My family bleeds Disney. My mom was at Disneyland when It opened in 1955. My parents use to go on dates there back in the 1960's when it was $5.00 for admission. They went to Grad nite in 68' while I went in 90'. Our family vacations pretty much center

Not everyone has $17.00 each time to park at the deck and a lot of the people in the photos for the meet ups are 1/2 my age (I'll be 42 in a month). With the reunions, I never get picked like the bowling night that started off the bowling league. Lastly, with the groups that meet at the bakery pIace this past year, I can't afford to eat there. The reason I go to this meetup groups is that I'll meet more people my own age. I don't go to their meet ups on the weekends because mine is a M-F. I go to a meetup on a Friday night in DCA. It lasts only a couple of hours an that tides me over until I go to the parks on my own. - oceanfan90  48.2 #4374 7:30PM
Well, I'm 45 and Mr S is 48 and LaBrea validates parking at DTD and we sit outside and I've only bought food once or twice. You're not forced to buy food and MW is full of people of all ages. You'd be surprised by how many wonderful people you meet. Age is just a number and Disney lovers never grow up. - MrsSchnooks  2715.5 #35 10:28PM
I'm almost 39. The reunion is still a bit off and was announced last month I think. I don't think I are at the Birthday Bash at all, I'm not a fan of La brea's food and didn't eat at the pin meetup there last week either. Parking is $16 in the Resort lots and I believe less at the convention center. It got to be a lot for me too last year and I learned to park at downtown Disney if I go for short trips, but it's also part of why I decided to upgrade to premium finally, besides I really enjoy going on holidays and my birthday is in summer. I didn't know we picked teams at the reunion, I call red team! - BeatleMike  511.6 #350 10:40PM
You don't get picked for the reunions, you submit a form to say you are interested.  the bday bash was anyone come anyone at all.  the reunion was be the first to buy the ticket.  $15 was the highest last year and that was for a free private movie screening.  admin added more tix each week to accomodate everyone who was interested.  there was not any cover at the bday bash and many did not eat.  same with the reunions.  the bowling party was send in your form and he did a raffle, new and old were picked, though some did go by if you contributed to the lounge as much as you could.  most people I see at the meetups are over 30, over 40, over 50 and the younger ones get stuck hanging out with us all,lol and have a lot of fun doing it.  look at it from a different standpoint that you can be friends with anyone any age if they love disney.  and as for parking, that comes with anything disney, maybe you could carpool, but if you can afford to go to DCA for meetups, then maybe you can come to one of ours at DCA or DL too and many are on the weekends.  they are usually announced in this hub right here and sometimes in events land.  so hopefully you did not know any of that but if you like your social clubs that is great for you too.  just wanted to let you know the info that was correct so you could come to one of our meetups someday if you so wish.  Have fun either way!! - secretagentangel  1242.8 #101 11:07PM
oh, one other thing, if you buy dinner for yourself it is usually the same price as parking, and they validate so you get dinner and parking is free!!!!:) - secretagentangel  1242.8 #101 11:09PM

I think this social web is a lot more complex than a lot of people first assume.  It'll be interesting to see what ends up happening and how these groups evolve.  It's really up to them: if they want to be seen in a positive light, then they'll need to take action against the people in their groups who are perpetuating those stereotypes.  I get that they're trying to take something that's often seen as negative, or a counter-culture, and use it positively, but with titles such as "Main Street Elite" and non-verbal communication such as walking six-abreast slowly down Main Street, it's no wonder people are turned off by the whole idea.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  527.0 #336 8:28PM

Do character greetings. Do classic ones for a young man. When he goes on the rides, take a picture of his reaction at the loops or drops instead of buying the pictures. I've always wanted to do that. Be at DCA early for toy story mania & radio springs racers. These two rides throughout the day get longer and longer. Hope this helps.

I'm sorry but we're not called Indians, but Native Americans. What you have is a "cigar Indian" which was put in front of general stores in the old west. They were carved to make fun Of us and to exaggerate our features.
No you attempted to make something out of nothing. The gentleman is referring to the statue. Which you said is a Cigar Indian. This isn't about race what so ever. I was correcting the object this person was referring to. Since the person used an outdated cultural reference to my culture I wanted to make sure when people see this object in the park, they'll know that what I said historically before is correct not that it was about advertising. It was about rascism.

Even though this was informative to the audience, most of the dancers were not native Americans. Although, southern ca.has many indigenous tribes Disneyland could have hired to make the show more culturally correct. I'm Cherokee/Choctaw.
I loved this show! As did my daughter who was 5-7 yrs old during the show's run. We saw it every time we went, sometimes more than once a day! And it's true...there were a lot of injuries! The stage was built on an angle (sloped down towards audience) to allow a different view for the audience. This created an unnatural surface for the actors/dancers to move on and there were lots of twisted and broken ankles. I remember one show in particular where Pocahontas went down and still did the rest of the show, but limped through it. - Gia  801.8 #190 11:27AM

I started collecting Disney beanies about 20 years ago because of a sale in the Disney stores that has never happened again: $3.00 each. Even today I still buy one occasionally. I also collected the small globes that we're sold in the Disney stores.
My 4 year old daughter collects the pressed pennies and quarters. She almost has a book filled up. - Nicole  380.2 #506 7:40PM
Added 6 pennies and 3 quarters today :) - Nicole  380.2 #506 4:29PM
I have a whole storage container filled with random Disney collectibles and knick-knacks. Pressed pennies, old school Nintendo games, art pieces I've gotten from several MouseWaiters.. The list goes on! I recently scored a box of Disneyland "Record and books" from 1955-1970 as well. Gah, now I want to go look through it all again. Great idea, btw!  - ScubaSteve028  835.7 #180 9:50PM
😱 if my letter is in a box and not on high display, I want it back! - AshleyLynn22  791.2 #194 9:28PM

I have about 300 Disney die cast cars from the movie cars. These are made by the same company that makes Hotwheels and they take up about 5 large containers. I even have exclusive cars that only Kmart and Comicon had. - VinnieThePooh  3.4 #26525 9:47PM
I started collecting maps since 2007, the first being the Red Hot Chili Peppers cover of the two attractions. I lost most of them and am wanting to find more in order to start the collection - dizneypianist  31.8 #5105 1:15PM
