Merry Christmas to all who are a part of the Mousewait Family! I hope all going to the parks in the next few days will find crowds less than expected!

I hope the crowds will be less for you too, but with this wonderful weather, I highly doubt it. - Sleepingbeautysmom  299.0 #839 5:16PM

I am so excited for my trip but I am afraid that the diet is going to be totally blown out the window! If you could recommend one thing for a splurge what would you suggest? I can't eat everything!

First off calories don't count at Disneyland!  But if they did, I recommend the salad of the day at Cafe Orleans to help balance whatever evil lies in the Slap yo mama chicken located in the Plaza as it comes highly recommended with double mashed potatoes. - BombFrogFormerCM  816.3 #197 9:12PM
Thank you!  Sound advice! - widowtallan  275.7 #1000 11:40PM
Congratulations on the weight loss!  I've usually been in decent shape but this spring I decided to do endurance challenges such as Tough Mudder, sprint triathlons and such.  I lost over 20 pounds and really watch what I eat.  Disneyland can be fun, just do it in small portions.  Enjoy! - BombFrogFormerCM  816.3 #197 7:16AM
You can also skip the double mashed potatoes and just sub for all green beans. Just sayin ;) - chhunkie  307.4 #791 7:52AM
You can't eat everything; I've tried. I would say Pomme Frites or Beignets if you prefer something sweet. Mmmm - AngieC  234.8 #1442 9:12PM
I agree.. Beignets and some beignets, and if you have room, maybe some beignets for dessert😜 - 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet  1081.5 #144 9:30PM
After dessert maybe some beignets and coffee? - AngieC  234.8 #1442 9:38PM
Now that sounds like a perfectly thought out plan! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ - 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet  1081.5 #144 9:44PM
Other than a love for beignets, did you know that we also share the same name... I'm AngelaC 😊 - 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet  1081.5 #144 9:46PM
Best name ever! Don't suppose your middle name starts with an M also? That would be awesome.  - AngieC  234.8 #1442 10:06PM
No, it doesn't, but my middle name starts with a "C".. So ACC, is cool like AMCπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ - 2BeignetOrNot2Beignet  1081.5 #144 10:09PM
I always see people post that walking cancels out the calories. While it's a nice idea to think of, it's misleading: people overestimate calories burned. To put it into perspective, I ran 12 miles and burned 1,300 calories the other day. That's a meal at In N Out, not even counting soda: not that much food, really. DL walking burns much less. It's very slow (so you don't get your heart rate up for long periods of time, which burns calories), and you don't go as far. Also a lot of people forget to turn their pedometers off on rides, so all of those bumps are registered as steps and counted toward mileage. So, be mindful, but enjoy your day. Don't gorge on everything. Enjoy the foods you love in moderation and walk whenever possible! Just use common sense. - Spoonful_O_Sugar  569.4 #318 9:01AM
Great advice! - BombFrogFormerCM  816.3 #197 9:05AM

I just heard on the news (in Utah) that Disneyland will stop allowing kids in the park without an adult. Is this for liability or for crowd control? Hmmm.

Its to conserve cotton candy. - madsdad  1846.7 #75 9:25PM
Who is sending their 13 or under year old to Disney unsupervised anyway? Both a liability issue and safety for the child, as much as we might not like it there are a lot of creepy people out there and there is no morality or background check to get into the parks - Pixarprincess  540.7 #336 10:12PM
It has already gone into effect for some CMs. Saw it happen on Goofy's Sky School in DCA last week. - Jacqueline  580.0 #312 6:56PM
They based their decision, in part, on the Red Cross's recognition of 14years being a solid age to begin babysitting. Makes sense to me. While I wouldn't leave a 14 year old, or anyone under the age of 17 really, alone at the parks, I do see their pov. Source: LA Times article - KylaShea  632.7 #279 7:04PM
