Only 2 more hours and we will be at Disneyland for a full week! We are coming from Oregon so we drive 12.5 hours yesterday. So ready for this much needed vacation with my family. Can anyone tell me what time they do the flag retreat? My husband is an Army Veteran and would really like to see this.
I know I don't post here a lot, but I've been on Mousewait for a while. I'm asking for mounds of pixie dust for my family. My husband, son and I were just delivered news that our Labrador has Addison's Disease. It's a rare disease and not typically seen in labs. Almost two weeks ago we got the scare of our life waking up to him tremmoring and extreme lethargy. 2 days later of being on constant IV More...
Alright so we have finally hit only 83 days left until we leave to Disney for a week! I'm always interested to hear others favorite food places, fun things to do, etc. So please share your little secrets of fun things you and your family do while at Disneyland! And....go!
Wow it's been a long time sincere posted here! Well my family and I have officially hit only 113 days left until our Disneyland vacation! What makes it even better is this year we are staying a full week and at the Grand! This will be our sons first stay at this hotel (we normally stay at a good neighbor hotel) and he's so excited!
Very much missing Disneyland right now. This trip brought on a lot of memories as a child for me, brought back memories of taking our son for the first time at 6 months old and creating new memories on this trip. I will admit I cried on our last night, but if it wasn't for Walt and his dream I wouldn't be able to have and create the memories that my family and I can. So until next year Disneyland, More...
Sad morning...we are packing up and heading home :( BUT today marks exactly 1 year until we are back for our next Disney vacation. Melted my heart this morning when my little guy asked "why can't we just stay here mommy? This is my favorite place."
Spending all day tomorrow packing because we leave Friday morning for Disneyland!! I cannot believe its already here, I remember my son wanting to start the countdown at 250 days! Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow, safe travels.
My little guy is such a trooper. Just got done at the ER and he has an ear infection and we leave for Disneyland in 3 days. Thankfully he is in a great mood and we are getting the medicine into his system now to really start clearing it up.
Only 14 more days until we leave for our Disneyland vacation! My family and I are in major need of a vacation so this cannot come soon enough! What's everyone's countdown until your next Disneyland vacation? And where are you visiting from? We will be coming from Oregon (driving).
Made our dinner reservations to celebrate our anniversary at Blue Bayou when we are there in November! 57 days until we leave!! Time is flying by and I'm not complaining, I'm very ready for a vacation.
Went to the Disney store to buy a school back and walked out with his Halloween costume :) he's told me he wants to have lunch with captain hook in his costume when we go to Disneyland and talk about treasure with him...love my little guy!
This is MrMOMzers wonderful picture with a little magic added! We've been beta testing the MouseWait Advanced Composer for awhile now. This allows approved MWers to create their own "column" in the Lounge with expanded posts, pics, and videos inside the post. We are ready to open this feature up to more people who are intersted in having their own MouseWait Column in the Lounge. Your posts could be featured on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ and seen by our 100,000+ strong social media audience!
This feature is best used for instructional posts, history posts (like Duchess_SMK's column), and for reporting news (i.e. BaseballMickey_CM's posts). You could also do this to create a post describing your recent visit to the Parks with multiple pictures, videos, and more--think of it like an article that would appear in a magazine. The Advanced Composer only works on the web version. GO HERE TO APPLY and watch your email for more info (make sure you're email client is not blocking our emails or sending them to Spam--for some reason icloud.com, me.com, and mac.com will not allow our messages to come through.)
Thank you to everyone who strives to add quality content to the Lounge! Thanks again to MrMOMzers for the amazing picture!
Mr. Disney was one of five children, four boys and a girl. He was the fourth born Disney son. He was named after his parents pastor and friend Walter Parr, a preacher at St. Paul Congregational Church. The pastor, in turn, will later name his son Elias, after Walt's father.
Most of Walt's childhood was spent on a farm in Marceline, Missouri, where he began drawing, painting and selling pictures to neighbors and family friends. In 1911, the family moved to Kansas City, where his love for trains really developed. His Uncle, Mike Martin, was a train Engineer who worked on the route between Fort Madison, Iowa, and Marceline. Walt would later work a summer job with the railroad, selling newspapers and snacks to the travelers. To read more about Walts love for trains

Walt Disney in my opinion, is a wonderful example of the American dream! He represents: imagination, optimism, creation, and self-made success in the American tradition. He brought us closer to the future, while telling us of the past, it is certain, Walt Disney was a great man! He and his brother Roy co-founded Walt Disney Productions, which became one of the best-known motion-picture production companies in the world! Disney was an innovative animator and created the cartoon characters we all love to watch today. :) He won 22 Academy Awards during his lifetime, and was the founder of the magical playgrounds that ties us all together, Disneyland and Disney World. Had he been alive today he would be 112 years old! Happy birthday Walt! Thank you so much for believing in your dreams! You are a true inspiration.
In honor of today, it would be fun if we all mentioned our favorite quote from Mr. Disney. I'll go first, I have many, but this one always sticks out:
"I've always been interested in the past and history and I think it's vital."
Thanks for reading and watching! Hope you all have a terrific Thursday!
