Hello, I am planning a trip to WDW. Going to be there in January. Had a few questions. Been there before but have stayed on the property. This time, not young and carefree! Lol! I am trying to get more space without going over budget since I am taking my family. Has anyone tried Costco or AAA? Who had a better package? Anyone stay at the Sheraton Vistana Resort? Also is it better to get the Dinin  More...

I have not been in awhile but there have been lots of posts on this.  from what I have read, costco seems great, but there is another travel company people use, search wdw trip maybe?  and from what people have recommended, always buy the dining plan, not sure if you must stay on property for that  but most feel it is best to stay on property.  I was there for an event once and we stayed off property in condos and it was a real hassle driving there every day, it takes a long time to reach each place there since everything is spread out.  bring your poncho though, we were rained on off and on constantly and it was quite muggy. - secretagentangel  8617.0 #11 1:16PM
My wife and I always get a room with extended stay. They run about $50-60 a night and then we rent a car. There is one right by sea world that is a 5 min drive to WDW. Worked great for us.  - TehVoges  143.6 #2923 1:20PM
I'm not sure about the dining plan, if you have to stay on property or not, but for is itsNot worth it. We has it last time but because it was free and we ended up with a few meals and snacks left over at the end because we didn't eat it all! But that's just us.. Others are different. I remember also looking at aaa for that trip and going through WDW website was the same or a little cheaper than aaa but that was with the hotel also so I would say shop around and see what prices are best.  - brodysmommy  467.7 #505 2:08PM
I don't have any recommendations about staying off property other than I don't want to, lol!  As for the dining plan, I believe you do need to be on property.  I did one trip with and one without.  If you are at all a foodie, the table service plan could be well worth it for you, but you need to plan out your reservations up to 6 months out.  Our meals at cinderella's royal table and le celier more than covered what we paid for our dining plan.  If you're there during food and wine, we used the snacks on the plan at the food stalls at Epcot.  We did end up with a meal and a few snacks each at the end because we had to cancel our character dining plan for thr last day.  You can actually use it in the food courts at your resort.  We picked up sandwiches for the plane and Mickey Rice Krispie treats to take home and share.   - bluefairy  643.8 #345 5:55PM
I forgot about the other trip, lol!  The first one was adults only, the second was with kids.  I feel like we maybe spent less money on the second trip without the dining plan, but we also ate more quick service and snacks that we brought with us, which, if you have kids, might be okay with you.  I liked not having to think about how much the food cost, but my friends brought their kids and they can be pretty wasteful when it comes to food, so they didn't want to pay for the plan.   - bluefairy  643.8 #345 6:03PM

Hi quick question. Brain fog. Would like to ask if Ghost Galaxy ends for Halloween or until New Year's? Thank you so much. Trying to plan my visit.
