I enjoyed watching this video.....brought back a lot of memories. I love how they showcased some more of the old dancers like Phil and Bill and they talked about Rose and Dubby who were very close family friends and part of the scene in the beginning and then into its revival in the 90s...The big problem was that these videos dont show when it was dead on most Saturday nights as the older folks have been dying off and the younger crowds stopped going. It was not until it was doomed that the crowds started comeback and that was great to see..I know when it comes back that the crowds do as well and management decides to keep it past the summer - Dave

The one thing i loved the most about going back in the 90s was it was like having a family there every weekend. But like Dave said, in the beginning of 2000, it started to thin out and slowly the older couples passed away. It just wasn't the same. I know I stopped going for quite a while in the early 2000s. Every now and then, I would stop by to see if there was anyone I knew, but usually not. It was nice to see a new scene growing and it coming back to life in the late 2000s. I can't wait for the 15th! I'm really going to try and get back into dancing as much as I can once it returns. I miss it. I hope everyone comes out like on the closing night!! Thanks for posting this link. Swing dancing at CPG has been on my list forever. My husband and I even took dance lessons so we could go dancing but every time we went everyone was so good and knew each other we just sat and watched. We went the last 3 Saturdays and even got enough courage to dance the last night. We will definitely be there on the 15th. I didn't know they gave lessons at 6:30, we will be there for that. extremely crowded :) CMs have to park at Angel Stadium for the 24th and 25th, so our CM lots are being opened to guests as well as Garden walks parking (but garden walk is a last resort sort of option). Last year around 3pm Harbor, Katella, orangewood, and Ball were all backed up and moving at snails pace. That and all of the off ramps were just as bad - CMallyg92
