So bummed. My wife and I just tried to book for friday and the person who answered the phone told us there was no way we would get this rate and basically laughed at us. We asked if there was someone else we could speak with and he told us Nope! So sad cause we loved our last stay here. - dangerdude  29.0 #5297 5:30PM

Did you ask for "In House" reservations? Because the other one has no idea what you're talking about. - SueBayou  2019.4 #56 5:43PM
^^^This :-)^^^ - uscdisneyteacher  7119.1 #5 5:44PM
Sorry to hear that! Like what sue said make sure you ask for in house reservations or myself when booking this rate. Normal rates for these days start well above $150 so that's the kind of rates the central reservations people see. You can ask for the front desk next time or make sure you're speaking to in house reservations so we won have these issues in the future :) - djbreakdown  573.2 #296 5:53PM
Did you call the number listed above between 9-5 and ask for in-house reservations as instructed? If you did each of those things, I would be very surprised that you got that response. However, once I called doing just that, and because the in-house person was busy, they transfered me to the corporate reservations. When I asked if this was in-house, I was told they have the same rates (not true), so they sent me back to the in-house person who knew what I was talking about! So sorry you got the response you did! Hope things work out. :) - PrincessKristin  780.2 #199 5:58PM
W e did call the phone number given it was before 5 but after djbreakdown left. Our family stayed there when they first offered the retro rate and we even met tommy who gave my son a pirate hat.which was very nice my son loved it and still has it. So I am aware of who to ask foi when I call. I appreciate the help fellow MW's...... i wish we had the chance to meet some more of you! - dangerdude  29.0 #5297 7:36PM

Here's my view on it. Disney Resort is an experiential thing. They just added some major attractions and added to the experience, so raising prices was essential. It's tough, especially in this economy. It's a bummer. But I don't think it was out of any mal intent. I'm not happy about it. Next year, I'll have some major decisions to make in regards to my AP, but I understand why they've   More...
Here's the deal. Last year Disney was thinking about ending the AP park hoppers due to it will be over crowed in Cars Land. They said it will be more locals in DCA then tourist. So my guess is at the last min was to raise park prices to control AP guess. It hasn't been a full year from the last price increase. No theme park in the world is worth $649 a year in AP. it may be a deal to a single person, but to a family of 4 or 6, it's really out of there budget. That's a price of a small car payment. It's sick what there doing. - Gadgetman  288.9 #860 8:20AM
I agree with Gadgetman...If i was single the price wouldn't bother me. When you have a family of 4 or more then its out of the budget. - bigpete  276.6 #949 8:58AM
I am single, and with only one income the price hike is very difficult for me, not as bad as a large family, but still... - BRabbit  528.9 #331 9:00AM
It's $1,000 for a Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea AP - Coaster  14314.0 #1 9:03AM
It's worth it to me. - MXPrincess399  639.3 #259 9:12AM
Yeah, looks like I won't be cold chillin with all the MW'rs anytime soon. And that's with both my wife and I holding jobs! Sads. Seems like now-a-days spending time browsing MW is more about watching other people shop shop shop and spend spend spend, while I save save save. Retirement AP, I'll have you in my grips in another 20 years!!! - littleoysterz  242.3 #1315 10:27AM
Total Bummer Island - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3936.2 #23 10:35AM
Why don't you just go once in awhile instead of everyday. I think you are getting a bargain. - Mickeyandfriends  4.8 #16345 10:49AM
Oh I agree! As a single mom I am going back and forth as to if I am going to be able to afford to renew our AP's. This is a difficult decision because we have made some amazing friends through Mouse Wait and it's going to be hard not seeing them as often. I pray that things work out so we may get our APs renewed this year. - ohhhtoodles  365.2 #540 11:07AM
As a single person that new premium price bothers me and very upsetting. Disney is becoming very very greedy. Even more kids won't be able to enjoy Disney because of the prices. Great Job Disney Executives!! - mstiauna27  89.9 #3503 11:36AM
I have to disagree. I'm disappointed as well, but what is sick is the fact that people coming to Disney for a two day trip which is probably there once a year Vaccation, and can't hardly do anything because lines are soo long. As you mentioned, they could have completely done away with the program, but they didnt. Disneyland is the ONLY park that is worth this price. It will still pay for itself in a very limited number of visits. We have been very spoiled. I have friends all over the world who would die to go to Disneyland. I also have friends that are considered under poverty, and never been, even at old price. Everything is relative, and we need to understand this theory! - Zipitydoodahdad  269.0 #1038 12:10PM
Going to Disneyland as often as you want is a luxury and not a right. I think it's sad when we become sooo complacent that we feel we are ENTITLED to do these very luxurious trips. Some families save for years, just to go for a few days in their entire life. I'm sorry, but this bugs me. Again, I'm disappointed that I can't afford the new passes, but I would never call Disney names or make blanket statements where the realities are being severely distorted. I DON'T LIKE IT, but I understand it, is a fair statement. - Zipitydoodahdad  269.0 #1038 12:17PM
You need to spin your outlook on it. If you do payments...let's say it's $40/$50 a month....that is STILL cheaper than a one day ticket. So even if you go once a month your going at a discounted rate. I'm single but fortunate enough to have a well paying job so I can continue going. If its that important to go maybe there are other luxuries you can cut out. Maybe here isn't. But as Zipp said...it is a luxury. - KissDclown  1089.3 #132 12:24PM
Now I'm really gonna rustle some feathers, I'm going to still get a pass, not sure which one, but with less people buying premium passes, my day will be much more enjoyable! Even handicap lines are out of control this year! Thank you Disney! - Zipitydoodahdad  269.0 #1038 12:26PM
Well I was talking to Alex (churrohoarder) and he said the price increase is really only going to amount to one less dinner per month either at Disneyland or another resturant or maybe bringing the kids anacks rather than buying snacks. Once he put it like that I wasn't quite so sad. I guess I have to make dinner once a month now. But in all honesty, Disneyland is a part of our life, it will make lines shorter and will weed some of the younger teens out that have potty mouths. So if you look at the positives, it will probably be a good thing! 😁 - Minnis2Society  369.9 #530 1:52PM
Im sure there are potty mouths that can afford it XD - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3936.2 #23 2:08PM
It all comes to supply and demand. Even after the increase I'll bet you don't see much of a drop in attendance. And I think it's still a helluva bargain. Check out a 2hr show in Vegas for $120.00 or more per person - nitromouse  275.3 #962 3:34PM
Wow I have been a pass holder for only one year, but sadly after this news my family of six has decided not to renew. 😔 - ChadP  6.6 #12195 5:48PM
$150 increase for Premium AP is unjustifiable. :( - PrinceCorey  4320.4 #20 7:35AM
Yes it is. My guess is cars land went over budget by the same 30% - Vinylchaser  1945.7 #63 7:39AM
Don't forget part of the 150 is the 30 bump for parking so it's 120 AP increase plus the 30 parking increase It's still a jump - mike714  338.1 #616 7:55AM
About 8 years ago it cost $199. What happened! For several years we've lived with refurbs and ride closures and still endured yearly price hikes! Now Bamm! - jacdanfan  6713.7 #7 9:02AM
Agreed. I agree with what some are saying about, "don't complain, Disney isn't a requirement, it's a luxury," but a 30% (or so) jump is absurd. That's not ethical. - KylaShea  629.1 #265 9:27AM
THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - splashphotoCM  885.6 #164 10:09AM
$30 for parking!?? - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3936.2 #23 10:37AM
parking hasn't increased (yet). it's still $15 on the website. doesn't mean that it won't go up.. but i can see it going to $20, not $30... but then again, i'm sure we all saw a 10% increase, not 30%.. sigh. I'd like to think part of the reason was Disney Paris losing 2% net income last year, and Tokyo Disney losing 1% from the Tsunami/quake closure.. and the ridiculously expensive and lavish Aulani resort that opened last year as well. And... the unopened Shanghai Disney that's slated to open in a few years.. money has to come from somewhere and fund other places. sighhh, again. - SultanPprShkr  328.9 #653 3:52PM

