Such a fun day yesterday! Was pretty happy to get on not only the last Mark Twain but the Train and Fantasmic showing! The parks were an absolute mess in regards to crowds but there was a great energy that I have not seen in sometime. Everyone who was on the Mark Twain, watching Fantasmic or on the sweeper train was really into it and had a lot of positive energy that made it so much fun! Cant wai  More...

Totally agree! There's a couple days of the year with the park having that kind of energy (July 17th and Walt's birthday are a couple of those). Despite it being crowded, a really fun day for Disneyland fans to come together - BaseballMickey  7890.2 #11 1:01PM
Maybe not the same degree of Disney tradition, but felt a great energy too all night as I worked Hollywoodland and Mad T as the last crowds enjoyed the last Aladdin shows.   - Willierose  2351.3 #70 1:06PM

Disneyland unFORECAST (BETA) is here! Top MouseWaiters giving you the rundown of what's happening at the Disneyland Resort. The unFORECAST now has its own page on the web www.unFORECAST.com

unFORECAST for the month of May 2016
The last few weeks have been relatively quiet, but we will see crowds rise as we get to the end of May, especially toward the end of the month when Grad Nite begins. Looking back at MouseWait's Historical Crowd Index (available in our MagicPlan iOS Calendar), crowds averaged in the high 70s (approx 70% capacity), then the Crowd Index rose to the 80s toward the end of the month. Remember, we've seen larger crowds ever since the 60th Celebration began, so keep that in mind when looking at historical Crowd Index data. To get a real-time look at crowd levels, check the MouseWait App for Crowd Index averages and wait times. Have a great week! - Admin May 9, 2016 5:42PM

So sad to see it go.  I know Disney is in this Frozen high and trying to continue to milk that movie for all it is worth, but this was a poor decision on their part.  I don't see Frozen having the longevity that Aladdin has because they've saturated everything with Frozen trying to force it into everything.  - TheFoxandtheHound  10.3 #11128 6:50PM

I have a request to make. If you wait in line for one of these, would you please eat it fresh and not save it for a year (or longer). That's what I never understand. πŸ˜‚. Silly question, but if you can buy one all year long made from the same recipe why stand in line and go through all the trouble? Am I missing something? πŸ€” - DisneyDrea  776.3 #252 7:21PM
The candy canes you stand in line for are hand pulled and twisted. Very cool to watch.  - BRabbit  796.0 #241 7:24PM
You can only buy them during Christmas time. But some people love the magic of same day ones , and knowing it was one you saw being made.  - secretagentangel  6431.6 #20 7:25PM
I was told by one CM they weren't sure if off site ones are made with hand pulling or those fancy taffy pulling machines (which I would love to have in my kitchen).πŸ˜ƒ - secretagentangel  6431.6 #20 7:27PM
Ah! Good to know! I bet it is really cool to watch the process! Thanks for the info 😊 - DisneyDrea  776.3 #252 7:31PM
I have had both over the years, and nothing compares to the ones made in the parks as far as texture and taste. It might be the same recipe, but the ones you have to wait for really do deliver. πŸ˜πŸ˜‹β€οΈπŸŽ„ - Sweet_Irish_Cream  4409.5 #34 6:02PM
As a confectioner I can tell you that if they're using the same recipe and cooking it to the exact temp, which looking at their cooker they should be, the taste is identical and wouldn't matter if made on site or not, it's mental. If you get it warm, then it will make a little bit of a difference in texture, but once it cools to room temp, the taste will not be different, because it's basically sugar and the shelf life is a very long time if stored correctly, so taste won't be affected if one was made today or 6 months ago. - cmc  73.0 #4169 9:02PM
Thanks cmc. I thought I was missing something when I bought the fresh ones  - PrincessDuckie  919.5 #204 9:04PM

Annual Passholder Price Increase OFFICIAL POST: To avoid duplicate posts, please post ALL news, questions, and discussion about the Oct 4 changes to the Annual Pass program on this post. Thank you!The Disneyland Resort now offers the following passes:Disney Southern California Select $329 (most likely tons of blockout dates)Disney Deluxe: $  More...

