I've been to both, twice, and I prefer Carthay. Blue Bayou is so tiny and crowded.

I haven't tried carthy circle yet, but blue bayou is ANAZING in my opinion. The gumbo is a must. The room is very dark, as you know, and for some people that's a problem, but overall the experience is quite nice. - WonTonInWonderland  120.4 #3154 8:33AM

Add me please!  We will be in DL at the beginning of November.  My favorite holiday tradition is getting a picture of the family in their Christmas jammies on Christmas morning. :)

I don't have enough points, and I offer my service as a personal shopper/bag carrier. I will personally load your car as long as you take me into Company D with you !!  My favorite tradition is the church service on Christmas Eve, time for quiet reflection for true meaning of the season. Enjoy to who ever wins :) - Sleepingbeautysmom  305.9 #829 10:53AM
If we can add for others, please add me for 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet! Thank you so much for sharing these passes! - SPandEvLover  3852.1 #32 10:56AM
Oh shoot! Forgot my holiday tradition... There's a thing called Christmas Tree Lane in Fresno. It's a long stretch of road where all (well, most) of the houses decorate beautifully and the streets are lined with Christmas lights. You usually drive through, but two nights each year there is a walk through. We try to go on at least one of those nights and take cocoa (sometimes it might have a punch to it lol) and walk the whole thing. I especially like to keep an eye out for all the Disney decorations hehe - SPandEvLover  3852.1 #32 12:08PM
😘😘😘thank you for adding for me!! You are the best sister wife ever!!! I love your tradition😍 we used to do the same thing when my oldest two were young...I wish that Bleyn was into doing something like that...it makes things a bit challenging to include him when he doesn't want to participate. Wish we lived closer..I would totally have some hot cocoa with a little special warm up juice with you guys 😁 - 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet  1275.5 #126 5:11PM

Please add me for your generous RAK.  I have enjoyed reading some of the stories that have been shared.  Even though I don't have a personal connection to someone in the armed services, I certainly appreciate the sacrifices they make.

I'm feeling extra mushy tonight so I'll share a story:  I was standing behind my bar 10 minutes before we lock the doors and close for the night.  Kitchen was clean, beer was stocked I was ready to go home.  All of a sudden no less then 10 cars pull into the parking lot and all these people start piling out.  I was like oh heck no, I wanna go home.  I was fully prepared to explain and apologize that we were closed when an older gentleman walked in surrounded by close to 40 young men and women.  He explained that he just buried his only son who was 19 and was killed in Iraq.  The soldiers he was with served with his son and some were high school friends.  He wanted to know if they could have a few beers and reminisce.  I choked back my tears and started opening beer bottles.  I paid the kitchen guys out of my pocket to open up and send out some appetizers.  Yeah it was probably against the law but I didn't card any of them, I figure if they can be over there carrying a gun and risking their lives for our country they could have a dang beer.  I only charged them for half of what they consumed.  I watched for 2 hours while they all laughed, hugged and shared stories with the father of the fallen soldier.  He even came over to thank me and share stories...wearing a button with his son's picture on it.  All I could manage to say to each of them that night was thank you...thank you for your service.  Okay..sorry that was long and happened 8 years ago, but it's still so fresh.  Please add me, thank you!! - Linzee  1127.2 #150 10:32PM
This is starting to become a really emotional night, you are awesome. - sleepyhead_CM  596.5 #322 10:37PM

Yowza...thanks everybody and thank you for reading.  The father really struck a cord with me of how unbelievably proud he was of his son.  This is an event that I've only shared with a few people, it's nice to be able to have so many on here appreciate what I was able to be a part of that night.   - Linzee  1127.2 #150 8:52AM

Wow, this is an incredibly generous RAK. Please add me. We always thank service men or women when we see them. In fact, we have taught our boys to do the same. When we see someone in uniform, my boys will ask if they can thank them for their service. It's important the next generation appreciates and acknowledges the sacrifice and commitment. Thank you for this incredible RAK and reminder for all of us. - goofymom2boys  1467.5 #104 5:37PM

Thank you for the add duckhub!!! My oldest is very curious and outgoing by nature and he really enjoys going up to service men and women and thanking them. Their reactions are priceless. One gentleman even saluted my son who thought that was so cool. Little interactions like that make a lasting impression. - goofymom2boys  1467.5 #104 7:49PM
Great story and thank you for sharing Linzee. My father (retired Marine and Vietnam Vet) just had a week long reunion in San Diego. It was my first time to meet the men he served with and personally thank them for taking care of him after he stepped on a landmine. The pride these men have for being Marines is amazing and it was an honor to be in their presence. It has also inspired me to look into volunteering at Camp Pendleton's Wounded Warrior Battallion.  - mickeypants  105.9 #3412 6:00PM

You can go to Disneyland until party time (6:00 or 7:00?), then hop over to DCA for the rest of the evening. Check the DL calendar to see which dates have parties!

On days that the party is taking place the DL side is closed early to general admission and the CA side will only be open to guests. You do not have to buy a Halloween party ticket for admission those days unless you want to attend the party and if so I suggest buying those tickets early - Donaldfan_532  242.0 #1397 9:25PM
The Halloween party is a separate ticket than the regular ticket. On the nights of the Halloween party, those who are not attending the party, the park will close at either 6 or 7pm - BaseballMickey_CM  7199.4 #8 9:28PM