It was soooooooo good. I really dont like olives or garbanzo beans but with the romain, tomatoes, feta, pita bread and balsamic vinagrette, it was more or less gastronomic bliss.
I need to start eating like this again. (as I'm drinking a Dr.Pepper and eating sour patch kids) - AshleyLynn22  791.2 #194 5:14PM
it was perfect for the hot day. Very refreshing. Plus I sat at a table under a tree. Right in front of the band. Perfect lunch - sarahbeth  5.8 #13682 5:21PM
It's so hard while in school. - MarshaMouse  3931.1 #24 5:30PM
Oh I know. I pretty much always have an arsenal of snacks in my school bag. Protein bars, string cheese, apples or my favorite: raw almonds and dried cranberries. Nom - sarahbeth  5.8 #13682 5:41PM

Do you happen to know how long they'll be at DCA?
If you enjoy them at DCA, please consider ordering one of their CDs, specifically the Benefit Concert Live CD.  Mike's parents lost their home to the TX wildfires last September, just ONE DAY after retiring.  They have fallen through the FEMA cracks due to ridiculous reasons.  All procedes go to help his parents rebuild.  See Mike's website for more info.  fiddlin4you.com - susieQzee  546.5 #312 6:20PM
By the way, Mike (Michael) is the fiddler. :) - susieQzee  546.5 #312 6:22PM
Thank you for the information! I am definitely going to check them out and try to help them out. - kayceeb  166.3 #2308 1:23AM

thanks for the info, Susie! I know what I'm doing when I get home! My people are in that area too but were spared in the fires. I will definitely be purchasing that cd and recommending others do the same :-) - sarahbeth  5.8 #13682 7:57PM
I'm glad to hear your loved ones were spared. Those were some scary fires! - susieQzee  546.5 #312 8:56PM
Thank you! I actually lived on a farm not far from there. It's so scary. I'm so sad to hear about Mike's parents' house. I will definitely be buying that album, though! They were so so so good. - sarahbeth  5.8 #13682 12:22AM