As someone who doesn't live in SoCal and uses my AP only a couple or a few times a year, the increase really doesn't bother me at all. I have a Premium AP. The current cost of that pass was $779. New Signature Pass is $849 and it includes free PhotoPass access. This is actually a better deal than what I currently have for me. (I did just renew my Premium for $719, so I won't be getting the new pass, anyway.). Not everyone lives locally and can be at the parks 200 days each year. I have never gone during the Christmas break because, frankly, the crowds have scared me off. That is why we do thanksgiving when we want the holiday vibe. Don't the holidays begin around November 11th each year?  So that is about two months' worth of holidays for those who wish to enjoy that time.  If I were to renew my pass next year, I would simply get the Signature pass. I don't need the highest level just for two weeks at Christmas. I understand those who aren't happy. But, I do think it doesn't have to be as horrible as everyone is making it out to be. Disney is a business. They are in the business of making money, right along with letting you make memories. The new normal for some may have to be to see Disneyland as the treat that it is for much of the country or world who does not have it in their backyard. Hopefully, our lives are full of so many things. Disney is one part of it. It shouldn't be everything. Not trying to tick anyone off here. I do think their timing stinks with this. But, just wanted to show  that there is another perspective and way of looking at this. 😊 - MeridaFan  4244.1 #36 10:51AM
Yes this makes sense but for people who live in So Cal I fell the photo pass should be an option because I really never use it.  - AlyssaDisneyland  424.0 #537 10:54AM
AP prices have gone up every year. SoCal people have had the choice of two APs that no one in the rest of the world have been able to purchase. It is not a necessity for people to buy the most expensive pass for themselves.  So you do have other options that others do not. They also have given special discounted tickets to SoCal people throughout the year. I think those are great options for those who live down there and cannot afford the more expensive passes. Again? This is another viewpoint. And I realize there is only one SoCal pass available now. And I have no idea if they will continue with the other one indefinitely. Just trying to point out that there are actually some positives for some people here. Tourists bring in a lot of money to Disney. Lots of us enjoy using the Photo Pass system.  - MeridaFan  4244.1 #36 11:03AM
MeridaFan - pikarich  5902.5 #22 11:07AM
Correction I go 201 times - pikarich  5902.5 #22 11:09AM
I could not agree more, MeridaFan.  Also, it doesn't have to be all or nothing!  I understand the AP price is high, but that doesn't mean people have to swear off Disney forever.  Some people would kill to go just once a year. - Thumper13  498.7 #447 11:11AM
MeridaFan...I agree with you. We live in Oregon and, although we're not happy about the increase, we see why it was needed. I would have liked to know ahead of time, though. We still think you get your money's worth of quality, family entertainment. And if some of this increase goes to pay cast members and adds more jobs for new cast members and Star Wars Land for everyone I'm all for it. That said...we don't have young kids at home anymore and don't have to pay for them, along with all the extras while in the park. I can definitely see and agree with both sides. You have to make the best decision for your own family.  - GrandCircleTour  363.8 #651 11:26AM
We have 2 AP holders who renewed and upgraded to Deluxe in June, so they will probably need to rethink their budgets for the next time. We are having issues with budget and rooms right now... Does anyone know why there can't be a 6th person in a hotel room at the resort for a standard or premium room like Woods/Courtyard at the Grand Californian? We are wanting to be a group of 6 adults and a second room for just one additional person just seems excessive! (I think room occupancy max is 5 people?.) Mom has her heart set on the Grand, but we'd only be staying the one night with Disneyland potentially open until 12am, so only about 6-8 hours of sleep. We'll get a great AP discount, but trying to convince everyone to pay isn't easily justified for everyone! Any ideas would be appreciated. TIA! 😁😻 - Catski23  26.3 #6555 11:46AM

