lighted castle. - Alicewhoareyou  1021.8 #145 11:38AM

Hmmm looking back last year, it felt that near New Years and week after New Years seemed more crowded than before holidays. I guess people are done shopping and enjoying being with family more. If I have to pick a day or two it would be 24, last year crowds weren't bad at all. And before the new year but really just keep in mind it'll be busy but go as early as possible to avoid crowds - MarshaMouse  3953.0 #23 11:42AM

If your there until the 8th I like would go between the 3-6, most of the Christmas stuff will still be up and the crowds will be a wile lot less between the 20th to the 2nd! Have fun! - akpoppins  263.1 #1091 3:01PM
Not true. I went Jan 3-5 and it was crowded. The Rose Bowl is usually on NYD and the families of the two teams pretty much invade the parks the week of the game. This year everywhere we went all insane were Oregon Ducks and Wisconsin Badgers shirts, jackets and hats. Most of the OL for Michigan State and their families were at the parks too. - KermitFan13  644.0 #256 4:45PM
A few years back I went on the 23rd or so and we zipped through, even snagging the blue bayou for lunch with no wait. It's the busiest shopping day of the year, everyone's at the mall. - bluefairy  643.3 #257 3:10PM

When Do the crowds start to die down after Christmas? Would new years day be a good day to go? Thanks!
Seems to be good after...around the 7th I think. My birthday is the 5th, and it always seems busy around my birthday, we end up going later in the week. 😊 - Sweet_Irish_Cream  3765.1 #25 2:05PM
Christmas overlay stays up till Jan 6 this year. New Years day is busy, but still maneuverable - GoofyMom77  474.3 #384 2:08PM
We went New Years Eve & it was unbelievably crowded!! It was the same on the 1st. I agree that towards the 6th or 7th would be your best bet! - GrimGrinningAmanda  660.1 #249 3:41PM
Personally I would plan a trip with the 6th being my first day in the parks and then have a lot less crowds, however, several of the attractions will close so the decor can be taken down, like HM, IASW to mention a few. - splashphotoCM  885.6 #166 4:06PM

I don't mind sitting and waiting for the parking structure to open. Sorry for the many questions! Hope to post more quality over the next 2 days! Thanks!

We're in CA! So excited to be here. Will be at DL Monday! Quick question, world of color; what is the best way to see/do it, the fast pass or the picnic lunch? I know where to get the fast pass but times to get it? As soon as possible?
If you are going the WOC fastpass route, you will want to get them first thing in the morning. You will then need to line up an hour (?) before your show time. I have only seen the show once 😁 I'm not much of an expert. Try searching for World Of Color info on MW. I'm sure there are oodles of info from previous posts. Either way you choose, enjoy! 😊 - Jewelz  507.1 #355 8:15AM
Basically the picnic lunch is for someone who will not be at the parks early and wants to see the show of their choice in the blue or yellow section. But you have to wait like everyone else. The lunches are served cold, FYI. FP if you are getting to parks early and save the money from the picnic meals. - JenInWonderland  1025.6 #143 8:18AM
Since it's Mem. Day I'd do picnic. Not a very big meal but a nice lunch. This way you don't have to worry about waiting in a forever-long-line before the show. Have fun!! - JNewie  228.6 #1489 8:18AM
