Finally got to ride the new bobsleds last week. Sad to say, all in our party complained of hurting backs when ride was over :(

The new sleds are a fail. I was so disappointed. The ride has always been a bumpy one, which never bothered me, but I know plenty of folks with back problems, who are in pain once this ride is done. I also think it's much slower. Even on the left side. I'm not sure who approved the new sleds, but they suck. A timeless attraction, and once one of my favorites, has been ruined, in my opinion. *sigh* 😔 - DisneyFanZoe 1083.8 #77 3:13PM

Finally rode the "new" Matterhorn yesterday. My review (in agreement with my friend, Maria, who spent the day with me): slower; smoother; darker. Seating: we both agreed that it felt more "luge-like" because of the tilt of the seats! Maria rode in front. She's 5'4" and thought that is was a lot less room, but not cramped. I was in the 2nd seat (I'm 5'5"). I was able to almost stretch my legs out fully in the 'leg space' but it wasn't comfortable to ride that way so I pulled my knees up slightly. Getting out is the worst part. You can't really push up with your feet since the edge of the seat is in the way. I had to use my arm strength to lift myself up and be able to get my feet under me. Part of the problem is the way the seats are tilted. My body didn't feel beat up after, but my neck hurt. (Although that could be because of BTMRR... It was so fast yesterday! Hope his recovery is a continued success! I know the feeling=my stepson had renal failure and had a kidney transplant at the age of 4..so instead of removing a kidney he now has 3...just remember there will be ups and downs and please whatever you do...follow the dietary restrictions!!
