I need some advice. I got hired as a pool waitress for drinks (cocktail waitress) at the Paradise Pier hotel but they might turn me down now or I might have to turn them down. I need 1 more class to graduate which I'm taking over the summer and it's a 3 week course. This is the peak season and they said that they would need me to work those days that I have school. Just wondering, summer school is traditionally a "bonus term"--people used to use the summer to work and the school year to take classes. I wonder, would you actually get your degree at the end of the summer, or would you have to wait until the end of the fall (or even the spring term, in some cases)? I can get my diploma at the end of summer after I finish the course. I'm walking at graduation on May 24 of this year. Usually you can walk before you're actually done. So people walk in spring and take a summer class to finish. Some schools have two graduations one in spring and another in winter, and some just have only spring. It depends on the school. - MrYoda 27.3 #4503 11:51PM

Ah, I see--each school handles this issue a little differently. Well, if you're walking this May, my advice would definitely be to finish your coursework as soon as possible--you'd have to wait all the way until December to get your degree when you could knock it out in three weeks over the summer :).