it has been nonstop peak crowds this year, no abating like in the past, no off season days. Anaheim is not passing anything on to sc residents. I vote and live in anaheim. The council took a loss with the gate tax. Disney is using some of the money to fund the new star wars, land purchases, new high rise parking structure, and since they can get the money, they are trying to reducee peak crowds. So do your homework and know the facts. I have lived in anaheim for 54 years in the shadow of the park. Its a private business and they are doing what they need to do. The β€œour park” mentality is changing. Our streets are so congested with cars it takes me 45 min to an hour to drive 6 miles to my job in santa ana. I have not used the gridlock freeways for the last 5 years, it seems that everyone that left CA has come back all at once. I hope price increases will slow down the crowds but I doubt that. Disney must have great actuaries. - Plumiegirl  10323.4 #8 11:30PM
I just genuinely wish they had a kids AP, it just doesn't seem right that my 3 yo will be paying the same ticket price and can't go on anything other than Fantasyland rides.  - bellapistola  158.4 #2631 1:30AM
That makes a lot of sense to me.  - MeridaFan  4244.1 #36 2:23AM
agree! - MsTikiMermadam  1251.8 #142 2:47AM
I was just thinking that about kids. - minniemonika  229.1 #0 8:17AM
I was just thinking this. With a baby on the way it just seems funny that I will have to buy an annual pass for them at 3. Really what is the difference between 2-3. They are still restricted to the same attractions.  - DisneyBrideΒ°OΒ°  448.9 #506 10:06AM
Excellent point!  My boys were about 6-7 years old when they started going on enough rides to make the price worth it. - DisneyPiratePrincess  272.8 #1173 10:34AM
Me too! They should have a kids 3 to 9 AP!  - DCMAGurl  227.7 #1680 11:40AM
Totally agree!! - 1Princess3Princes  643.2 #324 12:23PM
Yes, that's what kills us, paying for 4 is tough. Not like my single days. - brigeet  590.2 #357 3:27PM
I agree.  - TrueFromOzLovesDisney  538.0 #402 9:08PM
Maybe it would be better if the age was raised? Instead of 3 to 9, maybe make it 4-10? Or by height? 40" and up need tickets?  - Arielkitten13  306.5 #908 9:09AM
Thought about this long and hard and have decided were going to renew our passes. My daughter is 2 now and sharing these disney moments with her is absolutely worth it! See you guys soon at the next meet up.  - EVILQUEEN1  33.2 #5849 11:01AM
As a 10+ year Premium Passholder this increase won't detour our family from buying our passes. It only makes us want to visit more often, being our pass has passed the $1K ceiling. Anyone else feel the same?  - snappy  442.1 #511 4:34PM

I'm thinking about booking "The Walk In Walt's Footsteps tour. Can someone tell both the good and the Not So Good ( I can't imagine anything at Disneyland being Bad) about this tour?

The tour is awesome,Between all the info about Walt and the park and the brief glimpse of  Club 33 and going to the front of the line of Peter Pan and not to mention a free lunch at Jolly Holiday,  I guess it was okay  - TheHubs  223.5 #1734 2:27PM
Thanks! - luvthemouse  277.9 #1109 4:36PM
Word to the wise, book your tour ASAP. I tried to book mine and I was 27 days out and there were no more available spots.  - citainwonderland  60.6 #0 3:02PM
If we decide to book it they recommended that we book it 60 days out. So we will do that. Thank you.  - luvthemouse  277.9 #1109 4:36PM
You no longer get to see Club 33. I've heard most of the time you don't get to see Walt's Appartment. But you do get to go into the Dream Suite. I did it back when they did Walt's Appartment. I thought it was A LOT of walking. A couple people dropped out. They walked around the park twice. They could have done it in one lap instead of two. Food is essentially Jolly Holiday. I thought it was worth it and fun. It is longer that most of the other tours. - DLKenCA  2750.6 #53 3:16PM

Wow! I thought they would keep DL Forever & just add a Christmas segment at the end just like what was done last 4th of July, when there was a patriotic finale add-on. - HARR_E  5590.6 #24 12:55PM
That's what I was thinking too. Who knows, they just might - FoolishMortal138  460.7 #489 1:14PM
I hope they do something!!! You can't have Christmas at DL without it snowing on Main Street...and the Frozen segment doesn't count!! πŸ˜‘β„οΈπŸ˜‚ - caramiapoohluvsbb8  4484.9 #32 1:23PM

Hi HARR_E! How are you feeling? - secretagentangel  6431.6 #20 4:58PM
How are you doing? - jacdanfan  12150.3 #6 5:12PM
I'm doing fine. I was discharged 9/8, they kept me for 5 days post-op. I kinda had some side effects from Gen Anesthesia which kept my stay longer. I'm home & moving around albeit really slowly since I feel pain now & then which is normal during recovery. My surgeon said the procedure was a success & he says from what he has seen, it all "looks good." I will know for certain this Thurs during my appointment when I see my pathology report. Overall, I do feel good with every passing day & am in good spirits. Thanks so much guys for your kind words & thoughts. - HARR_E  5590.6 #24 5:28PM
Glad to hear, take care. - jacdanfan  12150.3 #6 7:01PM
