Annual Passholder Price Increase OFFICIAL POST: To avoid duplicate posts, please post ALL news, questions, and discussion about the Oct 4 changes to the Annual Pass program on this post. Thank you!The Disneyland Resort now offers the following passes:Disney Southern California Select $329 (most likely tons of blockout dates)Disney Deluxe: $  More...

As someone who doesn't live in SoCal and uses my AP only a couple or a few times a year, the increase really doesn't bother me at all. I have a Premium AP. The current cost of that pass was $779. New Signature Pass is $849 and it includes free PhotoPass access. This is actually a better deal than what I currently have for me. (I did just renew my Premium for $719, so I won't be getting the new pass, anyway.). Not everyone lives locally and can be at the parks 200 days each year. I have never gone during the Christmas break because, frankly, the crowds have scared me off. That is why we do thanksgiving when we want the holiday vibe. Don't the holidays begin around November 11th each year?  So that is about two months' worth of holidays for those who wish to enjoy that time.  If I were to renew my pass next year, I would simply get the Signature pass. I don't need the highest level just for two weeks at Christmas. I understand those who aren't happy. But, I do think it doesn't have to be as horrible as everyone is making it out to be. Disney is a business. They are in the business of making money, right along with letting you make memories. The new normal for some may have to be to see Disneyland as the treat that it is for much of the country or world who does not have it in their backyard. Hopefully, our lives are full of so many things. Disney is one part of it. It shouldn't be everything. Not trying to tick anyone off here. I do think their timing stinks with this. But, just wanted to show  that there is another perspective and way of looking at this. 😊 - MeridaFan  3626.4 #37 10:51AM
Yes this makes sense but for people who live in So Cal I fell the photo pass should be an option because I really never use it.  - AlyssaDisneyland  19.0 #0 10:54AM
AP prices have gone up every year. SoCal people have had the choice of two APs that no one in the rest of the world have been able to purchase. It is not a necessity for people to buy the most expensive pass for themselves.  So you do have other options that others do not. They also have given special discounted tickets to SoCal people throughout the year. I think those are great options for those who live down there and cannot afford the more expensive passes. Again? This is another viewpoint. And I realize there is only one SoCal pass available now. And I have no idea if they will continue with the other one indefinitely. Just trying to point out that there are actually some positives for some people here. Tourists bring in a lot of money to Disney. Lots of us enjoy using the Photo Pass system.  - MeridaFan  3626.4 #37 11:03AM

