I've been to DL over Christmas and New Year. How busy is it now compared to then? I'm going to be there from 19th July.

I'm coming all the way from New Zeland next month. Should I bring my 'Glow with the Show" ears or do they not have the special viewing areas for them any more? It's a long way to bring them if they are not useful. :-)
Bring them! There's a special fireworks section now! - MrsSchnooks  713.5 #142 9:25PM
There isn't a special viewing area. They are still cool and people around you often will ask you about it. But the reserved areas are only occasional. They MIGHT do it during July 4th weekend. Otherwise you are just one of the cool people wearing them in with the crowds. - DLKenCA  232.6 #1230 11:22PM
can you also bring Lorde to play a show at the Tomorrowland Terrace for us? - Dave  8824.1 #2 11:53PM
Thanks all. So some mixed responses. MrsSchnooks says there are special sections and DLKenCA says there isn't. Can anyone cast the deciding vote? - Simon  7.1 #8342 1:22AM
I'm bumping some info from sleepyhead that should help. I guess it depends on when you're coming. - MrsSchnooks  713.5 #142 1:57AM
I guess the "section" may not be there but they've added the fireworks to it now. - MrsSchnooks  713.5 #142 2:00AM
Thanks for that MrsSchnooks, most appreciated. A bit disappointing as I enjoyed the prime positions at various things without having to line up. - Simon  7.1 #8342 2:09AM

Last day of a 14 day pass! Now I have no retirement fund AND nothing to look forward to. It's been an amazing 14 days though!

What's the best way to see World of Colour? Book a meal, a picnic, fastpass, line up 7 hours earlier?
FYI: the second show is usually less crowded than the first. - BaseballMickey_CM  2993.9 #15 1:09PM
I watched it from Ariel's Grotto. Fantastic in my opinion. And they have heaters too so you don't freeze. - mousejedi  273.0 #816 2:03PM
dont go giving away all the Cove secrets. lol - pridegirl  377.5 #369 5:09PM
I'll have a 4 and 6 year old so lining up early doesn't bode well. Is Ariel's Grotto just a public area you can stand to watch it? - Simon  7.1 #8342 11:24PM
Personally I like booking a meal. Wine Country has never disappointed and I have seen lots of families with young children there :) Any way you do it you will enjoy it :) - tiggertwin  319.1 #542 11:37PM

I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I can buy giftcards at DLR please? I was going to buy some online as Christmas presents for the family but they wanted $25 to post them to me, I figure that's $25 I could spend in the park if I buy them in the park.
I've seen them sold at world of Disney. They are easily found. - Mrs.mouse  426.1 #304 2:49AM
You can also purchase them at ticket booths. Those ones are reload able I believe. - Princessana08  39.6 #4080 8:24AM
If you're talking about the Disney gift cards for spending (rather that ticket cards), they also sell them in grocery stores. Our Von's has them most of the time. - ThatKimberly  335.5 #461 8:36AM

So is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique worth it? And if so can you book online or by email? Or do you not really have to book? I'll be there Dec and early Jan so thinking it wil be busy!
I'd make a reservation. It is expensive but your princess will love it. - Mrs.mouse  426.1 #304 1:59AM
Thanks for that. We're coming al the way from New Zealand so I figure we may as well spend up as we won't be back for a while! - Simon  7.1 #8342 9:34AM
It's worth it,the complete package is awesome with the photo shoot they do. and I would make reservations, that place is always packed. - madsdad  1244.5 #65 9:36AM
Thanks, best I give them a ring then. Maybe a good thing to do on Christmas day when the park is busy, if they haven't already booked out for then. - Simon  7.1 #8342 10:08AM

Ho Jo is booked, got my 14 day passes for the family, airfares are paid for, I'm good to go!
Woohoo!! - DisneyFanZoe  1099.6 #75 5:43PM
Thanks for staying at the Hojo! - Admin 5:52PM
Would need to get the premium AP as we there over Christmas and others have blockout dates. 14 Day park hopper for 4 people only half the price of AP for 4. Didn't know about the discounts though. - Simon  7.1 #8342 10:31PM
It's something to consider. Perhaps jot down a lust of what you expect at the park and figure out the amount you would save and add that to the park hopper cost. Then compare the two totals. :) you also get an ap discount at the hojo so figure that into the equation as well. - aidensmama  339.4 #446 10:39PM
Thanks, is it possible to upgrade, now that I have bought the passes though? - Simon  7.1 #8342 10:41PM
Yes. I believe you pay the difference between the 14 day passes and the ap. - aidensmama  339.4 #446 10:43PM
Thanks, I'll check it out! The annoying thing about the 14 day pass is that it expires 14 days after the first use so can't even use it on 14 random days over 3 weeks. - Simon  7.1 #8342 10:49PM

Hi all. I'm bringing the family over in Dec/Jan. When's the least busy time Dec 20th to around Jan 13th? Or is it all busy?
January would be less busy, but you might have to accept a few attraction closures as the holiday themes are removed, which is a bit of a bummer, especially since you are coming from so far.  There's no place like Disney at Christmas so I'd just commit to a time then go for it.  Even with crowds, with 6 days you will have plenty of time to see and do all you like.  No matter what you'll still have a great time! - MoonWillow  376.7 #370 1:25PM
ITs pretty busy around that time. Your best bet is to hope for rain! That really clears people out - ladylikesdisney  926.7 #96 12:40PM
