Hi guys!!!! I'm coming to New York and Disneyland with my mini in November and was thinking of taking him to see The Lion King on Broadway. He will be 7. Does anyone recommend other shows or the best place to arrange tickets? (I'm in australia :) ) Cheers 😊
Wait you do know Disneyland is not in New York right? 😜 - CourtyAstroBlisters  431.2 #289 7:52PM
I think when you're flying across the world to the US it's the same place to them. - Westcoast  60.9 #3553 8:46PM
Yeah, it seems like a huge difference to us, but for people traveling overseas, it's all one destination 😊 - Spoonful_O_Sugar  435.8 #283 8:55PM
Hehe!!!!! I do!!!! But we have 5 days in New York before heading back to LA. - ariel1981  276.7 #756 8:57PM
Well have a great time!! I have never been to New York! - CourtyAstroBlisters  431.2 #289 9:10PM
I recommend getting the NY City Pass. Admissions to so many places, you will never see it all in 5 days. (Does not include Broadway shows though). I know that in Time Square there is a place you can buy broadway tickets, for same day shows, that have not sold yet. - AZDisney  242.6 #1073 9:11PM
I should say they sell them at a discount. Have fun! I love NY! It is the best big city I have visited. - AZDisney  242.6 #1073 9:19PM
I πŸ’œNYC - Plumiegirl  3321.9 #10 9:28PM
I went NYC almost 10 years ago. I went to the place in Time Square that AZDisney mentioned. I think it is called TKTS. There was a really long line to buy the discounted tickets to all the different shows. - PrincessTianna  83.0 #3232 10:27PM
He's 7....Lion King! Hands down. Enjoy! - MrsSchnooks  570.6 #192 9:25PM
I agree! It's a great show, and will definitely keep him entertained! - duckchub  288.7 #676 10:53PM

The Lion King will be back at the Pantages Theater in LA in November, too. Maybe Newsies in NY, Lion King in LA? - JustCantWait  778.7 #122 11:10PM

Hi everyone!! I'm still debating on this premium pass for our trip in November :) If the 4 of us do character dining or a park tour etc, do we ALL get the discount or just the passholder? Thanks guys!!!!
If you have one check, you can use it. I don't think you can use it for 4 separate checks. - Oinker34  867.7 #104 3:41PM
This. We've also had problems (though not everytime) when the ap last name and cc last name are not the same (ie my ap and bf's cc) - Pixarprincess  531.4 #214 3:47PM
we've always had to have the passholder pay if it is with a credit/debit card but cash is never questioned ;) and we've had up to 6 on one check, but I'm guessing it would include your entire party/bill :) - Lola027  444.8 #277 3:50PM
Thank you:) also the last trip we did we have 5 day hopper tickets and asked about adding 2 days when we arrived (we opted not to do universal/Legoland) and only paid $5 per person per day. Do you know if they still do that?! - ariel1981  276.7 #756 3:56PM

Hello everyone!!! Haven't been on the boards for a while but, after dad breaking his back 2 weeks before our booked trip in November, he is on the road to recovery and we are re-booked!!!!! Yay!!!!!! So will be there from 15-28 November :)
Sounds like you've got lots of time for dad to continue healing. Hope he's back to normal as quickly as possible! That must have been awful! Have fun looking forward to your trip! - meridafan  1032.2 #84 10:15PM
Sorry to hear about your dad's injury, but I am glad to hear he is recovering and that you were able to rebook. You all have much fun to look forward to in November :) - DisLUVney  333.4 #451 10:25PM
Hope he heals quickly and you have a wonderful time when you get here! - MrsSchnooks  570.6 #192 10:32PM
Thanks everyone! I am so excited. But not quite as much as my little boy!!!! Are the discounts for premium pass holders worth the extra? It would cost me $330 for a 10 day pass from australia. - ariel1981  276.7 #756 10:38PM
Check out the cost of the 14 day park hopper. We get that in NZ and its only about $10 more. It's great if you are doing something else during the day and just want to pop over for tea or fireworks. Enjoy your holiday in November! - DisneylandKiwi  3.5 #17531 11:52PM
The premium discount is currently 20% on merchandise and 15% on food. If you will have a car, the parking is included, which saves $15/day. If you know how much you spent on your last trip, perhaps you can see if that will be worth the difference. Premium passes are US$649 right now, so if you decide to do it, just one of you needs to get the AP. - bluefairy  627.0 #173 2:22AM