Correction I go 201 times - pikarich  4727.6 #24 11:09AM
I could not agree more, MeridaFan.  Also, it doesn't have to be all or nothing!  I understand the AP price is high, but that doesn't mean people have to swear off Disney forever.  Some people would kill to go just once a year. - Thumper13  489.1 #410 11:11AM
MeridaFan...I agree with you. We live in Oregon and, although we're not happy about the increase, we see why it was needed. I would have liked to know ahead of time, though. We still think you get your money's worth of quality, family entertainment. And if some of this increase goes to pay cast members and adds more jobs for new cast members and Star Wars Land for everyone I'm all for it. That said...we don't have young kids at home anymore and don't have to pay for them, along with all the extras while in the park. I can definitely see and agree with both sides. You have to make the best decision for your own family.  - GrandCircleTour  343.5 #658 11:26AM
We have 2 AP holders who renewed and upgraded to Deluxe in June, so they will probably need to rethink their budgets for the next time. We are having issues with budget and rooms right now... Does anyone know why there can't be a 6th person in a hotel room at the resort for a standard or premium room like Woods/Courtyard at the Grand Californian? We are wanting to be a group of 6 adults and a second room for just one additional person just seems excessive! (I think room occupancy max is 5 people?.) Mom has her heart set on the Grand, but we'd only be staying the one night with Disneyland potentially open until 12am, so only about 6-8 hours of sleep. We'll get a great AP discount, but trying to convince everyone to pay isn't easily justified for everyone! Any ideas would be appreciated. TIA! 😁😻 - Catski23  13.7 #8549 11:46AM
City of Anaheim and they are passing it right to us So Cal residence. SMH. - davidmariarivas  3.8 #24777 7:16PM
I agree with you 100%.  Great points! - AZDisney  610.4 #315 7:25PM
davidmariarivas , I hear your frustration but please don't take it out on one of the nicest MouseWaiters here. It's not a conspiracy, she doesn't work for Disney, she's just trying to be fair. I'm sorry you're so unhappy. I hope it gets better.  - secretagentangel  2421.8 #53 7:48PM
@davidmariarivas definitely not cool to be so unkind to one of my closest friends. You need to check yourself. She's entitled to her opinion . Everyone is.., but no need to throw out unfounded accusations  - eviljules  1362.7 #115 8:11PM
I didn't even read what you wrote because its soooo long, but I liked it anyway since everyone else did. - philliprocks  1198.7 #139 7:45AM
I just genuinely wish they had a kids AP, it just doesn't seem right that my 3 yo will be paying the same ticket price and can't go on anything other than Fantasyland rides.  - bellapistola  158.2 #2538 1:30AM
That makes a lot of sense to me.  - MeridaFan  3626.4 #37 2:23AM
agree! - MsTikiMermadam  552.1 #352 2:47AM
I was just thinking that about kids. - minniemonika  174.1 #0 8:17AM
I was just thinking this. With a baby on the way it just seems funny that I will have to buy an annual pass for them at 3. Really what is the difference between 2-3. They are still restricted to the same attractions.  - DisneyBride°O°  439.0 #468 10:06AM
Excellent point!  My boys were about 6-7 years old when they started going on enough rides to make the price worth it. - DisneyPiratePrincess  211.1 #1815 10:34AM
Me too! They should have a kids 3 to 9 AP!  - DCMAGurl  215.3 #1752 11:40AM
Totally agree!! - 1Princess3Princes  558.8 #345 12:23PM
Yes, that's what kills us, paying for 4 is tough. Not like my single days. - brigeet  449.6 #461 3:27PM
I agree.  - TrueFromOzLovesDisney  484.0 #415 9:08PM
I'm feeling pixie dusted, I renewed late august. - snowgrey  5.9 #15268 5:58PM
A friend of mine shared an article on FB that was from the LA Times. It went over all the reasons for the price increase. The one that made me stop and not even pay attention to the reasons after it. The lie that AP holders don't spend as much money at the parks as other guests. It cited hotel stays as part of it. Even doing just a day trip I don't spend less than $200. That is on food and souvenirs. A person that lives way closer that can visit say 3 times a week. At the end of the year, is going to average higher spending than someone that visited once. I am really tired of AP holders taking the blame for crowds and being accused of not contributing to revenue. - Lelundrial  591.3 #329 9:19AM
I read the article too. We spend a small fortune every weekend! - jacdanfan  9584.8 #3 1:31PM

Pleaee please please ease please add me, I would love more than anything to be able to take my foster brother to Disneyland for his birthday, the middle of November He has never been and can't really even fathom the idea of what Disneyland is. He is the most caring sweet little boy and could use a pick me up like this! We got him to use disney as his outlet ( he suffers from a lot of disabilities due to abuse) Thank you so much for this RAK! - jillyinwonderland  80.2 #3834 8:08PM
Please add me for jillyinwonderland. Foster families do amazing things. Sounds like her brother would greatly benifit from this kind gift. - sewedna  550.7 #354 10:23PM
please add me for @jillyinwonderland so she can take her foster brother thank you for such a generous rak :) - OhanaPhoto  4121.6 #30 1:31PM
Thank you both, he's such an amazing little boy, if I could afford to buy him a ticket I so would! - jillyinwonderland  80.2 #3834 5:50PM
If it's okay I'd like to remove the add for myself below and use it for jillyinwonderland. I'm an adoption social worker with Ventura county and I have a caseload of 25 kids awaiting adoption finalization. Jilly is right when she says Disneyland is something her brother can't even fathom - unfortunately that is the case for the majority of kids in care who have been abused or neglected. Disneyland is like a dream to them. Even though my passes expired, my own kids have been lucky enough to go to Disneyland countless times and therefore I feel my add should go to this family. I hope your brother gets to go Jilly! Best wishes to you and your family. - tballzz  558.2 #346 10:10PM
Thank you so much, that's so kind of you. - jillyinwonderland  80.2 #3834 12:13PM

If you haven't closed it yet, I'd like to be added please?  I'd take my mother-in-law who hasn't been in many many years since my father-in-law died.  She just had a second hip surgery and been feeling kind of low.  I think this would cheer her up and I'd buy another ticket for my wife to of course come too.  Thank you!! - DisneyDavidEMT  2441.6 #52 8:32PM

At the vault in DTD, $178 before discount. They are cute with the princess on one side and the villain on the other side. Little mermaid was at the bottom of this pic but was cut off by the app square
