I'd say not worth it.. But again this is my opinion I was quiet dissapointed with cars land it's not worth the ticket price increase and it's deffeintly not worth the two hour wait

It depends. Remember that for some people Disneyland is a once-in-a- lifetime trip. If you rarely have the chance to visit the parks, then it's absolutely worth the wait! If you're there every week, then no, probably not. - JustCantWait

There is no flippin way this ride is worth any more than 20 mins in line........ Watching the rope walk, and making fun of the fast pass line is worth 10 or 15...... The fact that the ride sucks up thousands of people for hours at a time is priceless though!!!!!! - georgieporgie

If you'd like to visit Disneyland more then once a year, like myself, a good neighbour hotel is the best!! Especially the ones along harbour blvd some are about a 5 min walk way faster then having to walk all the way through downtown Disney which you have to if you stay at the Disney hotels

My kids love the Disneyland hotel pool, and there are magic morning days most days alternating either park, if you can wake up early. Saturday and Sunday has magic morning hours for both parks. Also, while the kids are in the pool you can grab some tropical drink or beer at Trader Sam's. Also, you are right next to ESPN Zone, in which my kids love the arcade. If your budget allows--then go fo it! - tink1999

Our room at Paradise Pier was very spacious and comfortable, but I must admit I would have liked to have been able to stay at Grand Californian. We would walk through the lobby of GC to get to and from the park. - Witchie77

There's so many nice hotels along harbour bld that are just as close to the parks as the grand is and plus with the extra money saved instead of being able to go to Disneyland only every 5 years you can go once a year with the money saved staying at one of the good neighbor hotels
The Grand is a beautiful hotel. However, you gotta remember that all you're going to be doing in the hotel is relax and sleep. All your play time is done at the parks. If you booked your trip at the Howard Johnson, you'll have more than enough money left over for tons of souvenirs. Especially for his birthday. Also, if you are planning your trip in the warmer months, I do believe they have an awesome little water park that they can keep occupied in. Either way, have an awesome time. - Waites4DodgerEars

I'm really sorry to hear this, people never change.. I was at the parks a year ago and got a really bad sun burn on my chest and shoulders that started to peel really bad, people actually were making fun of me in the lines for rides, I ended up buying a jacket because I felt so insecure.

I'm so sorry you had to experience that. A few weeks ago my daughter got made fun of on Pooh. She's hard of hearing so she still makes a lot of babbling sounds and can be quite loud since she doesn't understand how to control the volume of her voice. The couple in front of us were annoyed by the noises she was making and the wife started to mimick her halfway through the ride. After we got off they walked away from us quickly, I shouted after them that I hope they were proud of themselves for making fun of a deaf 4 year old. There are people out there that are rude and inconsiderate, but there are even more that are understanding. I hope your next trip is better. (((Hugs))) - LBChica

Dates have varied between December 8th and December 14th. We are hoping for the earlier opening, but it does depend on the progress. I believe they're supposed to start testing vehicles on the track in 2-3 weeks. - IDVandalSkipperCM
