So the hubby and I are planning our daughter's 4th birthday in August. Last year we stayed at GCH and had them decorate the room. We do not have that kind of money this year and are thinking of staying at Paradise Pier since we have never stayed there. Yeah. It's definitely worth it to stay in the "Disney bubble," but it is a lot of money, and we can't do that more than once or twice a year. I love the Grand, but we have fun no matter where we stay :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar 435.7 #283 11:14PM

The Grand is by far our favorite, but it's super pricey. I looked into AP rates for Paradise Pier, but the calendar only extends out through July so I think I'm going to give the reservation line a call to see what they can do. I'm hoping there will be a discount then just not yet updated online. We've been at the Disneyland Hotel as well and that's awesome too. Staying on property is really nice and you can do some very sweet things for your kids. But as someone that has taken his daughter for her birthday for the last 5 years, there are so many other things you can do to make it special. Last year I planned a MW meetup for her. She still talks about filling a Jungle Cruise boat and all the other things we did. Got this CD set today from the music shop on Main ST and highly recommend it! Check out the song list...amazing! They also have other CDs with many other song choices that I was unaware of.