Hi everyone :) With 16 days til we arrived we had to cancel our trip after dads accident :( We are hoping to come in March next year. We were booked at the HoJo in a kids suite and this room isn't available in March. Can anyone suggest another hotel walking distance that has a similar set up in the 2 separate sleeping rooms? Our brochures here in Australia only have a couple of hotels in them! Tha  More...
We usually stay at desert inn and its right across the street and has 2 rooms with 2 queen beds in each room and is very cheap and they also have a room that has 2 queen beds and a door that separates a couch that folds to a bed. Not sure how many beds you need... But we like it there cuz of price and convience. You can also look at google earth to check out hotels around - brodysmommy  243.6 #1060 9:19PM
I would also recommend Desert Inn. Within walking distance and 2 rooms with a small living room area with sofa bed separating the two. - PoppinsWoo  254.8 #961 9:26PM
The Portifino has a kids suite with a bunk bed , and pull out couch bed, a little table and chair set. The room is separated by French doors. - 7mouskedoodles  161.1 #2137 9:30PM
We have stayed there many times. It's a slightly longer walk than the HoJo but we have been happy. Clean rooms and we have always had good service. Check their Internet rates, they change often - PrincessKristin  774.5 #124 9:34PM

Hi there! Is anyone able to tell me the tax rates and charges added to character dining? Thank you do much :)
CA sales tax is 8.75% - Mouse4life  1037.7 #82 8:16PM
Sales tax is different by county - cesium55  529.7 #215 8:22PM
OC sales tax is 8.75% - debbiev  58.6 #3585 8:26PM
^ what she said, cities and counties can also add a sales tax - Mouse4life  1037.7 #82 8:28PM
In San Diego it's 7.75% - princessamandamarie  213.0 #1441 8:29PM
Depends on which part of Dan Diego you are in. Also, with the character dining they add in the tip as well as the tax. - Lelundrial  339.6 #430 8:30PM
OC sales tax is 7.75% isn't it? - IDVandalSkipperCM  1290.2 #63 8:33PM
You are correct IDVandalSkipperCM, it's 7.75% - debbiev  58.6 #3585 9:30PM
Thank you very much!!! - ariel1981  276.7 #756 9:41PM
I think if you buy the character dining tickets beforehand the tax and gratuity was included. At least, that's how it used to be a couple years ago. Things change. Especially prices. πŸ˜©πŸ’Έ - luv2laffhahahaha  97.1 #3056 8:02AM

Hi everyone!!!! 3 weeks and we will be there :) I wondered what the best viewing for WOC is? We were looking at doing the picnic but weren't sure if that's the best way to go. I knew you guys would have suggestions!!!!! Thank you and can't wait to be there!!!
I personally haven't done the picnics but I've heard mixed reviews. Depending on what your budget is, you can consider one of the dinner packages from Ariel's grotto or Wine Country Trattoria. I've seen WoC from the bridge and it was amazing just because you have a good view without obstructions in front of you and no fast passes needed just make sure you get there early enough to sve seats. But really any place you watch it you'll enjoy it. - TikiJOSEsWingman  329.5 #473 6:07PM
Agree. You don't need an expensive dinner pkg. to enjoy WOC - debbiev  58.6 #3585 8:19PM
We always do the dinner package and its worth it but I have also watched from other places and enjoy ed it :) - tiggertwin  317.8 #526 8:43PM
Thanks everyone :) I was looking at the Carthay Circle option too as I think only need entree and appetizer/dessert. Traveling with a mini so as happy as I am to line up super early not sure how early could with him!!!! - ariel1981  276.7 #756 9:42PM
If you do go with the Carthay Circle option, it is gorgeous and the food is delicious. So worth it! - LemmeBrwThtTop  3.1 #25690 10:03PM
If you're there between Fri-Sun, the second show of WOC, most of the time, isn't that crowded. - BaseballMickey_CM  2802.6 #16 9:51PM

Hi all! I'm coming to DL in 65 days!!!! Is anyone able to point me in the direction of where I can find ride closures? I searched posts and saw Roger Rabbit closed!!!! I've been twice in 3 years and it's been closed both times :(
If you call a day or 2 before you get there they can let you know what rides are on sesonal refurbs, or getting decorated, or not working. Just call the night or day before you go - NeverlandClub  314.5 #540 6:42PM
